i think for an actual real world applicable durability test, you guys should do actual powerslides with breaks inbetween, so the polyurethane has time to cool off.
right now the cooldown periods are determined by how long you can hang onto the back of the car and the indoor ride test, which isnt consistent across the different products, would be dope to see the durability tests be a little more scientific! still super entertaining to watch tho, u guys rock! test out 86a ricta cloud wheels please!!
Yes clouds!
Yes! we need some real power slide tests! Wish I could just volunteer, love me some sketchy hill bombs.
100%
got a point. could be more accurate
but at the same time they're having fun, which is enjoyable content to watch.
love your videos guys! quality is great. run-n-gun style filming makes the audience feel like they are there hanging with you. Also, digging the consumer advice of the wheel tests! I'd bet you could start a whole second channel just reviewing skate gear. Super useful for skaters of all levels.
Gotta make sure they’re the conical full shape on the form4s! They slide way better and last a lot longer than others. Wider contact patch!
Just got some OG Classics and the concave is deeper than the conicals, they both skate the same
You guys are doing great, as always! On a constructive note -since you said you’re focusing on video quality- you should test out (and maybe even review?) some equipment that helps with camera stabilization! They make great, light, small mounts now that would allow Gabe to focus on tracking and framing instead of focusing on keeping things still. (I think I’d be able to watch more of your videos with my wife, but she gets motion sickness and the unpredictable camera movements don’t do her any favors.) Just something to consider!
I had always been a Ricta guy myself after getting back into skating in my 20's but as a kid skated alot of Bones or Slimeballs. When recently picked skating up once again in my early 40's I decided to try out OJ's due to all the hype (Made by Santa Cruz/Slimeballs) and have really like the soft Plain Jane's and harder Elites depending type of skating. I had bought several pairs of the new Dragon wheels and still on first pair.
Edit: Test out some Bridgebolts for truck hardware if STILL make them or can find any online, or do a hardware/bushings shootout.
Love seeing you in the skate shop. Also got a quad of ff's I haven't even opened. Riding my ricta clouds still
Longest boardslide on the roughest most unskateable ledges you cant find, using board protector thingies like Andy Anderson uses, but test different ones. Same with those oldschool tail protectors, test them on tailslides. I'd love to see you guys put older stuff through the paces, or even oldschool influenced newers stuff along with innovations or technology like Aaron mentioned about those trucks that can grind anything. In general we need more bumbling around stores material, so more skate everything wars too.
Board protector thingies!!! Lol i love it but the word you were looking for is deck-rails!
@@HellYeahBud NO, we test the board protector thingies, not deck-rails. But yes, this would be a super sick test
@@HellYeahBud mine rolls off the tongue better
Awesome video! Love the daily uploads!
Make a skateboard with a chair
Lol
We did one with office chair wheels, but do you mean put trucks and wheels on a chair this time?
@@brailleskateboarding yes
@@brailleskateboarding Sounds neat
@@brailleskateboarding yes, chair board 🛹
I havent stepped on a board in over 15 years... But i make sure to watch every video yall put out. My first set up was an enjoi 7.75 with the tensors and spits... Daewon and rodney all day. Spitfires on bones... 24/7
Dang that’s a good set up
Love tensor trucks
I got the hint that we’re getting a tensor mag lite video in the future!
I know Bev is injured in Europe right now, but they’re the dude that properly does these trucks justice in how easily they grind rough ledges
Tensor mag lite OfF tEh BrAiLlE dRaWp
You should do this with the Ricta Cloud 92a wheels. They would be the direct competitor to the Dragon wheels.
The trucks you talked about at the start of the video sound intriguing.... would definitely wanna see you test those out.
You guys should try thunder hollow trucks, their what I use on my board and I don’t know if I can can feel a difference between hollows and regular trucks, would be nice to se a test on them!
I can’t feel no difference in the way they skate, the hollow apparently makes them stronger
Love that y’all shouted out Orbits! Beeen a faithful since before Saul owned it! Love that place!
I've ridden every wheel and the dragons have been my favorite, been riding daily for 6 months now and barely have any wear or cuts in them
Been following you guys since like day 1, just awesome how far Brail has come. Sware, you guys need to be in a skateboard video game of you aren't already haha.
Following since day one, but can’t spell braille?
Loving the vibe these days, reminds me more of classic braille
I have skated with bones or spitfire wheels for decades. I know all wheel companies are coming out with new polymers. Nice video.
does the durometer make in difference in wear? with the F4s at 99a and the dragons on the durometer of 93a
foot was directly above wheel and board wasn’t letting the wheel spin which forced it to just keep sliding in the same spot the way they resist flat spots is even when you power slide they keep rolling and give and even amount of wear but when the wheel was forced to stop moving the wheel flat spotted
would love to see Snot wheels put to the test! Seem like great up and coming wheels really gaining popularity
i traded mine for dragons and i will never go back
You guys are doing awesome!
