    Took a Lyft passenger to San Francisco airport for $29 which is much better than normal with some surge. Passenger paid $67. Lyft took 57% of the fare. I turned the passengers on to signing up for the Yride app that just started in San Francisco area this weekend. It is similar to HUM but you don't need the livery insurance (not available in CA). The price to the airport on Yride was $36. They are signing up. I am just waiting for my car to be approved. Uber/Lyft have gouged themselves out of the market and they are going to pay now. 500 drivers signed up in the first few days.

      @@MicDropBBQ $40 for 30 miles with a $27 surge doesn’t surprise me any longer(it’s absurd none the less) but that’s a great scenario to convert because you know the rider is getting hosed. I’m selecting the lowest Quest because I can find 20-25 decent rides on fri & sat. Dude, I didn’t even burn half a tank and grabbed $300 on Friday and it’s slowing down big time, way too many drivers out there for the demand even with the two stadium concerts. The message that says "such as commercial insurance" is the "booking fee." Riders pay the booking fee and that goes direct to Uber/Lyft first. Commercial insurance is MANDATED BY THE STATES. This is NOT part of drivers' "earnings." Drivers do not "earn" a booking fee, which INCLUDES AMOUNT FOR MANDATED COMMERCIAL INSURANCE. See the deception? Drivers EARN their income from distance/time on trip plus tips and any bonuses apps give drivers for playing their games. Like being in side a video game.

If you have a driver that you prefer, lives closer, whatever the situation maybe please get their card too or convince them to print out their cards." So many people they take your card, they put it in their phone, but when they need a ride they're hardwired to Uber first Lyft second or vise versa

    • @MicDropBBQ
      @MicDropBBQ  Před měsícem +1

      Those are the same people that think you're an "on call" driver who will go, "...hey, can you come pick me and my friends up?" at like 230am when it's surging like crazy - and you're 30mins away. They want you to drive to them so they don't have to pay $60 to go 10 miles, but they're willing to pay you $30. LOL!
      I tell my clients to let me know if they are going out so I can be in that area when the bars close. If the bars close and they're stuck paying a high fare because I'm far away, I hope they find a driver willing to negotiate. Most people are not business people and the internet taught people to be "last minute" and very entitled to get what they want WHEN they want it.

I'm going to support what you're doing by never ever using Uber Lyft or any of those services that take advantage of the people that are actually providing the service. Then give them your business card. People today are looking for honesty and people they can trust. These apps have been dividing people and destroying trust for a long time. Rider calls me asking why I am not moving after waiting 5 minutes, I asked him how many riders, he said 3 and I told him I can't take 3 ppl in my Acura for $6. The rider got all mad when I told them they can take the bus for $2/per rider and Uber charging them $14 for me to take them to where they needed to go. I cancelled and got penalized. That's how rideshare is becoming and people can't even see that they're being TAXED and they're calling this tax, "fees". Who the hell paying over 100% in taxes on a transaction? If you buy something for $6 and you're taxed at 8%, then you pay $6.48 for it. They put surge far from activity - so we drive to get the surge - then they send us back to where the rides are....which is right where we couldn't get a ping for like 15mins of sitting. LOL! Using fuel, hoping the surge offsets it over time.
      I say convert the rides and the apps get pissed because they make $0 and we get more than what they were gonna pay us, even with surge added. They'll stop playing the games when they see riders and drivers talking about the game and developing a plan to fight against the game.

    So let me get this straight...
    You're on the Lyft app, a rider cancels and reports to Lyft that rider had a bad experience, but you didn't even pick the rider up. So Lyft suspends your account, taking your car out of the SUPPLY of vehicles for those riders demanding drivers, which then creates a SURGE in the Uber app BECAUSE if the riders are comparing prices between Uber and Lyft, Lyft just lost a car (You) for 15 minutes, so that Lyft and/or Uber could increase the fares for riders IN BOTH APPS!!
    Riders, just keep complaining and cancelling and YOU WILL PAY MORE!
    Is this the apps NEW GAME? How can drivers blame the rider for canceling when, according to "Super Pumped" Season 1, the people writing the codes for the apps can make the drivers and riders see something that is not really there!!
    Keep exposing them, Jeff! For all we know, you may be the next star of Season 2... if Billionaire Bill doesn't get the part for exposing tip stealing in his x post to Dara! 😂🤣🤣

      The riders that you never pick up don’t say a thing. It’s lie. It’s Lyft, They send me that message every time I cancel 2-3 rides in a night. Especially if I cancel after making contact with the rider (cause they have a good idea that I converted it to private). Oh well, that’s how I make enough to make it worth my while.

      Exactly! We make it worth our while. Damn straight. Why else are we out here doing TRANSPORTION? So we can pay for the TECH that's getting rid of us? Only pigeons doing that: hustling backwards. Hustling themselves out of an industry.
      Yeah, Abbey. They out here creating a weird setup for drivers, as if they want me on Uber and not on Lyft, because I've got a Black SUV and won't drive Uber as much. So, Lyft kicks me off and forces me to drive UberX and XL and COMFORT - and all I do is convert or get surge. LOL! No matter what, they don't realize who they're messing with. We're not idiots out here getting pigeon-pay. They're messing with the 300!

    Today I took an Uber from the Vegas Aria Hotel to the airport. the driver told me he would be paid only $4.70, I told him that Uber charged me $13. and I asked him why he took the ride if you lost money??/ he did not answer. this made me angry so I did not tip him. I do not understand why you take a ride to lose money.

    • @MicDropBBQ
      @MicDropBBQ  Před měsícem +4

      We are independent contractors and these rides are just OFFERS. That's what riders don't understand. We are not employees. We have a RIGHT to state our price, as independent contractors do. Customers who use the apps are LEADS for business, not employment agreements. If we accept a lead, we have a right to negotiate the proposal. If you want to leave the transaction on the app and pay Uber and not care about what the contractor gets, you run the risk of being left standing on the curb.

      @vibesaddickentertainment9777 LMAO! I know. People come up with all kinds of excuses to not show appreciation for service. What is an employer was like, "...we didn't give you a paycheck because you didn't answer why you hated your parking spot." LOL! Folks be coming up with ALL kinds of lame reasons to not pay for something. Man, pure comedy. But again, this account could be an Uber employee just talking shit. That's how I see it.
      The rider could have said, "...damn. I paid $13 for this. How about I just give you $10 because corporate is an asshole for this type of gouging."
      Yet, the mfka just said, "...I'd rather pay $8 in FEES for a $4 ride and look like an idiot for not helping a person trying to earn money for their family." That's like paying 120% tax on something and being happy about it. LOL!
