Happy Halloween. I've had the WORSE time editing this video than this nightmare experience. Visage is one of the best horror games created in the last decade by sadsquare studios. It takes all of the trail blazing of Silent Hill merged with modern day graphics and horrific story telling capable on modern hardware. The way this game organically orchestrates random creepy moments simply cannot be overstated. Alien Isolation started off this generation great, and Visage ends it off just as brilliantly.
Exactly. I truly still wonder to this day how they managed to orchestrate half the random encounters in the house.

Nice review. I would say this is the second scariest game I played after Outlast. The first Outlast that is, which set a benchmark for me as far as survival horror games go and, as with Visage, the sound played the crucial role. Both outlast and visage had me experiencing absolute dread, helplessness and horror the entire time. These two are the kinds of games that make you want to switch on the lights while playing just to regain your own sanity in real life.

I found this video TOTALLY relatable . I have watched literally EVERY HORROR movie and i just sit there OK am i supposed to be scared , YET i couldnt finish a single area in any horror but i keep coming back to them

Seems like a bad*ss game, although, it always bugs me when scary movies try to trick me into cranking the volume on my speakers by artificially lowering the loudness of the non-freaky parts. It's like, "Gee, I wonder why I have to turn the sound up to 3x what is normal to hear this conversation. I wonder if this anomaly will be somehow exploited to give me a heart palpitation"

The sanity meter is what made me quit after two hours. I was losing sanity because supposedly some doors were closing or lights turned off by themselves that I, the player, had no idea of and understood what happened when the meter was showing up. I was feeling robbed and completely took me out of the experience. I should be the one becoming mad, not my avatar.
It's a shame they scrapped VR. I played the beginning in a very buggy VR mode and it was too much to handle.
it's super lame. They even still kept the jenky vr controls despite it not being in that mode.

Yeeeeeeeessssssss! I thought it was just me being clumsy with trying to fig. out the damn condoler. Why am I having such a had time trying to figure out how to place and light a damn candle!? Like REALLY!!! I love the game! No doubt. BUT, when my sanity is low, I have only one if that of what I need and trying to drop what I don’t need to get to a fresh, what I do need in a short time is just the most anxiety filled activity and you know what? I’m thinking maaaaaaaybe they purposefully designed the button controls in that manner to mimic what happens in real life when your scared or panicked out of your mind and trying to do the most simplest of tasks like getting keys out to unlock a door in a panicked state is either impossible or down right difficult. But thing is, when all is fine it’s still just as difficult to get the hand of dropping an item to replace it when you calm. That difficulty even in a calm state causes you to freak out and panic when your down to the wire and need a thing like, NOW! But it becomes frustrating as well as add more tenseness to when you really need to drop an item and switch out. It’s ridiculous and brilliant at the same time if you get what I’m saying. Meaning it’s a horror game so it could add to the sense of urgency which makes you panic which makes it harder for you to grab or replace and use what you really need at the moment which only makes the game in that moment much more intense. So I’m almost thinking it was done on purpose this shitty choice of what buttons control what actions when it comes to not moving around, that’s straight forward but when it comes to getting the specific items you need in a got damn hurry. It creates a sense of anxiety and aggravation at the same time where in real life if you think about it, doing the most simplest of tasks also all of a sudden are monumental task in and of it self! So I have a feeling it was done purposefully. You can’t be this great at designing a Psycological horror game and do it so well because you have to be a gamer but a gamer also knows how important handing of the controls are and miss that completely!!! Can’t be possible and with all the time invested and people involved in the game. They had to have played it. But now as I’m saying that, the question is how did they play the finished version?
No, I think it was done purposefully when it comes to the controls being so difficult to navigate when it comes to inventory items and using or storing them. To mimic reality and how hard it is to use simple everyday items in a tense setting.