Yeah test the magnesium trucks that grind the chunkiest stuff with no wax. Also it’s be cool to call back to bamboo skateboards to see if they’ve changed up
Play a game of skate where the deck has no grip tape, and slippery shoes or just socks.
I think a true fair test would to compare them on same day same weather and same temp of blacktop. I like these videos
Nigel always has the cookies merch.
I'd love to go dab for dab with that man.
Mine haven't flat spotted but they have definitely worn down a lot more than they would lead you to believe, still love my tablets though
I’ve had mine for 2 years it’s crazy how they like even flat spot in each sude
So if the dragon wheels are built a specific way Inside and outside, is it a bad idea to turn them around with the white side facing out and the graphic side facing in like everybody does? Are they specifically made for the graphic side to be out? Or vice versa? 🤔
I'm pretty sure they are symmetrical, or, very close to it. I have the 56mm Widecut ones. I don't think it matters
I have my formula 4s for 6 months and I powerslide alot but they still dont have flat spots
whether you get flatspots or not depends on your slide technique, ie. whether you lock your wheels into a full 90° slide, where they will not rotate and therefore flatspot. OR if you keep your slides under 90° and keep them rotating throughout the slide...... thereby preventing flatspots entirely. it is impossible to flatspot a rotating wheel
That's the secret. That's also how to slide properly doing downhill skateboarding. Nobody does 90 degree slides while going downhill for that reason and of course to not get "stuck" while sliding through a corner
Do you have a video that shows the benefits of tail guards? I have a cruiser that I use for pump tracks if I put tail guard and nose guard on it will affect my ollies?
Please help me discover what wheels are best for dusty indoor floors and MDF ramps. Does durometer make a difference or would a really narrow wheel have more pounds per square inch and bite better? Love the vids!
I like the dragon wheel 93a peralta, 👌
both soft and hard,
I skate on a dusty wooden floor mostly
Make the perfect skateboard set up, lithe skateboard deck, hollow independent trucks, ceramic red bearings, mob grip tape, and dragon powerel wheels. 🐉 try to break everything on it like the deck, wheels, trucks and at the end put everything on fire.🔥
You had me at fire
always love chill skate shop guys
Don't know if you've already tried these, but would love to see you try out the Revenge trucks
I think it would be cool if y’all embarked on the journey to find the best trucks or bearings
Curious what the price is down there for those wheels?
I just bought the conical full 55mm 101a formula 4's from Spitfire.
They were $74.99 at my local shop in BC Canada.
42.95 at Zumiez!
@@deathkid007 crazy.
what is the significance of putting the wheels on with the graphic on the inside? is there a practical reason to do that?
All you had to do was take em wheels to a sand belt with a 5 or 10# weight on. But the car tow is certainly more entertaining haha.. Non-conventional testing is definitely more thrilling haha
Do a video on kingpins, which ones snap easiest, hardest, lengths, short, grind king, regular, ridiculously long kingpin for fun etc.
Thanks for the idea!
Bro make a video about different types of wheels! I have a skateboard, and the wheels are kind of rubber its hard to ride on barcelona public areas !!
When I was like sixteen there was a lady that worked the tattoo shop she offered to taper my ear I bought some gauges there she was so awesome she wasn't gentle about it at all but she was very friendly lmao
I've always liked spitfire wheel's and bearings
Can you do the same test on bones wheels like the stf?
Definitely need to see the wheels I rock and how they stand up. Acid REM Formula
Which wheels do I get that are better for tricks but can handle rough areas. That can keep some decent speed (size and durability)
Cool and those wheels look fun for testing Braille
I’ve been wanting to learn to skate since I was 8 I’m almost 17 now I’m finally getting a board to learn!!
Awesome!!
@@brailleskateboarding I used to scoot at my local, it’s probably one of the worst parks to exist but it will just do!
Hey Braille Army love the videos. I think if you would do a quick recap at the end of the video and rate the product it would benefit the videos. Thanks Dudes.
Good point!
Graphite in bearings... I did mine months ago.. and they roll like 🥰
Even after getting wet.. they still glide
Dixon's microfyne graphite
Please do a comparison test of leather vs canvas shoes. Vans perhaps... 100 kickflips per or so should do it.
You guys should do the same thing but with the og spitfire formula🤙
Just do big backside 90s and land toes heavy getting wheel bite, that’s be a real world test.
Id like to see y’all experiment with an aluminum deck. As a kid I had a friend that had and aluminum deck, pretty sure it was a mystery board.
