I want to see a series where every Braille member sits down and builds their perfect board and explains exactly why it is their perfect setup for the way they skate. All brand new stuff down to the hardware and bearings, explain deck width, wheel hardness, truck tightness, all that.
This comment here should be taken seriously. Would be an excellent and educational video.
oh man, same here. As a new skater, I can never tell if my trucks are too tight or not tight enough!
There would have to be an episode for each rider, but I LOVE that
that would be an awesome series of videos. i second this then!
Everybody already knows those things
I have the 56mm dragon formula and I love them. Being a older skater that is forty. A softer wheel is soooo much nicer on my knees and allow me to skate longer.
Me to man,I’m 43 love em
I meant to say that even at my age, a softer wheel is definitely welcome as far as not hurting my back when I skate over cracks. 😅
I’m 33 and just got these as well. I don’t skate much at parks and do mostly parking lot skating. The pavement around my area is brutal for the majority of wheels but the dragons handle them like a hot knife through butter. If anyone is still on the fence on these wheels, trust the reviews and get them!
@@11bangbang402 Thanks dude. I was doubtful that they could actually match the comfort of sub-90A wheels, but I'm gonna try them out now.
Bones X is out now and seems like it has harder wheel traits
I love that you guys went to a local skate shop, and then are just testing the products! What a shoutout to the shop and the hardware! Super enjoyed this concept.
Yes, those wheels changed skateboarding for me. I'm 38yo and have been searching for a compromise of softness and slide for more than 20 years cause there is no skatepark in my area and the asphalt is pretty rough. I tried a lot of different wheels, wasted soo much money on them and finally came to the conclusion that there is no soft-slidey-wheel-hybrid. When the dragon formulas came out i immediately bought them and was SOOO surprised that PP really made it possible. I love them!
There’s many many many soft wheels that slide
That being said I’m really excited to try the dragons, wish they made 60s or at least 58s though

Hehe pp
My Dragon Wheels arrived yesterday, and I already love them. I can now skate the uneven streets to get to my local concrete skatepark, before skating the park. I was a bit nervous that they wouldn't grip when needed, but they do, yet they powerslide with the greatest of ease. As someone who struggles to Ollie, these wheels actually make ollies easier compared to Spitfire 99a; they bounce and give you a softer landing.
They really are amazing
How durable were they in long term?
@@brailleskateboardinggl; it's great hearing you & your street skating discipline community going gaga over Powell Peralta slide centric wheels after we in the downhill freeride/freestyle skating world have lived & been overwhelmingly industry loyal to powellperaltaDH for over a decade specifically for that red set of SoftSlideFormula GSlides you were checking at the counter....the Powell thane characteristics drove our discipline to new levels of performance in slide . It's humorous cuz we've been saying this for that long but it took Powell specifically marketing these with claims to entice testing like yours to kick it into gear( edit: for the popsicle board community)....
yeah ,Powell is heads & tails above all other skate wheel vendors by a large degree .
That would be awesome to see you guys do that with the formula fours it would also be cool to see the G slides as well or a pair of longboard wheels
Some Peralta Snakes too, very often used for longboard sliding
Bones STF the park wheels they have too
Recently switched to Dragon Wheels from Bones STF 99a, and for the crusty streets in my neighborhood, it's like night and day. Gnarly spots I had to walk my board over are now skateable. Plus I have to push way less. Amazing wheels.
Yes they are amazing
Do it with formula fours i would like to see the outcome
Yes
Agreed 👍
Yes
I would imagine that sliding on them would be a lot harder
@@brailleskateboarding hey idk if it's you guys but someone is pretending to be you guys and faking giveaway scam
Thanks for doing this. After seeing Andy Anderson do an info clip on these and riding them all over New York this past summer I quickly bought a set (56MM). I just through on some Spitfire Classics 99a 60mm wheels a month before. So after watching your clip here I'll look forward to using them up the road.
I took a deep dive into skateboard wheels and polyurethane chemistry this morning and I guess now I'm an amateur-expert. I come away with massive, massive respect for Bones/P&P. I think they are on another level than the rest of the industry. Experience and technical expertise right from the top of the company.
“I’ve learned some interesting things along the way since the first Bones urethane back in the 70s. Urethanes are basically divided into two families of isocyanates. You have to understand the chemistry of urethane wheels in order to kind of understand where people like me go and what we do to get a better wheel. I think I said once a long time ago, ‘You can’t build high-performance products without high-performance materials.’ That’s been more or less true." - George Powell, 2001
Yes! mad respect for George as he is always looking to push quality and make improvements
Love these wheels! Put some on my deck first, then promptly put some on my wife's board. Really comfortable and well balanced wheels, we use them for practicing tricks on the drive as well as cruising around the sub on asphalt and concrete. A very comfortable all around wheel for my over 40 bones. Super smooth ride and holding up great so far!
