- These small jars are some of my favourite pots once fired and this video shows how I throw, trim, glaze and fire them. They're fiddly vessels to finish but I really love how they look and feel once fired.
Thanks for watching and if you're got any further questions please leave it down in the comments and I'll do my best to reply.

The tinkling noise is actually the sound of him collecting all the experience from the kiln
LOL
Awesome 😎
I love that sparkly crackling noise when the kiln is open
It's a pleasant one, as is the lovely warm air that heats the studio when the door is opened in the winter.
@@floriangadsby but you surely must resent opening the kiln in the midst of a scorching hot summer :)
Good contrast to the dissonant roar of the kiln itself.
That was utterly beautiful to watch. You have always been so generous with your information, advice and the sharing of your techniques. There is a whole generation of potters inspired by you and your philosophy. Thank you
I want to get to this level in my sewing and crafting; not the scale of production, necessarily, but the act of making something that someone else would treasure and consider a precious possession.
The musical sound when you open the kiln is so magical.
the algorithm sent me here. i’ve never watched clay throwing (?) in my life. i love this. binging. camera work is my jam, and does not disappoint in these videos.
Did you watch ASMR videos? That could be the connection
My first impression to this video was “I remember my art teacher telling me that learning a pottery wheel is like learning an instrument” and I agreed with him based solely on his decades of experience in art.
When I saw you forming the pots I was careful to tell myself “it may look easy and flashy but he’s definitely making this look easy.”
And I knew for certain you make it look easy and were quickly approaching a perfected product when I saw that enormous oven you fired the jars in. Anyone who has an oven that big doesn’t just fuck around with clay on the weekends, it takes years of dedication to make this a career and it should be respected deeply.
I love how accurate you work. Every pot looks so perfect. No mess of clay anywhere. You speak with such a calming voice, I really enjoy watching your videos. Thank you
Thank you Eva! You're too kind 🙌🏼

This channel is gonna blow up real soon
I kiln feel it too
My pottery teacher showed your videos in class, I was never too interested in physical art forms but I have a huge amount of respect for people that have the time and dedication to turn mud into something practical
Don't know, why this is in my recommendation section, but I like it :-)
There is something relaxing about playing with the earth. Be it pottery or be it gardening, touching clay or mud is just Soo relaxing. Gonna start spending time doing one
Thankyou so much! My interest on pottery suddenly increased watching this video.
I like your voice,so clear and calm.I can understand everything.NIce demonstration.Thank you so much.
Thank you very much! That really means so much.
Oh my, ....... apothecary jars. The precision, Wow. Hand thrown, ..the precision! The glaze, Oh... I live so far away from these precious jars. Website, a must visit. Subscribed! :)
The tinkling of the glaze has an indescribable appeal. It's like it's greeting you with a subtle magic when you open up the kiln to see all the finished pieces.
I'd love to pick up pottery as a hobby. I love experimentation and trial and error problem solving. It would be meditative and, perhaps just as important, produce useful items. I should start learning about it.
Think I'll check out your store while I'm at it too
Just perfect for spices, I think... very beatiful little pots.... thanks for showing
This is the type of content i would watch all day... This is the perfect example of "Satisfaction" 🏺 NEVER EVER QUIT:)
These pots are absolutely lovely....perfect size for expensive Japanese green teas...sencha, tencha and gyokuros that are purchased in 50-100g sizes.
These are stunning. I see a collection of these on a shelf full of herbs. Gorgeous.
You say that it's a simple shape, with your talent you make it look majestic 😊 Thanks for sharing 🥰
I have absolutely zero need for a little pot like this but does that stop me from wanting one? Absolutely not 🤣💕
Those jars would look so beautiful in one’s kitchen or bathroom.
The amount of confidence you have in your craft to just detail out not only every step of your process but the thinking behind each is so impressive. Just happened upon this but I've been following your work on insta for a long time, really excited to see you on youtube.
I would use them as apothecary jars. They are absolutely wonderful.
As a musician (and a potter), I think it would be lovely if you made a recording of the crackling sound and either gave it to a composer friend or used it as intro music. 😊🎼
following some of your techniques has made me a better potter
thank you
What a skilled artisan. Really fascinating video.
Another splendid video! Thanks. Watching these is very therapeutic. You should bill my health insurance.
Your videos are like a pottery master class... Thank you for reaching the art of basic pottery to the whole world.
I love these “simple” pieces, I’m definitely going to try a few of these!
I stumbled upon your video today and watched in admiration of your jar construction. My mother was a potter and I so enjoyed watching you throw.
Your voice is so soothing. Your hands are lovely. They can throw beautiful pieces in a wheel or play me a lullaby on the piano.
Well that was just a crazy fun watch of something I'll probably never own or hold in my life.
Such a gorgeous piece. Your explanations make pottery so easy to understand!
I love all your videos, your voice and tone are somehow therapeutic. I am doing pottery on my own without guidance and I find them very helpful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Ancient pots...feels a bit Egyptian...i love them! Thank you for this beautiful video! Inspired again☺️🙏🏻☀️
These absolutely represent your style - love green! Appreciate your videos too - learn from each one
Love it! They look like little jars you'd see in an apothecary or something. Perfect for spices, herbs, or teas. They're very aesthetically pleasing.
