  • @PHeMoX
    @PHeMoX Před 3 lety +24

    I'd say the Conical Fulls are actually the best wheels for street skating. Especially the 99A ones in like 53mm or so. I strongly disagree suggesting the thinnest riding surface wheels are good for street skating, you'll feel every bump and get stuck more easily. And technical skating comes down more to the size of the wheel, less the shape. The width changes nothing, even when it can increase weight. And is beneficial to locking into ledges, benches and so on. And if you're riding with shock absorbers / riser pads on your skateboard, I'd say the Spitfire Formula Four Conical Fulls 101A are easily the best all round wheel (street, park, bowl, locking into ledges and so on, everything). If your streets are nothing but super rough with tiles sticking out, get 54mm (or bigger, like 56mm) 99A ones instead if street is mostly all you do. Yes bigger wheels will flip slightly slower, but nothing you couldn't work with really.
    I noticed I really do like the Ricta Clouds 92A for streets a lot too, but at 52mm that I've got they're on the tiny side for when streets get really uneven. Your knees aren't going to love it. And there's too sticky for smooth skate park surfaces, even when they do kind of slide somewhat.

      Conical fulls really seem like the best. I have 52 mm formula 4 classics and they are phenomenal in the park.
      After just a couple sessions I decided spitfire formula 4 are the best wheels.

  • @topdeckdog
    @topdeckdog Před 2 lety +1

    Great video, but i'm still confused. I skate tranny in smooth concrete parks. I have a small bag of tricks on the mini, far less on the 4ft mini and quick in/out backside grinds on shallower pool coping in the bowl. In other words, i'm intermediate, scared of coping but know i need to get better at it and am thinking of stepping up to a 9" (board from 8.5") in the search of further stability and confidence. I ride Spitfire radials at the moment because I was told I might not hang up as much. Is this true or am i on the wrong wheel? Thank you!
    Oh yeah, and what exactly do you mean by "control"?

    • @LarryJuan_
      @LarryJuan_ Před 2 lety +1

      Radials are good for all around skating for bowls and transition I lock in more when I skate the conical full 54mm and up
      Also the og classics which they make in formula four now. Any 54mm and up will be good for transition.
      Oh yeah he means control as in turning wise when you speed check or carve it responds how you want it to

    dude I need help really badly with what wheel from here to get. heres some information that could be helpful: I will not be going to skateparks cuz theyre not near me (so no smooth surfaces) I will be doing tricks like kickflips/ollies in my driveway (which is not a smooth serface) its bumpy and theres some rocks. I mainly ride in the street, which as yk isnt very smooth. what type of wheel should I get from spitfire (like size and the kind of wheel)? I was thinking 53mm or 54mm but I dont know about the style (like conical, lockins etc)

      Do some soft chargers if you're just cruising around and skating on rough surfaces! They're great!

      Slims bro, more contact patch on em and that in turn will make the ride a little bit smoother

    for transition and bowls should I use a 99D or 101D? I always had this doubt which durometer to use on wooden or concrete skateparks

      Usually people who ride all transition will go with the harder 101 wheels, they're faster on hard smooth surfaces. The one thing with that, if it's a really slippery wooden ramp, the 99's will give you little more grip on the ramp. Hope this helps!

    Hey,

      OG Classics have a suuuper wide conical shape! But they are asymmetrical, so kinda similar to the lock ins. The best view of them is on one of the product pages we have for them: shop.shredzshop.com/spitfire-og-classics-wheels-52.html
