- The Surface Pro 11 now has the option for an OLED screen, there’s a fancy new Surface Pro ‘Flex’ Keyboard that can be used wired or wirelessly & it now exclusively features an ARM64-based Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus or Elite (X1E-80-100) processor. Here are my thoughts after spending some time with one.

Samsung has really nailed the display in the galaxy book edge snapdragon. Even though not very bright, it can be used outside because of the effective anti glare coating. Looks even better than the mini led in the MacBook pro
When it comes to displays, Samsung is known to not disappoint.
It's a shame that Samsung doesn't make a real competetor to the Surface Pro 11. The touch screens are truly useless if it can't convert into a tablet and use a pen.
$999 for a Surface Pro as fast as this is a great price. All Surface Pro keyboards from 8, 9, 10 and X work on the 11 and I think it is great that they now offer a range of keyboard choices in terms of functionality as well as colors. I splurged for the Flex without the pen because I already have a Slim Pen and it does provide a lot more options for use. Great review as always.
The wireless keyboard makes it more "lap" friendly, because you can set the surface on a nearby table or ledge, and then type on the keyboard that's on your lap.
It also can feel more stable, because if your laptop slips from your lap, you can do real damage to it, but if all you have is the keyboard on your lap and it falls, it's super light and it doesn't bend or flex really. So not much risk of damage. It's also not top heavy without the screen.
449 for a keyboard is mad crazzy MS!
What are you talking about if you actually see there web site they have all different options at least like 8 of them and most cost 100-200$ I think you have the wrong idea because people are buying the highest priced keyboard they have to offer
@@Space97.they prob know abt the lower tier, but 449 is crazy for a keyboard accessory
@@Zaidoesstuff gotcha 👍
The $449 keyboard comes with the pen. Thats cheaper than apples keyboard for $349 plus pencil pro for $140
@@JakeBaconDigitalthe keyboard is $100 not $300…
On the note of spending a lot of money on something and expecting things to work. Coming from someone who daily drives an iPad, even with emulation issues, this can do a lot more than that, and for a lot cheaper if you want 16 GB of ram in an iPad
I really like that you are pointing out the small details. Also as a computer science student I love my Pro 8 because of it's flexibility
Lmao i thought it was a Jerry Rick everything vid for the thumbnail 😂😂😂😂
Jerry Rick?
This is the type of device I have been waiting for! I am still using my old Galaxy Tab S7+ but have always wanted a tablet sized device that can double as a laptop. It sounds like they are getting close and this one may just be an acceptable compromise.
God it looks amazing, I really wish I had the budget for it. Windows on Arm is pretty impressive
what you gonna do with it? watch youtube? browsing? because for any serious workflow its not powerful enough, and screen is so bad, cant even look at the text. thats why it has 3 stars on amazon
@onebigfamily2446 Good points. However, as a retiree, I just need a slim and light 13 inch device to take on extended travel. My main uses are email, browsing, streaming, minimal banking, and minimal MS office. Ironically, my Galaxy Tab S7 tablet will suffice. It just doesn't have a keyboard. My SP8 does it all, but it's a bit slow. The SP11 might be a good upgrade for me. Too bad I can't re-use my SP8 keyboard.
@@onebigfamily2446 windows on arm would be great once optimized. macbooks are still just far better in terms of performance for everyday use. battery life and support from apple is just insane.
Thx4 da review!!!!
Excellent review. As you say, the Surface Pro X-Plus at $999 is the best option, as the OLED is too expensive for the extra benefits. If you have an old compatible keyboard like me, that keeps the cost down even more.
After the hype, Snapdragon on ARM is underwhelming, and I suggest that people wait for Gen 2, which will have better GPUs and efficiency cores. By then, compatibility will improve along with drivers for printers and such. Even Google Drive doesn't run on Snapdragon X chips, which is a problem.
If Google services dont work is a No-Go for me
Excellent review 👏
great review Thao 👍👍👍👍
Best reveiw ever👍 specially when you compare it to surface pro 9 side by side, no body else doin that idk whats wrong with other youtuber lol
Wow, that OLED display look gorgeous, much better than the crappy display I am using right now.