Your skills are exemplary and watching the process is fascinating. Thank you for this!
I just started and with every video you make, it inspires me. It's a long road, I know, but your lessons make it worth attempting. Throw on ~
I thoroughly enjoyed this. The crackling of the glass towards the end was very beautiful and relaxing. Your designs are equally as gorgeous!
Best video I have ever seen. Great camera shots up close, and explainations! Very helpful.
Man, this video is really soothing to the creative soul
one of the best recommandations from youtube. to bad those are few and far in between. i would love to see more channels like yours. great job man!
Thank you, I can't say how kind that is. So appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Thank you for showing and explaining the process
Just stumbled onto this video and I'm blown away. Amazing content
I'm struck by how much all of your work looks so modern and precise but still unmistakably hand-made. Really amazing. It's a shame they're all sold out, though I suppose thats a good problem for you to have
I imagine these would be lovely for small batch loose leaf tea. They're absolutely gorgeous.
just ran across this channel in my recommended, and I must say, I love your work!
The explanation is so easy and crisp...love your work tooo....makes me want to learn pottery myself ❤️
I love these!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Perfect for me who's trying to get rid of disposable containers
Very cute monolithic jars.
I want to learn this art of pottery and teach it to all the children specially from villages, u have taken the pottery to an another level.... The things u r making needs to be delivered to every part of the world, because we need pottery products not plastic products, and ur work of excellence had made these products not just usable and acceptable but also exciting to use.... Thank you so much
I’m so excited to support you when your shop opens!!!
No that noise is from him eating Nerds...great video. Amazed at that process.
Your work and narration reminds me of the Wood working guy "FourEyes".
I'm not complaining tho.
Absolutely wonderful. Peaceful and inspiring at the same time, thank you.
Thank you!
your pottery is so beautiful, i love that speckled green color to them
That crackling sound! Wakes up small Golum inside me.
We Wants It!!!
Gorgeous, and amazing to watch along with informative.
appreciate the overhead angle, these are quaint pieces
The ending is mind-blowing ❤️
Utterly spectacular piece man, these are beautiful!
I so love the simplicity of these lidded jars and have been trying to analyze them to figure out how I could translate the lessons here into making a butter crock (or French butter dish). I’ve found a few tutorials on making butter crocks but none that go into the detail you tend to include in your videos, nor do they address the complexity of glazing a two-part pot that has a top that also must serve as a the base. I don’t know whether you’d ever consider it but I’d love to see a tutorial on such a pot if that shape was of any interest to you!
lovely jars..and very helpful info and tips.
Florian, those would make a beautiful custom spice jar collection. You could carefully stamp the names of spices on the side in a nice custom script and they would sell for top prices.
Really enjoyed this process. I would also enjoy something similar set to music with no explainer. Just a thought for future content.
you make it look easy, thanks for sharing you majestic work. love your vids keep it up
Amazing work. The end result is a beauty for sure
This video is so mesmerising and anxiety-reliefing! Guess I'm not the first, but you're like Bob Ross of pottery!
Dream of having a whole shelf of your work one day!
You are a good teacher. I feel interested in this and know it would take me quite a time to do this well but I would get there with your tutoring.
Awesome video and pottery workmanship. Loved it 👌
Damn! This was magic to watch. I'm just getting into ceramics and you have inspired me.
They're absolutly beautiful
Artistry. Amazing hand skills.
Another great job you don’t need a pointer you have it Mastered 👍
Beautiful!
Thank you for sharing!
First time on ur channel and already subscribed. These pots are some what calming to look at it.
Absolutely beautiful,,,,so much hard work ,,,amazing,,,love them all
Amazing results, you work very hard.
Praise the algorithm. Well done brother
Enjoy all your video/guidance, but I found this one particularily helpful. Thanks so much and Congrats! Parabens! at reaching 50 000.
Looks lovely! Thanks for sharing
If you were to add a tiny gasket to help keep it airtight, these would make excellent tea jars
I couldn't withstand the call of the holy algorithm. I'm just a piece in the lord's puzzle
Do the lords bidding, watch the bearded man make clay things with his hands.
@@floriangadsby What a wonderful sentence for someone like me, a fellow follower of the algorithm, to hear
Brilliant explanation with a brilliant video!
This video really makes me miss making pottery. Your production value is excellent, and thank you for sharing. I would enjoy hearing more about the wadding, if you're willing to share. What are the rules for using it? Does it ever stick to the clay after firing? Does it stick to glaze?
I love your art it is something special to sre some one who has mastered there craft
12:08 this little _bloop_ is everything 👌
You've inspired me to make some spice jars!
Thank you for your wonderful video.
fascinating process and I love your narration 🧐
I love those jars! My pottery classes have been cancelled during the pandemic, so it's really nice to be able to get a ceramics fix every week haha
you cant even imagine how much you help my anxiety. Thanks.
They are very cool! Well done 👍
Incredible ❤ you’re really great at this
Wow! You make it look so easy!
They're stunning!
