I think bigger than anything else that needs to be talked about in every news place is the hiring of ben Herbert for strength and conditioning that’s just as big as the GM as a huge chargers fan I love the hiring of the strength coach
The Chargers has been plagued with injuries. The better conditioning and health of the team will pay off in spades over the next few years, not to mention the increased toughness of both offensive and defensive lines.

The entire package is great. You’re getting a HC that’s a QB guru, a DC that built the meanest defense in the NCAA, and arguably the best strength and conditioning coach in the nation.
The players are pro. They will all be doing their own offseason programs with their own people. He will have little to no impact on the team. This is not college football.
Listen to the difference between Harbaugh and Staley. Staley tries to sound confident whereas Harbaugh is confident period.

No reason not to go further than .500 in the first year. Any player can be coached to maximize their play. Then again, the word “coach” should be emphasize here. There have been teams who have gone all the way with no name players.

@@FerretRaythe cap situation is blown out of proportion. Chargers cut/trade Mike Williams, one of Bosa or Mack, and Linsley retiring will bring them under the cap. That’s not even considering some other cap casualties if they decide to.
People really underrate the piss poor coaching job Staley did on top of team injuries. We should win 10+ AND a playoff game year 1 under Harbaugh
Chargers have a rough cap situation next year. 45 million over the cap, 55 mil over counting the draft class, with 4 aging stars counting for 55% of the cap. Lots of dead money if they cut or trade them. I'd imagine next year is a reset then try to contend with the Chiefs in year 2.
Honestly, expectations shouldn't be too high. It's a new era. Things take time to stew. The big expectation is just fixing Justin Herbert, elevating him to where he needs to be so there'll be no more question marks surrounding him

Herbert WAS fine until THIS season. I blame that on moore and the Oline. FIX the O line, get a TRUE R B and a decent OC, Herbert should bounce back. Improve the Defense to even mediocre from the PATHETIC group it's been the last few years and those close losses become close wins. Herbert did NOT look comfortable / confident in the offense this year. thats why he tried forcing the ball to keenan.

10 wins is not out of the question. they won 10 in 2022 with staley. they lost games this year because of injuries, they have the talent.

The Texans are proof that you can have a shell of a roster and compete immediately if you hit on a coach and have pieces in key positions like QB, LT, WR, EDGE and CB.
LAC can strip back to become cap compliant and still compete next year with Harbaugh, Herbert, Slater, Allen, James and one of Bosa or Mack + a top talent with the fifth pick like Bowers or Nabers.
Man as a lifelong Chargers fan I am pumped for this! You hit the nail on the head “No Facade” just straight football. This is the complete opposite of Genius Boy Buzz Word Staley. The Bolts finally have a culture and that will bring the team back together after the Staley debacle. So excited to see how this team comes together and pumped for Captain Comeback to lead the team!!!
The chargers have not had a coach like this in about 15 years!! This guy is different, he knows what Herbert is. He knows what to put together, he will figure it out and set the tone !!
Personally, I'm surprised he took only $16m a year. Michigan offered $12.5m so we're talking only a 3.5m difference. And if he really wanted to stay I'm sure Michigan would of been happy to meet the Chargers offer.

We need a center but the team as a whole was very poorly coached. Many had them in the Super Bowl last year.

Harbaugh will win immediately and be in the super bowl by year 3. Theres already great pieces on the team and they did phenomenal in the draft
10 wins minimum for Harbaugh as he’s a proven coach. I do believe he has the coaching, experience in the right places also (GM, Strength & Conditioning and DC) and the quarterback to turn the Chargers around quickly.
Harbaugh with J Herb + J Hortiz coming from Ravens Org + Jesse Minter who coach the national champion winnimg number 1 defense in the country coming to LA with Ben Herbert as our new S and C coach. Keep Keenan restructure his deal cut or trade Mike and Maxk and restructure Bosa who i think will turn into a different player with Harbaugh. Trade down and accumulate couple extra picks from an ATL or NYJ team and Draft Bowers, JPJ in the 2nd, and couple D lineman and a dog at DB like Sainristi and hit on a couple FAs and we more than good. We have an elite coch and qb, we will win at least 11-12 games in our first i truly believe that.
Build the offense around the QB, he has all the tools to be a Superstar!
With the combination of harbaugh and deleting Staley, they have to have at least a playoff win as the expectation.
Remember the owner fired Marty Schottenheimer for going 14 and 2 and losing in the first playoff game
Jimmy Johnson won a college championship and then won two Superbowls (well, really 3).
I think 10-12 wins should be expected. Harbaugh has always been a good coach, and that roster has serious talent. They have the entire offseason for him to retool the roster, i'd be surprised if they weren't at least in the wildcard hunt.

I think Ty is 100% right. The dude is a winner, with a QB and some weapons, so what he did with the 49ers, you expect him to win with the Chargers. I expect a winning record at minimum the first year, and if he doesn't get that but at least shows some promise, especially near the end of the season, then that will be acceptable, but second year he better be in the playoffs, and 3rd he should being winning playoff games and possibly a trip to the SB or very near.
I just want us to draft, bowers and maybe Blake Corrum. So we can have a mean run and pound offense with options to sling it.
Imagine if this man goes back to back national championship/Super Bowl. Instant HOF
I’m have no expectation for him other than feeling the team united and seeing the defense and offense keep it together through games. Also not constantly missed tackled and blown coverages.

This year i hit 50 years as a Chsrger fan,i am from Eastern New Mexico , i think they were playing the Jets and my brother ssid i for them ,He is a Dallas fan so are all my other 5 siblings. I said i am for other tesm like there helmets. I never switched. Back then i could only score watch and read sports page ,and some times Monday night football half time highlights with Mr Howard Cosrll. Never in my wildest dreams if you ask me 50. Years later how many SuperBowls we had won that the answer would be zero. Now 57 . Being A Charger fan we must lead the fans in one thing and that is heart breaks.

It would genuinely be surprising if a chargers team with Herbert, Keenan Allen, Ekeler, Palmer, Bosa, and more led by Harbaugh don't get at least 2nd in their division. It's unrealistic to say they're gonna topple the chiefs dynasty but it would be embarrassing if they do worse than the broncos.

High Expectations & everyone from team owners, other coaches, players, staff, fans, hosts of shows etc plus all the Michigan fans, players, alumni etc hell bring over and turn into chargers fans. Hes also an amazing person, great coach and theyre a pretty stacked team with potential, talent & new guys theyll get plus guys who will want to go there just to play for him and if they can come together & his program works there like it did at Michigan. It is cool to see how genuinely happy, excited & stoked he is to work with Justin, D James and the other all pro / pro bowl quality players that team has. I think they'll be a play off contender & have chance of the championship next year for sure with how he coaches, talks, treats people, football IQ, his resume & how good he is at turning programs around N into the #1 seed in the league etc.
Chargers need a couple of good, real running backs. Release their current backs. Get a center, a couple of real blocking, receiving tight ends and they're set. I agree with AJ.