Sweet vid Aaron man! It tells so much. Just a heads up! That's a lot of vibration transferred into the spine from this test. Gloves are a must! I've been specialising in hip and spine remediation research recently due to car accident.
I’ve been waiting for a vid to drop all day yay!
Glad to see y’all using the beginner completes! I asked about them on multiple videos!

After thinking about it, and seeing you also do the Spitfire F4's, I have a suggestion. You should do this with the Ricta Cloud 92a wheels. They would be the direct competitor with the Dragon wheels.
EXACTLY!
I have them and they are so versatile and just mind blowing how well they slide for soft wheels.
I love to see peralta still inventing new stuff in the skate industry. From the flight decks to these dragon wheels they have blown other deck companies out of the water in many ways. And they been innovating since the 70s or 80s I believe. Awesome to see
Thanks for the testing and feedback on these dragon 🐉 wheels. I just completed and purchased a custom set up on a new board with these wheels. The manager from So Cal Skateshop recommended them so I look forward to trying them out this weekend!
I've been skating formula 4's 52mm after the mini logo wheels I was familiar with kept popping off the bearings. I love them. They slide well, but are still grippy. Before I kept sliding out on transition, but since I upgraded I haven't had that issue.
I still slide out on transition with F4's at some parks, just depends on the concrete, the Dragons really do make a big enough difference that when it comes time to switch it'd be worth at least looking at them if available.
I love my dragon wheels.. pushing almost 40 here and the impact absorption is the best thing ever..
I love boarding! I'm actually a bladder but your vids are sick. Much love.
Blader lol.*
That video is so sick !!! 😆
I'd love so much to go to California to have fun with you crazy guys !! 😜
I want to see the formula 4s in a test because they say they never flatspot
only ever flatspotted one set before, but the flatspot was very minimal and rolled away after a few days.
Been skating formula 4's for 3 years now and never flat spotted. I've super flat spotted every other wheel I've skated - Ricta, OJ's and Autobahn's
If you go to a park you can here the people with spitfire, their flatspots sound loud haha.
I just put some on my board and went skating and, these wheels are a game changer. I was skating on some pretty rough ground and, it felt like I was on a cruiser board.
Saw the how to video on Fuel TV, you guys are almost becoming respectable. ;)
They are very nice. I’m skating the 56MM Dagons and they are very smooth, fast and do slide. I put them against Formula Fours and they both rock! But I am getting used to the speed and smooth ride I get from the Powell-Peralta Dragon Wheels.
Definitely try this with F4's and any others like speed test for the OJ's Elite EZ Edge.
Hey thanks for all the hard worck to bring us so many vids
You’re welcome
I got a set of dragon 54s and when I went to set them up on the blank side 2 out of the 4 were not routed in the bearing pocket. Took them back to the shop and exchanged them for another set and the second set had the same QC defect. Ended up with some Spitfires.
I love these for street as I usually skate on the softer side (F4's 97a). But I kept sliding out on transition causing a few gnarly slams. I didn't really trust them on transition and went back to F4's with no issue. They are great for street though! Anyone else experience this? Maybe it's just my skating. But I do agree that everyone should have a pair of these in their bag.
I've had those OJs Plain Janes for about a year on my board and I absolutely love them. I just cruise and don't do any park, but they're great for that!
Those are key frames not plain janes they are filmer wheels.
@@therover4141 oh really? I thought they were called the "Plain Jane Keyframe", didn't know there was a difference
Just got a pair of these, getting back into skating after a year off and a severe injury. I have Formula 4's on my current setup (from a while ago) and decided to freshen things up for starting again :) I heard these help with impact as they are soft, which will help my bones / ankles
Ive got them and I’ve been skating them ever since they dropped everyday and they definitely are the best wheels I have ever had !!! It’s the best of both worlds hard and soft wheels
I bought a set to put on a new board set up. They’re are awesome. Went and got another set for my sons board. Very nice smooth wheels they definitely grip and ride smooth but also slide when you want them to.
