I was born in a Hindu family, but came to know Christ at the age of 17. What you said about letting the hair down for mourning is something I have seen happen in my culture as well. Even till my grandmother's generation, women did not expose their hair in public. She used to discourage me as well and always asked me to at least put my hair in a bun. The whole angels thing 👀👀. That’s for real. I decided to try it and, wow, what a difference. I now veil whenever I leave my home, too. If I’m feeling like Satan and his fallen angels are trying hard to attack me spiritually, I will put a head covering on…and it makes a great difference 🥹🙏. I definitely believe in modesty on the part of both men and women...but in all honesty...shouldn't the one with the problem be addressed instead of the victim? if a man doesn't have the hair to look at what will he focus on next that a woman should modify? The sin of lust will just find another expression...If a man finds a veiled woman very tantalizing because he can imagine her with any hair he wishes in his mind...is it then the veiled womans inconsideration that caused him to sin? Do we tell store owners to put away anything that can be stolen so the thief will not be tempted and if not then they caused this thief to sin! Or do we rather tell the thief, "Repent and steal no more?"! We will all give account for not only our actions but also the thoughts and intents of our hearts!
However- this is the same argument used by women who try to justify wearing string bikinis… But I’m still not a proponent of veiling at all times, but definitely would not judge a women who chooses to do so out of a sincere love for God, and an expression of that love.

Men wield superior physical strength than women, they respect us by not exerting it onto us. Women wield superior beauty, we can respect men by acknowledging this power we hold over them and making choices that reflect this respect. In doing so, we actually command more respect from them than if we intentionally weaken/seduce them through our appearance.
And beloved, I have a question. So what if men find your hair or your outward appearance attractive? We try to be modest, alright. But if men find you attractive, so what? God created us like this. Lust is different. But it is not woman's fault after all if she is not trying to seduce anyone and she is lusted after. God sees the heart.

I believe Numbers 5:18 also talks about headcovering being removed to symbolize her husband’s protection being removed during the adultery test. I see this concept as also applying to the congregation of Israel because of Jeremiah 3:8 And I saw 9:40 that for all the adulteries of faithless Israel, I had sent her away and given her a writ of divorce, yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear; but she went and was a harlot also. Jeremiah 3:9 Because of the lightness of her harlotry, she polluted the land and committed adultery with stones and trees. Jeremiah 3:10 Yet in spite of all this her treacherous sister Judah did not return to Me with all her heart, but rather in deception," declares the Lord. God Invites Repentance Jeremiah 3:11 And the Lord said to me, "Faithless Israel has proved herself more righteous than treacherous Judah. The marriage relationship is fundamental to understanding the Bible because it was the original purpose of creating Israel and sending Yeshua messiah to die and reconcile us to the Father Yahweh.
The reason why Paul said this was because at the time, Hellenistic and Jewish cultures believed that a woman's hair was related to fertility in much the same way as a man's testicles were. Some of the finest medical minds of that day believed this, it was not just a minority or religious belief. Because it was a shared belief it was the right thing at the time for those who believed it. But today we know this not to be medically correct.. For that matter, a bald woman can become pregnant. Do a little research on this topic and you'll see that I'm not just saying this to be contrarian. Edit: God's Word is infallible. I am not here to question God's word, just the way we are interpreting or applying this passage. But this was definitely a cultural issue, in much the same way as women were not even allowed to speak in gatherings. Today, many churches that would not allow a woman to be pastor are totally fine with women speaking as a guest, giving announcements, singing special music, etc. So it's clearly (at least in part) a cultural issue. Without comparing God's headship of the Church to a Man's headship of his home, it's a huge topic in and of itself. But the issue of headcovering is clearly a cultural one, since multiple cultures and religions agreed that a woman's hair was equivalent to a man's testicles for fertility purposes. So for those cultures the real issue was modesty, and for that day it was correct to be modest by keeping their heads covered in public. Lastly, if God is REALLY calling you to cover your head then I am not here to tell you that you are wrong, follow the Lord's leading. But likely God is not leading almost anyone to do that today, otherwise we would be seeing a mass movement amongst Christians to do so. ( I am speaking to people in the USA)