Awesome review
Great review.
My birthday coming can I get that old keyboard? The blue one?
Hope a matt screen protector can fix the horrible glear 😮
when are you going to post about the surface laptop 7
Nice review. I opted for the Microsoft Surface Laptop (7) with the Snapdragon Plus (versus the elite). In short, I have found it to perfect my use case. That said, my use case for the Surface Laptop is confined to watching video, social media and general productivity apps. Everything I need works well. Performance for my use equals or exceeds a similarly configured Intel Core Ultra 7 plus the bonus of more than 15 hours of typical battery use.
When I need 'tablet' functionality and better compatibility, I reach for my Samsung 13.3" Book3 2-in1. It gives me fantastic handwriting capability, surprisingly long battery life (about 8-9 hours). I was sad that Samsung discontinued the 13.3 form factor when they released their Book4 series. For heavy lifting with no compatibility issues, I use my HP X360 Specter. Perfect all around device for almost any use.
Given the high price tag, I can't see the Microsoft Surface Pro as a good solution, particularly with the compatibility problems and comparatively limited battery life. There may be a better argument for the $999 Snapdragon Plus version, but even then there are just so many compromises over a traditional 2-in-1.
the latency might be because of one note.... that one is a nightmare when compared to something like good notes
I just did a price comparision of both Pro 9 and Pro 11 with both having 32gb of ram and 1TB for SSD, and the price is relatively the same on Amazon. And it appears just as said in this review, Pro 11 is better in terms of display and battery efficiency. So, it's as if the market is trying to make it preferable to buy Pro 11.
Great review, thank you very much. Makes sense that they went all-in on ARM: they're playing to the strengths of the form-factor. I have an SP8 that I finally retired because it's a sub-par tablet compared to a high-end Samsung and it's a third-rate gaming platform. Switched to the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 (Z13 = Intel) and it's great for gaming. For travel I take it and the standard Tab S9: the Z13 Flow provides a great, very compact productivity/gaming platform, and the Tab S9 is an outstanding media/browsing device.
Great review but in Mac for life, the new surfaces are starting to get kinda good
Any idea if there are issues installing Intel compatible applications? On the original Surface Pro X, I couldn't install VPN applications so wondering if this now works with the emulation.
It should be much better, but gonna still be hit or miss. I use Surfshark and they have a Windows ARM version. What VPN do you use, I can try to test to see if it installs for you.
@@Thao thanks for the quick response! I tried with both Private Internet Access (PIA) and NordVPN.
Love your channel btw. Always appreciate the Samsung views and Canadian perspective. 🇨🇦
No luck on NordVPN
@@Thao thanks for checking. I guess I'll continue to wait... Maybe the Nord/PIA will be motivated with the greater adoption of ARM laptops.
I think that keyboard should come included.
Basically we are looking for Android capabilities to windows .However we may give second thought considering the form factor and detachable keyboard
Except from those programs that are not supported, it's an impressive device! :)
Awesome review 👏 👌 👍🏼 thanks Thoe 👍🏼 😊 🙏 😎
Can you review Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 please? :)
Can someone tell me the main difference. I have the surface pro 9 i7 16 gigs of ram. Should I keep that or get this? The OLED screen looks amazing! I don’t really know the difference between intial and ARM.
If you care about performance and efficiency, get the newer Surface Pro. Also depends on the apps you use.
Google has been lagging in their support which is odd because most of their software is arm based
How I dream to have a surface pro it would be so useful for my studying Y^Y specially cause I have no phone
'Webcam not too shabby'...what an understatement! Only iPad pro can compare imo
Even with all the issues around app drivers for non-Microsoft apps, a highly underrated feature of Snapdragon X Elite laptops is the amazing RAM speed. 8447 Mhz/s is the fastest in the business. Yes, faster than M chip MacBooks too. This leads to the snappiest experience juggling multiple apps and browser tabs with 16 to 32GB of RAM.
Still can’t scroll smoothly
What a beautiful device!
What is the wallpaper at 1:42?
I'm curious too!