Once they heated up from round about powerslide without really any cool down time it was completely over wit hahaha... Interesting wheels though for sure... I think these are the perfect wheel for people who want to skate whatever whenever without having to keep a backpack with them with their skatepark wheels with them or there street wheels with them.. I guess what im the most curious about with these wheels is how long does it take for them to start to cone and need to be rotated after regular skate use... When I think of these wheels and how they might feel I picture my Spitfire 80HDs that glow in the dark... I swear those wheels felt soft as heck as a roller/cruiser but they would still powerslide like butter anywhere you tried them... The thing about the Spitfires they def coned fast... Id like to see a video comparison with the Spitfire 80HDs Classic chargers (Glow in the dark ones just cuz those are the only ones I can speak on) and these Powell Dragon formulas...
I just got the dragon wheels for my birthday and they are my new favorite wheels ever!
Skateboard science! This is dope I might get these for my next setup
I'm in my fortys and just flat spotted my bones bucky 104a learning axle stall to fakie on my ply mini ramp , will these be anygood on a ply ramp as a replacement for my buckys?
finally got a pair, and they pretty much are perfect for me and for my style of skating. im impressed, but maaan im tired now. was out just about all day and had back pains. but final day before rain once more. so yeah had to go hard ahaha, and i can only say if u are street skater then these are that Boooomb! i recommend them big time
Ever since I put these wheels on I can’t land anything I used to with any consistency and it’s so frustrating cause I love how they ride so much 😢
I honestly haven't had a chance to try them yet, but by every description that I'm digesting they seem like what I recall of the original Bullet 66's from 1990-ish. Is it impossible for it to be a formula that's actually being re-introduced?
I love the testing videos.I want a tutorial video on the 10 most stylihs beginer triks
🤔I’ll see what I can come up with
I tried the Dragons, but the Rictas Clouds are still my favorite for the street!
I got a set of 52mm and im stoked on em, i usually ride spitfire classics 52mm
You need the spitfire formula four conical full wheels for that kinda test. For downhill the powell peralta wheels are great
I want to see more of these ULTIMATE TEST VIDEOS team braille 4 life.
I will always love to see test that you guys do. I am one who wants the best bang for the buck and can't afford to play around for years just to see what works.
We got you 😂
@@brailleskateboarding testing trucks would be cool too. But not sure exactly how you test that as I don't do many tricks
Next time you do this test you should use a mixed set. Get two pairs of wheels and put them on so that the toe side nose wheel matches the heel side tail wheel and vice versa.
Aaron you need to ride these for about a week and see how much better your back feels. they are a life saver dude
How much vibration do they soak up? Are they smoother than the oj's? How would they compare to a 78a wheel? Thanks
These dragon wheels are no joke. They perform so well, especially on crusty up north streets if you know you know.
I love these wheels and yes you do gotta do this with formula fours
I'd love to see you test aggressive inline wheels on a board
Love power sliding and riding just feels nice to slide around and have fun
Yes, I would like to see that of the bones stf and the formula 4s as well.
This was great guys. Dragons are for real. This was also fun to watch you get dragged behind a car like that
nice video and those wheels look very cool Braille
Those red Powell ssf u grabbed in the beginning are a longboard wheel def not a skateboard wheel per day but they work great for anything that won't get impacts from flip tricks. Otherwise they will eventually lose chunks because they are meant to slide
Pretty sure dragons use the Powell dragon-skin longboard wheel formula btw
i love the ojay's keyframes. those are my favorites at this moment in time. butter absolute butter
LOVED this video! btw, im 32 this year and i just started skateboarding, i was wondering if you could do a tutorial on just cruising around with a skateboard/cruiser, id really appreciate it!
Btw i cant even ollie right now and id say being able to ollie over speed bumps would be my ultimate goal.
There are already videos about it,just search beginner Aaron kyro or something
It just takes time left foot or right foot just behind the front bolts and push get used to that and also just learning to balance on it
Yes, I would like to see the formula four test as well ;^)
Also haven’t seen them in stock. Definitely getting them at some point
I have been waiting for this since they came out
I think you should definitely do this test with other wheels as well and then compare all of them
Have you tried the ricta clouds 92a or any of the other ricta clouds?
Santa Cruz Slimeballs, 88a or 92a. They slide great, and the SCREAM they make is just wonderful.
Lets see this test again. BUT you guys should make something to hold onto that would replace the spare tire on the back of the suv. Like a tow bar or something so your hands dont hurt after awhile
Not a bad video, I would have liked to see the oj softies and formula 4 wheels put through the drag test too. Should be said that all wheels flat spot if you slide them at 90° angle too long (the wheel stops spinning and only wears in one spot), and they wear faster the hotter they get. I bet these wheels will never have noticable flat spot through regular use
I'm curious to know how grippy they were in slippery indoor park compared to classic 101a wheels that are usually sliding too much?