But what did Paul say? Do what your conscience dictates in those cases of uncertainty, and don't cause others to stumble. Some people argue that headcovering was stopped by lesbians in the beginning of the 19th century and that it was finished by the 1950's feminist movement. Yet, we have nothing to do with that. Even our parents were born after that happened. So we didn't change the culture, we didn't choose to live with a headcovering or not. Even the churches do not teach it. The fact of the matter is that Paul said that even he tries to be everything for everyone so that he can save even the few. Many of these women are martyrs. Christians should look up to Saints and imitate them in virtue and faith. I'd rather imitate these women than adhere to modern standards. A Saint once said "The goal is to rise spiritually, not simply to avoid sin.”.

Amen. God warns us of customs and religious practices that are an outward act but he wants our hearts. If it’s a personal way to honor God that’s fine, but if you Shame others or expected others to do this when they aren’t convinced of the same thing it becomes a way to exalt yourself and condemn another. It boils down to your own faith and personal convictions but you actually become a stumbling block to others and can take away from the power of Jesus’s shed blood on the cross, which the Bible is clear that Jesus is the only sanctification and righteousness that we have to stand before the Lord. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: Romans 7:18 Study Romans 8. The Flesh is perishing and there is nothing we can do to make it righteous, but it says “ there is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit”. Later on in the chapter it calls believers to be spiritually minded and not to think about the things of the carnal nature, putting so much focus on something physical like this can be a distraction from keeping our eyes on Jesus. There is none that are righteous not one, but it’s walking in the Spirit and daily communing with God and reading the word that sets us free and changes us. Because it’s Christ in you the hope of glory, you’ll never change yourself and make you holy, the carnal nature is only conquered by the life of Christ in a believer. Then one day we will be delivered from this body of death and be fully sanctified as we receive our glorified bodies and be with the Lord.

To be honest if hair is sensual when Mary wipes Jesus feet with her hair she was performing a very grotesque and perverted act on the feet of Jesus. The word says a woman’s hair is her glory. Arguing from a point of sensuality is a strange take. It is not the part of the body that requires more modesty similar to what Paul talked about different parts of the body. I think we need to reevaluate this because interestingly enough there is no law in Torah that requires a head covering for women. There are plenty of cultural references but never any laws in even Old Testament scripture.
If you listen closely to the video, she explains that uncovered hair is also tied to grief and to shame. Also, hair should only be seen by the husband and Christians are the bride of Christ. There are many ways to look at things. God bless.

God show us repeatedly that when a woman’s veil is removed and her hair unbound in public it is indeed a shameful situation that a normal woman would not desire. Are you familiar with this oft repeated theme? In Numbers 5: 16-22 God commands that the woman’s veil, which is the symbol of authority worn on a woman’s head, is removed when she is suspected of going astray while under her husband’s authority. In Song of Solomon 5:7 The watchmen that went about the city found the Shulamite and beat and bruised her and took away her veil. Three undesirable, degrading things to happen. They removed the veil to leave her in utter humility. In Isaiah 47:2,3 God says that when the virgin daughter of Babylon (not a wife) has her veil removed it is shameful. Her shame will be seen. Throughout 1 Corinthians 11 we see that a woman should be covered in public and she should not uncover her head during public prayer as the men are commanded to do. To uncover in public would dishonor God, Christ, her father or husband. Blessed be the name of THE LORD!
Some thing for you to consider is that God is speaking to a virgin and Isaiah 47. This is ample evidence that even an unmarried woman would be considered shameful if her veil is removed. You look very young. If it's not a secret, can you tell me how old you are? For now, I wear my head covered only at home and at prayer, at gatherings. I really want to be able to wear it permanently, including at work, but I keep praying for it.
People usually think I'm younger than I am. I believe God will give you the strength and courage to wear it in places you haven't yet ❤ For me personally, I was most afraid to wear it around my family and at church. It was honestly really hard to do, and I almost didn't do it, but I just had to keep reminding myself to not care what they thought. If these people really did care about me then they wouldn't treat me differently. Honestly, I haven't had all positive reactions. Some people avoid me now, because of it. That hurt me a lot honestly, but what helped me keep going was just reminding myself that it matters more to me what God thinks. That I'd rather be a friend of Him than a friend to the world. It has gotten easier over time. You get used to people looking at you strangely and the right relationships will find you, but it can be very lonely in the meantime. The process definitely draws you closer to God, as I'm sure you've already begun experiencing. ❤

