OMG my memories just went through the roof. My first car was a 60 Biscayne. Flat black with blue smoker straight 6. Converted the column 3 speed manual to the floor. What a blast, used to find a big hill, roll backwards to about 10-20 mph put the gas to the floor then slide the foot off the clutch and melt the tire all the way up the hill. Dang I miss that car.
Sounds great! That would have been fun!
Ralph, Totally beautiful build!...Detail is outstanding!...Nice throwback to the '60's ...Thanks for the share!...Aloha, Wayne

Thank you!
Beautiful build! Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure!
My uncles first car was a brand new 57 Chevy. There is a pic of me standing next to it when I was a tyke. 3 years later he traded it in on a 60' Chevy like this but in white. Back when we still had cool looking cars on the road. Today our roads are filled with ugly foreign eyesores. My current car is a 17 SS Chevy Camaro 6spd man.
Nice!
I got to get that kit 👍🏿
Go for it!
Awesome build, great job. I am a Impala fan, but I don't have this kit. In fact the 1960 Impala is my dream Impala. Love the 1960 Impala, manly because of the movie Jeepers Creepers. I saw that movie and fell in love with that car 👍😎
Thanks. I don’t think I have seen that movie.
Great looking build
Thanks 👍
Love the history, such a beautiful car. Very slick!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Back in the day you could have gotten the dual swept rear antennas mounted on the deck. It was cool then, still cool today.
Yes they are and the 61 Impala convertible kit has them!
Nice build, can't miss with a black Impala! Chevy did the emblem per engine thing for many years. Like you said it may not always hold true today as it's easy to put the one on you like while restoring or something. Basically if you seen the cross flags you were up against a big dog.
Thanks. I get a kick out of some of this unusual trivia. Like the Chevy 400 engines in the 70s. If the 400 emblem was white. It was a small block. If the 400 was red, it was a 402 big block.
I'm working on my Impala model collection, too. I have an old AMT 58, a Monogram 59, a Revelle 60 that I got from Adam @SoDakModelCars snd the AMT 62-67s and an AMT 70. Love those old Chevys!
They are cool cars!
Great build 🙌
Thank you! 😁
Love your model! Chevy wagons for 1960 are Brookwood, Parkwood, Kingswood and Nomad.
Cool, thanks! I love wagons but have trouble keeping up with the different models plus they keep changing them. Mopar did the same as I own a Plymouth Suburban.
Nice looking build. It is interesting how GM used the badging based upon the engine in the car. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks. Yes I find that interesting.
Fantastic review!! Enjoyed the details about the Impala. Makes me want to build one an I'm not a Chevy man.
Go for it!
My dad's first new car. Tasco Turquoise, 348 tri-power 335 horse, manual trans. He added a custom tube grille, '57 Plymouth hub caps and painted the "W" valve covers in a glossy refrigerator white. Early GM muscle!! We still have the original 348 crossed flags grille emblem in our garage. 🏁🏁
That’s awesome!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler My Car Story just posted this, I think you'll enjoy it. 🙂

1960 is my favorite Impala and I'm actually a Ford guy. Very nice build and I really enjoy the history facts you share about the 1 to 1's. Keep up with the great videos.
Right on! I was raised Ford myself but really like the history and really got into Mopars in high school!
Very nice
Thanks

The 59 was a little to crazy, the 1960 was just right, really nice for my taste.
Very cool!
Back when each year model was different, unlike today when the same body runs eight or ten years, with yearly "updates".
It’s funny but back then the labor and tooling was cheap but technology was expensive. So very little mechanical and technology advancements. Lots of style updates. Now it is the opposite!
Anecdotal, but I have heard that the '59 was a late to the game reaction to Chrysler's "Suddenly it's 1960" '57 models. But, the '59 was too out there for your full size Chevy buyers and they toned it down for 1960. You weren't wrong about the '60. It's a great car/kit. I do have one, and I do need to build it. P.S. cool fact about the floorpan inaccuracy!
Compared to the 58 styling. The 59 was a big jump into the aircraft fins look. The Cadillacs had the tallest ones and the Chevrolets had the widest ones. Rumored to create lift at speed.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler Given there were Full size Chevies running on the newly minted Daytona International Speedway, there has to be some anecdotal evidence of these cars aerodynamic characteristics.
How did you acquire your kit these kit r hard to come by and very expensive I have every Impala 58 through 65 with the exception of 59 and 60
It takes time and patience really. My collection has grown over the last 25 years, plus the ability and values always change. The 59 and 60 kits used to be everywhere and cheap. Plus getting involved in clubs and knowing other modelers as friends has its benefits as well. Here in the Phoenix area we have a lot of modelers besides the many on you tube. We all have pretty good stashes and we have helped each other out.
People say bow tie but I cant stop thinking it is actually a wrist watch with its open bracelet. Louis Chevrolet, the fonder of Chevrolet Motors was an European (Suisse) from a watch makers family.
That’s interesting.
They SOOOOO wimped out on the 1960 trunk. That is the manual trans. P-glide would have a big pan like most other automatics.
Thanks. I’m pretty sure that is an early iron case powerglide.