@@frankiew311 Thx a lot man!🙏🏼🤜🏼
I've been skating them in a slippery indoor park and it is way better than my 101a wheels.
@@daveeth thx a lot, just what I'm looking for as winter arrives fast!
I absolutely love the dragon wheels and love the comparison to the oj 87 a and Peralta 85 a
Yes test with the spitfire formula fours ,im using those
Might be interesting to see how the Dragon Wheels perform on supersoft surfaces compared to normal wheels, like Woodward or other training facilities.
If I'm not mistaken they are almost the same formula as Powell dragon-skin wheels for longboarding which are supposed to be great and feel the same on any surface
Wouldve liked to hear the team’s opinion and if anyone would switch over.
What are yalls thoughts on the ricta clouds 76duro
yes
do this with formula fours too !
That's insane dude. Very impressed
Braille, the true testers of all things skate. thumbs up.
That was such a beautiful kick flip on the 5 Mowgli!!!!
I think it would be cool if you guys did the formula fours. I think they might be even more flat spot resistant than dragons.
theres a few spots that are way to rugged to skate on my spits that i just glide over on the dragons. def worth the money
Do they still have featherlite wheels with the air pockets in them I remember them from 20yrs ago
There’s actually a lot of different wheels that are more in the longboarding/DH space that are soft and also very slide-able (at least if you’re at speed). Like those E-Z Hawgs, and the Powell Snakes
Definitely going to pick up a pair now
Have you guys tried the Arbor sucrose initiative wheels? They are soft and slide, and came out before these dragon wheels...
would love to see the braille team test out "Satori" the movement wheels(RedEyes) 78A'S 54mm
The original Crossbones were 'soft' but could slide. Powell already did it. I think they were 95A.. worked well for all terrain IMO and I still prefer the size of the Crossbones for any situation - I've seen weird chunks come out of the Dragons - which usually happen with higher number formula like ramp wheels. I'll have to get a set and try them since Crossbone reissues are not being reissued any time soon? Hilarious demonstration boys.. keep up the positive vibes.
I wish they would bring them back out. Thos cross bones were epic!
Yeah.. you mean the late 80s and early 90s crossbones with bones picture on it .. I have a set in my skateboard collection.. I used to ride them. They were 93a 95a 97a and I believe once was 98a.. but I have 95a set of crossbones wheels I wish Powell Peralta would reissue the late 80s and early 90s wheel.. like mini rat bones 57 .. and rat bones that was 59 .. and crossbones ..
@@roberthartmann782 exactly to everything you said.. but the crossbones which I currently am riding have the older simple text ring.... not graphics. I thought those Crossbones came in different hardnesses which you confirmed.. and the rat bones or mini rat bones remind me of the Dragons.
Loved my pink 95a Crossbones🤙🏼
I grew up on cross bones .
I'd love to see it with formula fours brothers! Maybe even Bones!
you guys should do product reviews like this and see whats cool
Do the formula 4 test I wanna see a direct comparison I'm buying them soon to do that very thing at the skatepark
OJ Nomads I thought would be a better comparison to the Powell Dragons. They marketed it as a hard wheel that could slide.
The noise that wheel made around 13:00 is the same noise Aaron makes on a regular video basis 😂
Looks to me like they didn´t loose material by abbrasion at all, until the got hot enough to melt, which you wont ever get skating normaly.
I would love to see rails made out of this new wonderstuff!
I would definitely give these wheels a try🔥🔥🔥🔥🤙🏻
Ik what set of wheels are my next set lol thanks fam much love❤
I would love to see you test it out on formula 4
I remember when the powel peralta dragon board first dropped. Wild.
I skated OJ II's back in 1987, I learned later that white wheels are faster than colored wheels. In the early 1990's I tried Spitfire wheels, they were prone to flat spot.
Spitfire formula 4's don't flatspot, at least not in my experience. They just got super small.
"No, Black wheels.... Black wheels are the fastest." If you know you know.
Hey @brailleskateboarding are these V1s or V4s ?
Yoooo I didn't notice my deck design I sent in actually got used, the Braille blank deck.....I AM ORDERING ONE ASAP
My first ever deck was a Walmart board that's graphic was peeling off within 24 hours of getting it, so I sanded it down to the bare wood and painted it a solid blue and added a silver braille logo dead center, months later sent a pic of it to Brailles business email recommending it for a braille branded blank deck, which this was years ago tho, think I still was in Highschool
I'm old school.. I still ride 95a or 97a.. .. but I remember 92a.. and 93a.. but they had them way back then those soft 93a or 92a.