No your prayers will not be hindered. This is a religious condemnation that comes from the law, but the Spirit gives life and your set free from religious coverings. If you lived as a missionary in a country that’s culturally expecting this from Wemons it may be wise to win the unbeliever but here in America men aren’t looking at your hair like it’s pornography. It’s just not in our culture and it’s not causing anyone to sin. Read Romans 7 and 8 about walking in the spirit, What Jesus did for us is our only righteousness before God, period. Don’t let head coverings be a source of doubt between you and God.

Do you cut your hair? We do not cut our hair. I can see how you see we ladies should cover our hair but I'm going to continue praying about this. I dyed it a lot and bleached it before I started covering so I try to trim it when it needs it so my hair doesn’t break off more than necessary. Regarding speaking in tongues, this is what I believe: Do we all have the gift of healing? Do we all have the ability to speak in unknown languages? Veiling hair is from Bible. In Quran there is no veiling of hair or face. This is a typical example of how Biblical rules were injected among Muslims in the name of hadiths
1 Corinthians 11:15 But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given to her for a covering. God has given us long hair for a covering. Hair is not some innately sexual thing. I would caution you not to project the lusts of the flesh onto the innocence of God’s cherished daughters.

@hannahsimmons2343 doctrine is a set of beliefs, not all doctrine involves salvation so I’m not sure what you’re worried about, I also never mentioned modesty, my disagreement was with teaching women ought to wear a veil. You want to argue the covering mentioned is a spiritual one, not hair (physical), then explain to me why in the OT the priests were commanded to cover their heads (with a physical object). The verse clearly says the man ought NOT to cover his head, if the covering is not the hair then that would completely contradict OT scriptures.

The marriage relationship is fundamental to understanding the Bible because it was the original purpose of creating Israel and sending Yeshua messiah to die and reconcile us to the Father Yahweh.

The reason why Paul said this was because at the time, Hellenistic and Jewish cultures believed that a woman's hair was related to fertility in much the same way as a man's testicles were. Some of the finest medical minds of that day believed this, it was not just a minority or religious belief. Because it was a shared belief it was the right thing at the time for those who believed it. But today we know this not to be medically correct.. For that matter, a bald woman can become pregnant. Do a little research on this topic and you'll see that I'm not just saying this to be contrarian.
Edit: God's Word is infallible. I am not here to question God's word, just the way we are interpreting or applying this passage. But this was definitely a cultural issue, in much the same way as women were not even allowed to speak in gatherings. Today, many churches that would not allow a woman to be pastor are totally fine with women speaking as a guest, giving announcements, singing special music, etc. So it's clearly (at least in part) a cultural issue. Without comparing God's headship of the Church to a Man's headship of his home, it's a huge topic in and of itself. But the issue of headcovering is clearly a cultural one, since multiple cultures and religions agreed that a woman's hair was equivalent to a man's testicles for fertility purposes. So for those cultures the real issue was modesty, and for that day it was correct to be modest by keeping their heads covered in public.
Lastly, if God is REALLY calling you to cover your head then I am not here to tell you that you are wrong, follow the Lord's leading. But likely God is not leading almost anyone to do that today, otherwise we would be seeing a mass movement amongst Christians to do so. ( I am speaking to people in the USA)
God’s Word is God’s Word, paul received that from Jesus command and there’s a reason he said while praying….
@@Jennifer-wv6wb The Bible is infallible, no question about it. But even In Paul's day some believers believed a thing to be right and others to be wrong, such as eating meat sacrificed to Idols. But what did Paul say? Do what your conscience dictates in those cases of uncertainty, and don't cause others to stumble. If the Lord is leading you to wear headcoverings, I'm not here to say you shouldn't. But I don't believe that its otherwise a requirement for believers.

