I was born after the breakup of Yugoslavia and I'm aware Yugoslavia and it's system had some flaws, but for me it seems that life in Yugoslavia was really nice. I really wish time machines existed so I can spend few days in 70s or 80s when my parents were kids/teenagers. I'm so happy when I catch that special Yugoslavian vibes, like when I walk in some part of the town where there are a lot of houses and buildings that were built back then or even when I see some old street light poles etc
That's why I also really like some of Yugoslavian music! It has some specific style and again it has some really cool vibe and I'm glad it's still kinda popular here in Serbia and you can hear some songs on the radio really often.
Thank you for this video, it's great!

    04. 1988 Mangup

I'm from Croatia and from my personal experience (born in '87) I'd say 1983 Džuli by Danijel Popović, 1986 Željo moja by Doris Dragović and 1990 Hajde da ludujemo by Tajči became the most played/recognizable ESC entries from Yugoslavia, at least here in Croatia. 1968 entry is kind of very specific, not really the kind of song you'd hear on the radio every day.

The most popular YU song at ESC without doubt is Brazil by Bebi Dol from 1991. Brazil placed poorly at the Eurovision but to this day it is almost the only song that is regularly played on radio, TV and it has huge following on CZcams. It was also the most covered and remixed YU ESC songs. Hajde Da Ludujemo from 1990 and Brazil are the most popular and most remembered songs from YU ESC history. Also, still very popular Gori Vatra by Zdravko Colic from 1973 and Zeljo Moja by Doris Dragovic from 1986. Some early songs, even though not as popular today, were absolutely beautiful, such as Ne Pali Svetla U Sumrak by Lola Novakovic from 1962, Vse Roze Sveta by Lado Leskovar from 1967, Jedan Dan by Dubrovacki Trubaduri from 1968 or Neke Davne Zvezde by Ljiljana Petrovic from 1961.

Zeljo Moja by Doris Dragovic in 1986 was easily one of the best, if not THE best song from Yugoslavia! And it’s not even in this list! The studio version has nearly 10 million views right now...
