What is your favorite Megs Product?
Hyper Dressing D170 is a good all around trim dressing. Works great for engine bay details and tire dressing. Not the longest lasting, but never seems streaky and is easy to use.
#7 Glaze for single stage & old lacquer-enamel's. I do not use a DA for correcting & their stuff is popular w/the younger detailers that live for orbitals.
Hi tech yellow wax, microfiber cutting pads
D140 Wheel Brightener. It was awesome! Too bad they discontinued it with no real direct replacement.
Meguiar's D156 Detailer Synthetic X-Press Spray Wax. I like it for interiors. Natural feel on the steering wheel, and smells great.
Good to see someone with their own product line giving a fair and honest review about a competitors product. Speaks volumes of your character and integrity. Some dude on the west coast could learn a thing or two from you. Would love to see your review of his hard as crap junk someday. Thanks for the great reveiw. When i finally decide to coat my car i will be using bc7, at some point. Its been performing tremendously on JTC's channel.
I used this coating on both my cars and it was easy to use and really love the results. I've had it on them for 2 months now.
Have you had any issues with hydrophobics dying off after a rain on the lower panels? My first wash it was amazing. Rained 3 days straight and it just didnt' act right. I even did a full decon was with a water spot remover and it still didn't come back to original. I applied ethos Resist as a topper and things are back looking good, but I thought it should do well on its own according to Megs.
I'm actually really impressed. It survived multiple hits from Citrol and you can easily see the outline.
Pretty impressive overall. looks like an excellent product!! Tks Brian!!
A very good review. The hazing would probably drive me crazy since I'm trying not to leave behind high spots.
It seems durable, and the haziness cleared up. That price though....It's not hard to find other coatings that are just as good, or better, for less cost.
Decent coating Brian 👊🏼Thanks 💎
Thanks Brian!!!
Great video and review Brian, feel like they were late to the party with this one.
I was hoping youd test M888, although the price is decently high, ive had no bad experience with meguiars products, so i was planning on using it
Megs are going like CG's with the marketing. Everything is becoming 'Ultlmate' and now their Ceramic is 'Beyond' ceramic. Ive found very little ultimate about the ultimate range and id take a guess that theres very little beyond about the ceramic when compared to others. The only Megs products ive really loved are the number 7 show car glaze back in the days of single stage reds and the detailer glass cleaner concentrate was a really nice glass cleaner when i tried it. I may revisit the glass cleaner when i need more. Shampoo Plus wasnt bad either from what i remember.
Meguiars has a lot of top class products that CG can't touch. Hyper Wash, Hybrid Ceramic Paint coating, Wheel and Paint Iron Decon, Hybrid Ceramic Detailer, All Wheel Cleaner, and now M888 looks like a very strong performer too.
Some of the naming conventions are a bit much, I agree, but until Megs comes out with 20 different soaps and tire shines, I'd hesitate in comparing them to CG
The Ultimate line has been around for over a decade. And their marketing is nothing like CG or else I would have dropped them ages ago.
Interesting coating. I still believe megs hybrid paint coating is their best product. Easier to apply then a sealant, super slick, 1+ year durability, excellent hydrophobics. Good gloss after curing as well. They did such a poor job marketing HPC imo.
I've used it, and it only lasted only up to 1 year on my DD. Wish it lasted longer for the amount of time spent applying but it def was an easy application.
@@youtubingman5986 Mine has hit 2yr mark on my daily. But I did reapply over previous application after a maintenance wash. The application is the best part of HPC imo. Basically a super sealant on clean unprepped paint. And a coating on clean prepped paint.
@@darknight160are you talking about hybrid ceramic wax? If so, it sounds like you don't keep your car outside? My garage kept car has had rainx last for 2 years on a single application, and it's supposed to only last months
@@The1Music2MyEars No not the blue bottle stuff. Megs Hybrid paint coating is a different product. It is true coating with measurable thickness on clear coat. And my daily stays outside 24/7 in NJ weather.
@@darknight160 interesting I didn't do any reapplications or use any additional LSP and my car was outside most of the time as well. I mainly rinsed it for like the first few months cause everything just rinsed off and air dried it. After that I washed it regularly with megs hyperwash until prob the 1 year mark.
Did you use any LSP or their specific ceramic recommended soaps? I'm assuming the maintenance wash where u reapplied it made it last 2 years.
Great 👍 video buddy tfs
You put like 10 drops of product on the applicator to do a one square foot area. Way too much. That's why it was so hard to buff off and smeared.
Seems like an awful lot of product for such a small area. Could that be why it seems hazy after wiping?
Im kinda liking the looks of this one👍🏼
Just wondering, you didn’t show the stuff you used to buff the hod with…could it be a new Apex cutting cream you talked about?? 😊😊😊
Applicator looks nice, but wonder what the purpose of the 4 different layers is?
It's actually going for about $78 on amazon and has been sitting there for awhile
I wouldn’t throw away the pad. It can be washed with a pad cleaner solution or dish soap. The pad could then be reused for wax application or tire dressing.
Is it good to wash ceramic coated vehicles with wash and wax soaps?
I quite liked Fast Finish but my can stopped working. Super easy to apply like Can Coat and worked well for me.
Do a side-by-side test with Blue Collar 7 and M888, putting this same amount of product on the applicators for both coatings.
BC7 for the haze free win
Can you test 3D graphene ceramic coating next?
This name was for a coating they had planned to release a number of years ago.
I'll volunteer my F150...but that's a hell of a vehicle to coat!
I don’t know if I have a favorite megs product. Good question
How many labs are used by he industry to create these ceramic like chemical coatings? Stateside. The term is like 'nano', its everywhere in the spays/drying/detailer/ect.
B&B blends coatings for a lot of companies. Adams is owned by B&B.
I like this product and topping it with Meguiars ceramic wax would be smart for areas with hard water or lots of iron fallout. I still have no idea what Beyond Ceramic means but I believe this product could last two to three years while providing good chemical protection. On the flip side BC7 will last five years and costs less.
Ceramic is associated with SIO2.
The chemistry of today's coatings have gone beyond what many people have in their mind.
Lol. Beyond
I still have a bottle of their M105 compound. I can’t think of anything else off the top of my head that I use from Megs…
Seriously m105 and m205 were my favorite go to products for a LONG time
How long did you wait until adding the second coat?
He mentioned no more than 2hrs, and said it several times, so im assuming he waited 2hrs.
I don’t understand why anyone wants the coating to bead instead of sheet. Doesn’t sheeting eliminate the possibility of water spots? After washing, flood with open garden hose and car is almost dry by itself.
Because people like beads
That was a big panel. Wouldve liked to have seen a 1 and a 2 layer section. Im not mad, just disappointed
But i love sheeting products 😢😂!
Looking for a volunteer 🖐️ brand new SUV for you to try on
Looks like a good product from this company but I’d rather have BC7😊
2 layers?! No thanks, thats old school! Are we putting on too much product?
You dont need 2 layers it just says you can if you want to. But there is no need for it
Im sorry Brian, i don't do Meguiars anymore. Lots of other cool stuff out there with proven results. Thanks for the video!
Not for me