Some people argue that headcovering was stopped by lesbians in the beginning of the 19th century and that it was finished by the 1950's feminist movement. Yet, we have nothing to do with that. Even our parents were born after that happened. So we didn't change the culture, we didn't choose to live with a headcovering or not. Even the churches do not teach it.
The fact of the matter is that Paul said that even he tries to be everything for everyone so that he can save even the few.
We don't greet people with the Holy kiss, even though it is commanded in the NT. Why? We don't wash people's feet, even though it was commanded in the NT. Why? I argue that it is because of culture.
@@global1007Look at icons of Christian women of the Early Church that became Saints. Some of them are Saint Priscilla, Saint Veronica, Saint Thecla, Saint Marcella and Saint Claudia. Many of these women are martyrs. Christians should look up to Saints and imitate them in virtue and faith. I'd rather imitate these women than adhere to modern standards. A Saint once said "The goal is to rise spiritually, not simply to avoid sin.”.

Read it in context and you'll know covering head is a culture thing and gets you no brownie points when it comes to God's kingdom, Holiness or righteousness. I don't have such culture in my church/country , yet I can pray and sing in tongues for hours . Holy Spirit sees the posture of heart rather than clothes and attire. You're good to follow it , and absolutely fine f you feel more modest by doing so. but following a custom or tradition doesn't make any difference in the kingdom.
Also in your video, you talk more about 'men- men'' ,and less about God, basically you cover your head to save yourself from men's lustful eyes (presumably ) and not to honour God. Believe me sis, God hasn't called Christian women to be solver of every man's "lust problem" on earth. Godly Men can bear their own responsibility of keeping themselves Holy., and Holy Spirit is their helper , not burqa/ covering wearing women. We're not called to "over-do" things.

Amen. God warns us of customs and religious practices that are an outward act but he wants our hearts. If it’s a personal way to honor God that’s fine, but if you Shame others or expected others to do this when they aren’t convinced of the same thing it becomes a way to exalt yourself and condemn another. It boils down to your own faith and personal convictions but you actually become a stumbling block to others and can take away from the power of Jesus’s shed blood on the cross, which the Bible is clear that Jesus is the only sanctification and righteousness that we have to stand before the Lord. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: Romans 7:18 Study Romans 8. The Flesh is perishing and there is nothing we can do to make it righteous, but it says “ there is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit”. Later on in the chapter it calls believers to be spiritually minded and not to think about the things of the carnal nature, putting so much focus on something physical like this can be a distraction from keeping our eyes on Jesus. There is none that are righteous not one, but it’s walking in the Spirit and daily communing with God and reading the word that sets us free and changes us. Because it’s Christ in you the hope of glory, you’ll never change yourself and make you holy, the carnal nature is only conquered by the life of Christ in a believer. Then one day we will be delivered from this body of death and be fully sanctified as we receive our glorified bodies and be with the Lord.

To be honest if hair is sensual when Mary wipes Jesus feet with her hair she was performing a very grotesque and perverted act on the feet of Jesus. The word says a woman’s hair is her glory. Arguing from a point of sensuality is a strange take. It is not the part of the body that requires more modesty similar to what Paul talked about different parts of the body. I think we need to reevaluate this because interestingly enough there is no law in Torah that requires a head covering for women. There are plenty of cultural references but never any laws in even Old Testament scripture.
If you listen closely to the video, she explains that uncovered hair is also tied to grief and to shame. Also, hair should only be seen by the husband and Christians are the bride of Christ. There are many ways to look at things. God bless.

