    Those of you saying "you could just wash your hair" that's the point of the video, she's making a dry shampoo to clean up her hair and remove some of the oil in between washes. Also not everyone can wash their hair on a daily basis(African Americans)

    I've been using this mixture for almost three years now, (on days 3-5) and I find that it works best if you put it on the night before. It has time to soak up some of the oil then. :)
    (As a disclaimer - my hair is extremely fine and thin, and washing my hair too often dries it out and makes it fall out like crazy. I shower often, but only wash my hair every 3-5 days.)

  • @AudreyArequipa

    It worked a lot better on me! + extra volume! i have dark hair but i use cornstach alone... i let it sit 10 minutes before i brush my hair. your cornstarch did not have time to absorb anything!

    I always just use baby powder because I have platinum blonde hair anyways and it matches but it works the best for me! Also, I read that the way to use this is to put A LOT on your hair and let it absorb while you do your makeup and stuff and then comb it out or use a towel and that works the best for me, it feels like i just washed my hair which is great because i can't wash my hair much now since it's dead lol. ALSO YOUR HAIR LOOKS SO GOOD IT'S ALL SHINY, STRONG AND LONG

      Ivybirb :3 michaela said what she did because there are other people saying “why don’t you just wash your hair instead of using dry shampoo”. You need to train your hair & do something different. I use to have to wash my hair every single day as well, it use to be greasy & I would get dandruff like crazy at the same time. Don’t touch your hair, oils & dirt from your hands is part of the problem. Make sure you’re rinsing your hair well enough & with LUKEWARM WATER not hot. & rinse it with ACV (you can rinse that out too after but you don’t have too) I like using doves dandruff shampoo, but rn I’m just using garnier whole blends honey shampoo with no problems because I’ve been working so hard on fixing my hair. I like putting a diy hair mask on once a week, 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, & 1 tablespoon of mayo is the basic. Leave it for at least 30 minutes, wash your hair like normal. You can adjust it to however you’d like, do some research to see what else you can add to your masks (oats, yogurt, avocado, etc.) I use artnaturals argan leave in conditioner, 1-2 pumps depending on your hair length is enough, use it after each wash it makes your hair so soft, shiny, & it smells amazing my bf compliments me every single time I put it on lol. I only have to wash my hair 2-3 times a week now, I aim for 2 but sometimes if I want to look extra nice I will make sure my hair is freshly washed. I rinse my hair with just water sometimes too now which helps a lottt, still rinse it well then add the leave in conditioner after. I really hope this helps you, or anyone else who might need it. ✨ edit: if anyone has questions I’m happy to answer them. x

      @_.soymilk Před 4 lety +3

      Ivybirb :3 the more you wash your hair the faster your scalp is going to produce oil bc you’re stripping it away with shampoo all the time. It’s a cycle lol so washing it so often is the main cause of the oil production being so high. Washing your hair less gradually will train your scalp to stop producing oils so fast

    • @_TSC_46
      @_TSC_46 Před 3 lety +1

      Ivy_ Bird if it’s because of a grease problem, it’s because your washing your hair everyday. Your stripping your hair everyday so your scalp is like well we don’t wanna die so it produces more and more oil to protect the hair. Start washing it every 2 days to slowly condition your scalp to calm down. Your hair will be healthier and softer. I generally wash my hair every 4-5 days. That’s also cause I have a shit ton and it takes forever to wash and dry lol

    • @mobstercrow7515
      @mobstercrow7515 Před 2 lety

      @@ivy_bird7256 you dont have to wash your hair every day no matter what your hair is like, washing more often gets rid of your hairs natural oil so it produces more oil since its so dry, you need to wash every other day then eventually wash every 3 or 4 days and your hair will thank you

    I have PCOS and it makes my hair greasy really fast. I can shower at 7 am and my hair is greasy by 3 pm. I have to wash it either every day or every other day. I will usually do it every other day just to save water and not damage my hair. Anyway, when I need something done before I wash it then I just use baby powder. I have used dove and it's okay. Makes for a great messy bun or pony tail with the DOVE. But baby powder is cheap and when you do it right it really helps and doesn't leave a white layer on your hair.

    Right now I have Batiste Tropical dry shampoo, I prever the cherry/blush version though :) The tropical smells too coconutty for my taste.
    I mainly picked it because its vegan, but I fell in love with its "power"

    Idk if anyone's said this, but maybe try mixing cornstarch with activated charcoal since your hair is so dark. I usually use straight AC, but it may not be as coat efficient as store bought shampoo, so mixing it may make it go a much longer way. Activated charcoal is SUPER absorbent too!

    What I love about dry shampoo like Batiste is the volume and movement it adds to my hair. I feel like this technique didn't add any and I also feel like I can kinda see the powder in the hair. I have heard about arrow root powder to use as dry shampoo. Maybe try that next? ❤❤

    I use Gold Bond body powder. It makes your scalp feel minty fresh and soothes itchies if you have a dry scalp. Because I get oily hair but dry scalp.

    I use baby power, but I also put a few drops of essential oils to make it smell good. I put it in a parmesan shaker and use it that way, with the shaker you get more in your entire hair faster then if you use a brush. Trick is to EVENLY use the product as possible on roots and first couple inch of gray hair then run fingers threw do the rest of your stuff to get ready for the day while it sits there and when your ready to finish your hair the powder should have soaked up mist the oil in hair and gives your hair body and shine again
