This dudes sets prove that racism is about intent. Nobody ever gets offended no matter how much he talks about race.
It's a window into a world where race isn't seen as any more significant than any other trait, and is something people can joke and talk about freely like we do now with religion or jobs or whatever. Schulzy does such a good job at making it feel so far from hateful though. Even with perfect intent if most people tried this they'd end up sounding awful. There's a lot of interesting techniques he uses to no-holds-bar roast and be respectful at the same time. This is, along with his crowd work, what makes him one of the greatest up and comers in comedy imo

This is naive. The moment you said “nobody” based on a crowd of people who looked for Andrew, paid to see Andrew, and are sitting at his show. This crowd is not a microcosm if the works. It’s the exact opposite. I’m Nigerian. I think it’s funny. If you’ve been to Africa and nigeria, you know albinos are everywhere and you see them daily. My Dad would be absolutely pissed if he watched this. He’s actually had jobs not given to him despite being highly educated and an excellent candidate, because of his accent, his Nigerian name, and his skin color. I doubt my pops in his 70s would even sit through this five minute clip.
It’s not always about intent.
People have lived experiences. A black man struggling to provide for his family because the better job won’t hire a black man with an accent, will not be pleased to hear skin color and accent jokes thinking “it’s cool, the intent wasn’t bad.”

Im also African and my Uncle loves watching "no bars" comedians. I agree its not always about intent but you can't just write over it based on personal anecdotes. People like the dude even with the jokes he's making so he's probably doing something right.