The BEST REVIEW up to now. Finally, someone who shows how this device really works in everyday life. And btw, a so beautiful girl too :-)
I dont know why Apple pencil or S pen should be better than Slim pen 2. I never liked Apple pencil, since its big, the place for the pencil on top of the iPad isn't great solution (slimpen is safely covered in keyboard), Slimpen has eraser on the back, no tapping on buttons needed. And most importantly, drawing with Apple pencil on glass screen really feels like just drawing with some plastic on a glass. not good. While drawing with Slim pen really feels like drawing on a paper. Thanks to tactile signals and soft surface of the pen tip. Both support tilt effect drawing. And latency on one note is really worse than "OneNote for Windows 10"
And there are many touch gestures that we can use, one of them is treefinger up to show taskview, or just swipe from bottom to up, and you open the Start menu. And three finger down to minimize all aps
The keyboard and pen for this Surface, and also the same for IPad Pro are just absurd. More than 400 for a stylus and a keyboard? Nonsense. Besides that, real nice machine this new version with Snapdragon.
Can you get 64GB memory? Or at least 32GB?
Up to 32GB of RAM
@@Thao Cool, it can be a nice development machine.
I'm more concern about battery life
So it is worth the upgrade from the surface pro 9 I guess
The next step for Microsoft Windows - a redesigned OS. Boom! Instantly more user friendly for tablets and PC.
After that, Microsoft smartphones are coming back! But with much better implementation.
I'm looking at a future where Microsoft, Apple, and Google each have complete ecosystems. And maybe even the arrival of new players in the market. 😌
Let's give them about 5 to 7 years. 😉
Can i pls get a free surface pro 11 or any kind of laptop that can help me with my coding for college cause my current laptop is old and can't even work with vscode or any type of code editor so pls that would really help. I'm all the way in Africa.
So NO Surf Pro 10??? LOL I stll have some Reservations on the Qualcom Processors.
I don't like the gold color
Congrats for spending half the video on the display without telling us the RESOLUTION !!!
Sounds a lot better than the pointless iPad pro. Also lack of gaming is no loss on a computer
Except the iPad Pro is still a much better tablet than this device
@@Isengardtom but the surface is a much better alround device and runs a much more useful operating system. It can stream video, browse the internet, process emails and so it can do 99% of what you do on a tablet
Imagine Apple IPad pro running MacOS. It will kill this laptop
Too bad you have to imagine
Love bite on neck 😂
when I am on the boat.. I cannot already relate to this review
Palm rejection or not?
Bettery performance remains poor
19th comment yippeeeeeeeeee
Their laptops are much better looking. I hate this design.
still the lapability argument out there.... ai e not used on my lap any device in 10 years or more.... things to move on from the non issue
Wait so this isn’t good for gaming or video editing? Then wtf is the point in this and why is it so expensive???
this is certainly not for whiney brokies like you
i have a pro 9 but i hate it
In about 5 years Arm PCs will be worth it. Now. Just a few apps. Lol
Maybe its just me but its never better than an Ipad but always more expensive, if I want windows id just go got a regular laptop where I get better hardware for cheaper.
Its just you
i rather buy this than that dumb overpriced thing called Fold6
If there's no hinge i don't want it, just a tablet with a keyboard option no thanks. A real laptop will stay up on it's own when sitting in your lap, hence the name.
First.
Also, great review.
Windows is suck as a tablet
First comment 🎉
It feels gud to be first 😌
iPad pro are way better than all 2 in 1 devices
It's not the same purpose at all.
better for what? for watch movies?😂
@@damienxie9939 better for both as big phone or laptop mini
Over priced waste of money not good as MacBook pros
It is not supposed to compete with the MacBook Pro it is the competitor to iPad Pro, the competitor for the MacBook Pro is the Surface Laptop Studio
@@tomiwaolayinka-osho7329 same goes for iPad pro.ipad pro is much better then this Microsoft product way better no chance I'm going to waste 1400$ for this shit
"tiny bit more latency"
I could literally tell from just the video that the latency is horrendous.
It's 12ms vs 9ms on the SPen & Apple Pencil