Also like if you were having a nightmare and in your nightmare you were trying to run or get away it always feels like you’re clumsy and you can’t quite get to your feet right maybe they implemented this also into the game as the game is slowly evolving into this grotesque nightmare where everything you have to do on the spot is clumsy and clunky feeling as a result lightening your attention just like you said!?
But for real though, I honestly found it with an Xbox one controller to be more aggravating than it was tension heightening!?!
But I’m gonna give it a second shot I’m also about to play that outlets game since you said it was better I actually have it and the whistleblower and number two…

Gotta say you definitely have the skill of how to completely keep a viewer focused in and entertained in your content. After reading alot of your comments on your videos I see alot of people saying the same thing, if you honestly stick to it and do this consistently im 100% sure you will hit the millions soon, once you gain traction and have a good catalogue of videos for new watchers to scroll through the algorithm will do you wonders. YES! VISAGE! The top of my favorite horror games nowadays. Before it was cry of fear btw.
BUT! These types of games are so rare and so awesome just because of one certain thing: they are not horror games anymore... They are FUCKING TERROR GAMES!
I was terrified to play the granny section and especially the boogyman section. I thought I will just throw this game out of the window, and when I actually finished it, the scent of pure terror haunted me for a few days. Great game, with an awesome review from an awesome guy!
I felt they actually kinda dropped the ball on the release, didn't feel as nearly scary as it definitely could have been. The first two chapters were good, but was hoping for a lot more. The visuals are. so. freaking. amazing. though. Cry of fear was awesome too.

@@ManleyReviews yeah, totally agree about the release. When I just bought this game it was already released, and firstly I tried the first two chapters, which were not nearly as scary as the last two. Hospital chapter gave me some hope, but meh... Still Dolores and Lucy chapters were the best ones.
Yeah, I've tried Lost in Vivo, but dripped it after i've met the train monster. Maybe I should not actually. Nonetheless never came back to this game. Should I give it a chance?

I loved lost in vivo because of the vibe and I was a little pussy playing it so it was scarier than it really was. yeah first horror game I could play. Had a real issue with them for whatever reason. But after that I got better at handling those games and now I feel like I could easily play any horror game. the Lucy chapter was awesome, and the doloras one was tight too, the others felt super weak though imo.
The train one is right when the game starts picking up a bit, but if you ain't digging it then maybe don't bother.

I got very aggravated with Visage, mainly due to the Super, Dump-Truck, Clunky-Trunk Controls, but also because the first Hour was just trying to figure out wtf to do? That, combined with the Archaic Controls really Gave me a Bad First impression.. Butt, I’m Re-Installing the game as I type this, gonna give it another shot because I absolutely Love Silent Hill and anything else that can cum Close☺️

About your video on Visage: you're right, this game is terryfing because it pulls on certain psychological effects which create on us the creepiest sensations we can feel playing a game, like a real experience who is happening to us! I tried to play Visage at night with headphones and lights down, but I was able to play just for ten minutes, not more...
i feel that visage is an underappreciated game. it's one of the few games that is cautious with it's use of jumpscares

I feel the same way about anything horror related. I'm usually scared of things other than plain gore, like small acts of violence of the body like eyes, fingers, toes, etc. Or some curse or whatever that fucks you up- like the cursed tapes in the movie Sinister. Mostly things that actually stick with me and keep me up at night.

@@ManleyReviews No jumpscares, no bullshit cliches, just amazing world building, unmatched atmosphere and art design, and organic buildup and payoff to create genuinely terrifying moments. I've played a lot of horror games but this is one of the few that actually got my heart pounding. Even pulled a scream or two out of me, which hasn't happened before. It's pretty cheap too and gives a good 10 to 13 hour long playthrough!
The spooky green screen ghost of truth has done it again, he’s shaved off a small portion of his brain and turned into a yummy gruel for me to enjoy.

if you cant stand horror then play fatal frame 1-3, 1 and 2 on the og xbox and 3 on the ps2, 1 and 2 are separate but 3 calls on them a lot so they're kind of required to get the full picture but 3 will break you, legit a doll looked at me and i didnt touch the game for nearly 2 weeks