Hey braille my names Ethan I’m 13 and I just wanted to thank you guys I have been watching you guys for a long time and I finally started skating this year and one day I want to make a skateboarding channel like yours
I don’t know what that is
The dude at the skateshop was super chill
Can you use a lathe to make those wheels perfectly round again? Hmmm. Worth a shot.
Braile you guys should do full park game of skate with flat spot wheels only other than that great video
To be fair you put more weight on it because lower center of gravity. However I don’t think you would be able to slide with the other car because I think the softness makes it tougher to slide
You need to do a review the tensor mag lights that’s all I skate with a carbon deck donut wheels and reds bearings
Never thought the higher end spitfires made a difference, I skate spitfire big heads and they’re solid for the price
I do a lot of power slides and have never flat spotted formula 4, I think the last wheels I ever flat spotted was them bones 100s I feel them wheels are for when I’m broke and need a cheap set of wheels though
bones and spitfire cost the same though
@@AndySo2000the 100’s are cheaper than bones x and dragons
I just bought these wheels haven’t tried em yet. I skate transition mostly. 56mm. They look decent to me
How about a scooter mounted to a skateboard? Or maybe a handle in the middle to do grabs?
so glad to see you back mr. kyro great video 🤘
Thanks
I am guessing somebody said this somewhere in comments, but just incase. If the trucks were tighter and wheel bite didn't lock them into one spot, they might not have flat spotted.
What about old wheels like from the 80s or late 80s early 90s how old they hold up
you guys should try to make a sled skateboard, the board part is the sled and the rest are on the bottom of the sled!
I skated Spitfire wheels in 1991 on a Jeremy Klein set up I do believe they would flat spot pretty easy.
As much as I want to suggest something like Orangatang Caguamas, they will most definitely shred to bits under this kind of testing, but would still be fun to watch you guys ride wheels that are 85mm wide in diameter. More realistically, I would nominate Bones STF 103a V5 Sidecut Wheels or Bones SPF 84B(comparable to 104a I think). I'm mainly suggesting these since I don't see many wheels go that high in duro.
do a review on the trucks that slide without wax. what were they called again?
Cool vid maybe you could put normal skateboard trucks on a ripstick I think that might be cool !
Yous need to test OJ wheels 101a or the OJ plane janes 87a PLEASE 🙏
Can you test the braille mini logo wheels?!
The Mega Test is why you guys are undisputed professionals
hi can u help me cos when i ollie i always hurt my legs and ankles when i do it flat :)
Test the Dickies double knee work pant to see how they hold up bailing.
See if it's easier to break a board with or without riser pads. Build 2 identical completes, 1 with and 1 without riser pads and have a double "don't break the board" game.
Do Ricta's 101a premium urethane next (such as the "Reflective" models)
ima agree with Nigel I was bones for awhile but switched up to the sf formula 4 size 54 to be exact never went back
Why do you prefer that size? Wondering if I should switch from 52mm.....
@@brailleskateboarding well I skate street just a lot smoother ride too me
can you test / review the giger pants pretty please?
I dont have an idea what weels I have. My grandma gave me a skatebord when i was 8 and ive been using the same for 5 years.
Hi! Can you test the tensor trucks pls)
Are those Lucky Bearings in the picture? I haven't seen those in so long!
Can you compare the OJ nomads next 53mm 95a. See how they compare to dragon wheels.
Hi it’s Eli in late August I went for a lesson at the warehouse and met Aron and JD
1:42 you guys literally have skated those before lol
the tensor mags? its even in one of the line x videos. i remember because it was the lightest truck on the heaviest board
Can you do this with OJ nomads? They’re 95a
braille my day one gees you should make grip gum wheels! griptape cleaner is super bouncy so it should make a great video😄
Make a board with every different kind of wheel on the trucks. I.e a cruiser wheel on one side of one truck with a normal wheel on the other and a extra small wheel with a longboard wheel on the other side
its really sick how the two wheel that had less pressure on them didnt flat spot at all they were rolling as you were sliding
Lol Aaron's face when Nigel hit the vert ramp with no helmet.
This is the new version of the baseball card in the spokes. Sounds pretty cool!
Of you want trucks that will grind anything then make a titanium base insert. Aluminum is sticky, even a high carbon insert will grind well. All you need is a simple milling machine.
are these wheels soft on landing? cush for old people knees
How to not get flatspots:
Stop doing power slides constantly.
It's like razor tail at the end of the day if you drag the tail to slow down it bound to happen.
do you guys think you could review avenue suspension trucks
Try mini logo 101a wheels. Its under powell peralta corporation. Might be a cheaper substitute for powell dragon wheels
You should do a video where you use the most largest trucks and the most smallest wheels