God show us repeatedly that when a woman’s veil is removed and her hair unbound in public it is indeed a shameful situation that a normal woman would not desire.

In Numbers 5: 16-22
God commands that the woman’s veil, which is the symbol of authority worn on a woman’s head, is removed when she is suspected of going astray while under her husband’s authority.
In Song of Solomon 5:7 The watchmen that went about the city found the Shulamite and beat and bruised her and took away her veil. Three undesirable, degrading things to happen. They removed the veil to leave her in utter humility.
In Isaiah 47:2,3 God says that when the virgin daughter of Babylon (not a wife) has her veil removed it is shameful. Her shame will be seen.
Throughout 1 Corinthians 11 we see that a woman should be covered in public and she should not uncover her head during public prayer as the men are commanded to do. To uncover in public would dishonor God, Christ, her father or husband.

Some thing for you to consider is that God is speaking to a virgin and Isaiah 47. This is ample evidence that even an unmarried woman would be considered shameful if her veil is removed. You look very young. If it's not a secret, can you tell me how old you are? For now, I wear my head covered only at home and at prayer, at gatherings. I really want to be able to wear it permanently, including at work, but I keep praying for it.
People usually think I'm younger than I am. I believe God will give you the strength and courage to wear it in places you haven't yet ❤
For me personally, I was most afraid to wear it around my family and at church. It was honestly really hard to do, and I almost didn't do it, but I just had to keep reminding myself to not care what they thought. If these people really did care about me then they wouldn't treat me differently. Honestly, I haven't had all positive reactions. Some people avoid me now, because of it. That hurt me a lot honestly, but what helped me keep going was just reminding myself that it matters more to me what God thinks. That I'd rather be a friend of Him than a friend to the world. It has gotten easier over time. You get used to people looking at you strangely and the right relationships will find you, but it can be very lonely in the meantime. The process definitely draws you closer to God, as I'm sure you've already begun experiencing. ❤

No your prayers will not be hindered. This is a religious condemnation that comes from the law, but the Spirit gives life and your set free from religious coverings. If you lived as a missionary in a country that’s culturally expecting this from Wemons it may be wise to win the unbeliever but here in America men aren’t looking at your hair like it’s pornography. It’s just not in our culture and it’s not causing anyone to sin. Read Romans 7 and 8 about walking in the spirit, What Jesus did for us is our only righteousness before God, period. Don’t let head coverings be a source of doubt between you and God.
It’s not a commandment it’s a personal choice. And God hears everyone.

Do you cut your hair? We do not cut our hair. I can see how you see we ladies should cover our hair but I'm going to continue praying about this. I truly believe Paul is talking about a person's hair. I'm also curious if you believe in true salvation in Acts 2.

Regarding your questions, I do trim my hair. I dyed it a lot and bleached it before I started covering so I try to trim it when it needs it so my hair doesn’t break off more than necessary.
Regarding speaking in tongues, this is what I believe:
Do we all have the gift of healing? Do we all have the ability to speak in unknown languages? Do we all have the ability to interpret unknown languages? Of course not!

Veiling hair is from Bible. In Quran there is no veiling of hair or face. This is a typical example of how Biblical rules were injected among Muslims in the name of hadiths

God has given us long hair for a covering. Hair is not some innately sexual thing. I would caution you not to project the lusts of the flesh onto the innocence of God’s cherished daughters.

@hannahsimmons2343 doctrine is a set of beliefs, not all doctrine involves salvation so I’m not sure what you’re worried about, I also never mentioned modesty, my disagreement was with teaching women ought to wear a veil.
You want to argue the covering mentioned is a spiritual one, not hair (physical), then explain to me why in the OT the priests were commanded to cover their heads (with a physical object). The verse clearly says the man ought NOT to cover his head, if the covering is not the hair then that would completely contradict OT scriptures.

The priest had clear instructions of what to wear on their heads, the covering had a specific name, that’s not what we see in Corinthians, I guess the elephant in the room (the hair) is not big enough.
