I remember playing this game on the PC in 1995. I was 10. It was hilarious. Fun fact: they used props from the original trilogy to film it.

Rebel Assault II was the first SW game I played and I was fascinated not only by the graphics (which at the time were revolutionary), but also by the story behind the game.
Furthermore, it brought first hand the most badass of all TIES: the TIE Phantom.
Basically the tie defender of modern cannon right?
my uncle gave my his Playstation copy of this, I remember playing it on repeat, being so morbidly fascinated by the troopers falling into the wires and disintegrating
Used to really love Rebel Assault II. Basically Star Fox with a Star Wars skin, but the novelty of seeing live action Star Wars for the first time since those horrible Ewok movies was pretty exciting back in the day.
Have this game somewhere in the attic along with the old Playstation; was a fun (if limited) game.
Introduced the TIE Phantom, if I remember; also, one of the few games you got to fly a B-Wing
This game was amazing as a kid. I had never seen graphics like this at the time and the real time live action scenes really showed this was a high quality production game for its time period.

@@oliversherman2414 you got me. I made a mistake. Yes this game came out in 95 so it's one of those obscure ones that never really got hype. It had to be one of those you "ran into".

0:18 I remember this ship appearing in the rebels series as a new invention, however it had red stripes, IG this is where the inspiration came from.
The B-Wing? That first appeared in Return of the Jedi. However I believe Rebel Assault 2 was the first video game with a playable B-Wing.
I think I remember only the first rebel assault game back from Blockbuster rental and SEGA CD. Always died on that first beggars canyon mission.

You could also try Dark Forces Remastered, a Star Wars Doom clone from the same year
I actually had that game for my PS1 or for other places in the world psx. I had Star wars dark forces and so many PS1 and PS2 games but I sold some of it.
I played this game when it came out on the Playstation. I initially rented it from BlockBuster because I played the first one on DOS. It turned out better and more fun than the first one, and had an epic ending too. Would recommend for anyone.
I was born. Had I and II on PC. The console versions are a bit different due to gfx. But the PC version is the way to go

I actually did have this game as a kid but the problem was I had a ps2 and it was a ps1 game which meant I could play it but I couldn’t save it. So to beat the whole game i’d have to do so in one sitting. I never got past the stage where you flying the millennium Falcon through all tunnel with all the pipes because I couldn’t figure out how to make it turn a certain away.
I thought he was talking about the movie because the games cutscenes look like live action

I played the absolute crap out of this game back in '96. And for the time, the graphics were pretty spectacular.
And the cutscenes were notable for being the first time since the mid-80s actual Actors were filmed for a SW-related product (and it was one of only two SW-games with Live Action-Cutscenes, the other being _Jedi Knight.)_

Please make review on Galactic Connection mod for Squad, this is really good mod for clones and droids, adds 20 maps and over 150 unit types, combine that with realistic strategy and perfect Battlefront 2 created, I think this mod is really better than Battlefront 2

This game really doesn’t hold up well, lol. I replayed this on my Ps1 and it’s really aged roughly. But hey, it’s an oldie.
