- Spain had their Eurovision debut in 1961 but had their most successful times in the late 60s and early 70s. After winning twice in a row (in 1968 and in 1969, even though the 1969 victory had to be shared with three other countries) Spain came fourth in 1970 and second in 1971.

Spain has been underrated in this current decade. There was 2016's Say Yay that I felt deserved Top 10, 2014's Dancing In The Rain which I felt deserved Top 3 and 2012's Quedate Conmigo which deserved at least a a Top 5.

Diogo Martins Manel's song was chosen because the national contest was fraudulent. The judges were not fair to singers like Mireia, also, they were friends of Manel, so.... That was the reason that he won.

Darwin Ramírez Patistán soy Española y gracias por apoyarnos ❤ Yo no voté a Mirela ni a Manel, prefería a Maika o Leklein pero Mirela era lo que la gran mayoria quería y la hubiera apoyado de todas formas. Me pareció fatal lo que hizo televisión española y aún más cuando Xavi Martínez, amigo de manel y juez que llevó a Manel en Eurovisión, cuando vio el último puesto y el gallo, lo abandonó diciendo que se había equivocado eligiendo a Manel. Cuando él era el que más lo apoyaba cuando medio país estaba en contra de manel y luego le deja tirado. Eso es de ser un mal amigo. Pero bueno, gracias. Se agradece el apoyo ^^

Creo que se refiere mas al ``mejor puesto ´´ que a ``mejor cancion´´ . Estan todas muy bien pero Pastora Soler, Ruth Lorenzo,Nina... hay un monton aparte que lo hicieron de maravilla
Desde 1961 hemos tenido puntuaciones de todo tipo, entre las principales muy a menudo en otras épocas, asi que han puesto sólo 10, las de puesto más alto, aunque se olvidaron el Julio Iglesias.

Anabel Conde was our best entry ever, great song and amazingly powerful voice. Shame she didn't win and she didn't have any success in Spain afterwards, unlike Massiel for example. In recent times, Pastora and Ruth did pretty well with very good songs, but most of the times we seem outdated or missing the point when selecting songs for the contest. Last year was horrible from the preselection to the voice crack in the final, but it showcased exactly where our weaknesses are. Hopefully from this year on we will start doing things a little bit better. I don't expect us to win even with all the OT hype, but a good progress would be good enough to start building up again.

Maybe yes...but i'm not pretty sure about...Croatia, Slovenia and Turkey sent beautiful entries...Greece and Cyprus did too...but i agree with you that Norway didin't deserved the 1st place.

All of these artists and songs where huge all over Latin America, I recognized a bunch of these from the music my mom would listen to and they still put some them on the radio and some (like bailar pegados for example) are karaoke classics. Before Spain used to send such high caliber acts, I hope they start doing it again. On a side note I wonder if all of these artists where at the beginning of their careers when they went to eurovision to represent Spain or they were established artists already.
My favorite is still "Que Bueno" by Conchita Bautista in 1965. Me gusta la canción.

Eurovision 2002 Spain - Rosa - Europes Living A Celebration is very good too as well. Spain doesn't seem to put in the effort like Italy has in it's entries.
