Nice video. My 34 coin order from October 24 is actually out for delivery on January 27, as I type this. I did call twice to expedite it, most recently last Friday. By Monday they updated the order from grading to quality check and by Tuesday it was shipped so I guess it worked I’m sure you know but since it wasn’t said I will say it, a lot of newer /novice collectors may be confused about grading standards. Mint state coins are not just graded by contact marks. It’s a pie graph of contact marks. Luster, strike, and + vs - toning / eye appeal . It’s even stated on their website abs if you search CZcams videos pcgs has done grading videos; most are from 5-6 years ago. It’s like 35% surface quality (or which contact marks are included), 30% luster, 25% strike and the last 10% on positive vs negative toning and eye appeal. Extremely positive toning can add 1 full point whereas extremely negative can deduct a full point. Most coins will fall into the neutral to slightly positive or slightly negative category Keep up the great work
Sam, I am getting the slow roll as well, but based on your time line, they are putting me on the back burner. I also have called several times, might actually piss them off. They said they would expidite. After one month in encapsulation, they moved to imaging today. Unreal.
Nice grades and you are very lucky to find the coins at the prices you paid. PCGS is very good with their grades, but disappointing when it comes to getting your coins back. Mentioned in another post I have 15 Morgans in on Oct 7th. Based on your comments, looks like mine will get back in late February. They are closer to their advertised time with Modern coins, around 3 months.
Thanks! Yea if you sent them in last Oct you've gotta be close to getting them back. I have a regular sub coming back this week that I sent in last Nov 11 so that's better but not by much. Good luck with your grades! Let me know how they turn out
@@anguscollectibles7023 As you requested, letting you know how my PCGS submission turned out. Sent in 15 coins, 10 of them were Carson City Morgans. I guessed the grade for most of them, but was surprised that 4 were cleaned. Hard to see on less than mint state coins. I did get a better grade on my 1889 CC. That coin was worth $1350, only paid $375 for it 18 months ago. I was disappointed on the whole deal. Almost 130 days to get them back. I guess that is how it goes right now. Not sure I will use them next year. I have 20 mores coins that need to go it, just don't want to see 'DETAILS' when they come back. Rodger C
I called the 83-CC VG10 once you flipped it over👍🏼. 25 years later I’m getting my grading game on point. Rims show wear and very flat devices with 60+% of the hair detail worn away. Definitely not a F (or F20 ie VF20 😂). Still a nice coin . CC coins of any type never have a problem selling
Yea i'm not terribly good with determining the lower grades yet. Thanks for the explanation on what you're seeing! Always looking to learn. It's the only way to become more knowledgable
Fun video and you had really great results again. It’s risky but rewarding finding these raw coins in the wild and submitting them. I currently have over 100 coins at Pcgs that I’ll be getting back late February
If you submit for variety designation, do you have to note which variety on the submission forum (e.g fs-101, etc.) or do they figure it out themselves?
I have the same 84 CC as well as an 82 CC both GSA that I got at a yard sale. Got a ms64 for the 84 and ms62 for the 82. Only paid $70 each though so I was very happy with those grades. Decided to go NGC with mine so that they could stay in their original boxes with certificates. Awesome grades though man!
That’s awesome! Love to hear about others finding great deals out there. What a score. Yea I might still send some to NGC. I just picked up an 1880 CC and a 1883 CC I’m almost certain will come back 65. But we’ll see.
Those giant gsa holders must be an acquired taste, to me it’s too much holder, not enough coin, if I had some gsa coins I’d prefer if the just put it in a regular pcgs holder with a label designation would be ideal.
Great video! Question: so you can "get away" with declaring the max $300 value, even though they are probably more (and then you wouldn't get economy service). Do they ever balk at that?
Haha I should’ve mentioned that! Thanks for bringing it up. No they upcharged me on the 1880, 1881, and 1885 CCs. On the invoice they listed their values as a justification. They didn’t do that for the 1928 peace dollars though. The rest of the coins were charged the economy rate.
I did the same on my economy 34 coin order I included an 85-S Morgan which assuming grades MS60+ is >$300, Walking Lib halves 21-S VF, a >$700 coin, 17-S XF, Obv 19-S VF, 23-S XF, 16-D VF, all of which are >$300, and once grades are confirmed will be up charged also. The conundrum is they expect you to declare values on raw coins and they are the expert graders so …
@@Samscoinsandheavymetal Nice! Yea I think that going that route will save you some cash. Sounds like a sweet order! Let me know how the grades come back!
Really nice video. Watched this drinking my morning coffee. Good Coffee, Great Coins ! Thanks!!! 👍
Coffee and coins. Doesn’t get much better than that lol
Love the unboxing videos, fun to see how the grades come back!
Thanks! It’s not easy waiting for them to come back and not checking the grades online though 😂
I love the toning on that 28 ms62!!!😍
Heck yeah awesome video
Okay I'll watch another video! I actually like then hope you improve your videos. Time to watch!
😂 thanks for checking them out! I’m still polishing my video and editing skills. Hoping to get a better camera here soon
Awesome sauce!! Love some oversized holders. 😜
They do look pretty cool. I did end up putting it on my shelf for a display 😂
Sweet

Holy smokes! 100?! Is that all one order or did you break it up?
And thanks for the comment! Really appreciate the kind words
