Green Lanes (Trails) on a BMW R1150GS Adventure | “Way Out West Country”

- I, a very much inexperienced off-road rider, along with a much more highly-skilled friend on his tricked-out Honda, took my BMW R1150GS Adventure on some green lanes! I'm pretty new to off-road riding, and to this bike, so we took it fairly steady, but what a machine it is.
There's a lot of weight, but it's quite low down, which means the bike is nice and stable on the rocky/gravelly bits. It's still a heavy beast though, and with a dry clutch I'd certainly rather not take it on anything too slow and technical!
Much like the last green laning video I did (with the smaller BMW F650GS), there were a couple of audio issues with the footage -- this time it's just a couple of clips towards the end where the GoPro used the internal mic instead of the Rode in my helmet, but I've tried to clean it up as much as I can.
More videos to come, including some footage from the 2022 Adventure Bike Rider festival!

For me this is the best bike for twisties, best handling bike ever ,better than newer r1200gs when it comes to handling ,I missed it so much!I owned a lot of bikes and never feel that much confident like on this 1150 adventure !
Ride safe guys!
You did well, it’s not easy to duck in and out of rut’s especially on the big GS, let the weight/power through the ruts with light hands on the bars not to take fright and oversteer. I also have a CRF like your companion, for the days that I am feeling weak for the 1150 GSA ha ha
It's great to see my 1150 GSA's offroad capabilities. I haven't tried it yet. Very well done sir!
Hi , I too have a R1150 GSA , I have a quadlock for my phone plus a Garmin 590 . I got the Quadlock because I couldn't find a good spot to mount the Garmin on the handlebars.
Could you do a video on the Cosmo Navi mount and how it's connected mechanically and electrically please ? .
Thanks from Australia.
Now try pillion off road!
Out of interest, which tyres are you using on your GSA?
Metzeler Karoo 3 -- chunky, the rear is very grippy off road when opening up the throttle. Surprisingly good on the road as well, you can lean the bike right over pretty well for a 50:50-ish tyre.
@@TittertonRacing Thanks Alex, I’ll have a look at a pair of those for mine!
