Who am I?
Expert singing teacher, specialising in teaching children and young adults in singing and musical theatre. She has worked with the likes of The Saturdays for MTV, on shows such as Just the Two of Us for the BBC and many more. Throughout her years of teaching she has judged in many competitions, judging Lucy Spraggan, George Samson, amongst others who have gone onto succeed in the business.
I am the founder of Vocaltutor, (founded 2003) the UK’s largest vocal and singing tuition network and now The New Foundry Studios which opened in 2013.
I have worked with BBCTV on Just the Two of Us, with many celebrities including Natasha Hamilton of Atomic Kitten, plus has worked for ITV on many children’s TV programmes including The Worst Witch, as their vocal coach.

Her playback actually messed up that night so she had to sing a lot live. It happens to her every now and then. Trust me trying to dance like that and sing is near impossible. Plus this was halfway thorough her most intense show dance wise
especially with her fake baby voice. it would've been much better if her label didn't force her to sing with that voice all that time
@@GABE_is_here they never forced her. I'm a full free britney fan but She chose that. It was a natural progression. She started without a lot of it and by in the zone she used it to suit her music style. Glory barely used it and it was amazing

There are people that worked closely with britney that have said that she was forced to sing in the baby voice because her natural voice sounded too close to christina Aguilera's voice. So, they hired someone to change it.

@@ashdog236 I know that but if you listen to her first two albums she uses her natural voice a lot. Same with blackout, on the stuff she did on Britney Jean and Glory. She was trained because she had the ability to do it. It hasn't damaged her voice since when she does use her natural voice live she still sound amazing

You really have to give Britney credit here for singing 100% LIVE with that choreography... She's constantly accused for lip sync while most artist being known for "always" singing live have the pre-recorded live vocals as I think the best voice could not make it through entire 2hrs show live so there are just parts where they sing actually live.
Britney rarely has her live vocal anywhere near front and center. Even here, her live vocal is heavily supported by her backing track. She is actually almost drowned out by it several times.
No...she is singing (pitchy)on top of a prerecorded vocal , so she does not have to do much effort to sing like this. Yes there is a lot of choreography going on. But you can hear that live vocal being pitchy and drowned in the prerecorded vocal. It is not bad ,indeed bare in mind she has to do a lot of choreography so this is probably the best she can give. and let’s face it, Britney is an entertainer , not an amazing singer
The thing with Britney is their laziness with the pre recorded track. They could use a more raw track to create the ilussion of a live performance.
@@fabialvarez13 the real problem is her team and management, they're stupid and want to preserve this illusion that britney's voice is exactly like the studio version. I think all of us wanted for them to use a raw track for live performances to make the vocals more believable. Finally they did it during the Femme Fatale tour but remember what they did after, they still replaced all audio with studio versions for the DVD release. smh

The "may" thing is a Max Martin thing. Overprotected is produced by Max Martin, and he was known for making the singers of his songs sing "may" instead of "me." You can also hear it in NSYNC's "It's Gonna Be Me."
EXACTLY!!! It was his lack of English i believe. A lot of his writing was the Swedish interpretation of English

I think you're doing an amazing job at being honest and taking everything into consideration! First of all Britneys songs have never been made to be performed live! Her vocals and tone are absolutely unique, but created in a studio setting and perfected over several years! Just as you said it already takes a lot of effort and conviction for her to replicate this live because it's not her natural tone or register. Furthermore, she puts on a show! There is nearly nobody out there anymore who commands a stage and dances its ass off like Britney did back in her prime. Literally nobody! And as we all know the ones actually dancing nowadays on stage use primarily pre-recorded vocals because it is more than tough to put on a perfect live vocal while dancing like crazy. Britney truly is one of a kind!

Lady gaga is a great example of someone who dances her ass off and sings live. Britney is great but she is not unique in that way. I have always been a fan of Britney and I will always support her music, but I don't see the point in watching a "live" show of hers.

Not many artists can sing and dance at the same time, and we have to considere that Britney dance routines in her first tours were so difficult, i think it's great what she did here.

I went to this tour (not the Albany date but in Chicago) as teen/kid and I remember just being so happy. I don’t remember now if she sounded good or bad, whether she sounded live or lip synced. I just remember it being a good show, being entertained and just excited.
I think that’s all that matters in the end honestly. I hope she gets her life back from her dad.

I'm a huge fan of Britney and thank you for your reaction. The performance was from her tour ' the dream within a dream tour'. This tour was amazing! The stage is like a Key form (you can google the stage of that tour and see how amazing it was).
And yeah, in that song the choreography was just her. But in the others songs, it had a lot of dancers on stage.
You could react 'you outghta know' from her circus tour. It's a cover of Alanis Morissette. The circus tour was amazing too (and it was her comeback, after the hard time)
