I rented one while in SC this fall. I found it to be a very capable, comfortable vehicle to drive. I’d buy one! Loved it!
I have a 2017 XT5 for a daily driver, I love it! But it looks identical to the 2023's. The only difference is the control nob just ahead of the arm rest
Lots of things this evaluator does know how to use which makes others think it can’t do certain things. Like the park assist as just one example. She did not have the camera features set up properly and no guide lines. I wouldn’t place too much on her thoughts, be them good or bad.
the seast are GREAT! Sturdy and wont "wear" over time like less durable seats do..
the board only needs ONE "back button"! DO NOT MAKE THIS VEHICLE INTO AN 'APPLE' VEHICLE!! the apple phone is notorious for the endless "back button"mentality.. exhaustive and the ad nauseum "back, back, back" button-pushing is for middler schoolers.. Im an Adult and want to drive my vehicle! not play with social media whilwe driving.. I mean, some of us KNOW where we are going !
and dont hav a camera? imagine LOOKING OUTSIDE!
what is missing on the new center cluster is the MEDIA button.. you hav to click 'more' then it goes to connect for the phone access, spotify, streaming, etc..
youre RIGHT about the redundancy! the controls are there, then below, as well as in the monologue cluster, and its just messy.. FIX IT UP CADILLAC!!
I would also like to see the lights around the front hood logo like they hav in the Lyriq! I will never buy EV since the amount of fossil fuels needed to generate the electricity to power those vehicles is MORE than just from fossil fuels alone .. its (ridiculous!)
I also HATE the stupid knob by the gear shift.. they took away the "swipe" volume bar, and put it as a knob sticking up right by my right arm/hand as a driver.. also the other larger knob is another PITA which is completely unnecessary! its in the way and again, redundant.
lastly, if you dont appreciate this lovely vehicle, fine. but may of us ladies do because its smaller (we dont need to haul half the kids classroom around anymore) the seats are TERRIFIC, its luxury, sharp with the classic cadillac lights and look, and being AMERICAN MADE it just checks all the boxes..
I am highly considering this vehicle and always buy used so it's nice to be able to watch these older reviews. I have a 14 year old car so what you complain about wouldn't bother me lol. Thanks for the video!

Definitely see if you can do a longer test, because the seats are definitely make it or break it kind of thing.
I have a 2022 XT5 and my seats are much different than those, mine are super comfortable .. What she failed to mention is the ridiculously small middle seat in the back, it's like 11 inches wide !!!!
I'm buying one next week. It has different seats.
Going into reverse gear first, for just a second, will turn on the cameras for reverse and forward. Go faster than 12 or so and the cameras shut off after 8 seconds.
But it popped off after it was already on! I definitely wasn't going faster than 12 MPH trying to get out of the parking space. Plus, I like cameras that pop on with proximity sensors, and if I have to turn it on myself, I don't want the icon buried in a menu ... I parallel park a lot in Chicago. All of this would drive me nuts long term.

I'm totally comfortable in my seats and I'm a big man. I Love my Cadillac ride.
It's a good thing you had the Platinum package on that XT5 . . the seats with the standard interior are even FIRMER !!! ( the "leather" is softer itself in the Platinum trim )
I get 28mpg city on my 19' camry le. I really wanted this vehicle. Will have to look at the Venza :/
That's the first XT5 interior that I find ugly.....too many clashing colors.
Go for the XT5 with carbon fibre accents and standard six piston Brembo brakes.
The XT5 design has to be at least 7 years old by now. Seems like they’ve been around a long time.
The XT6 is really just a stretched XT5. They are both due for a redesign.

Never mind redesign them..discontinue them and bring them back as rear wheel drive cars so they can compete with the Europeans instead of the lame-ass Lincoln

LOL. This was filmed in like March. 😬 So it's warm here, too. But as I type this, I do have my space heater on in my office. So 🤷🏻♀️ 😂

Front ca,era shitting off after a few seconds is a safety measure so you don’t drive with front camera as t can take your attention away from actually driving.
I don’t want to drive with it on. But I do want to be able to get out of a parking space with it on.
@@jillciminillo That is true, there should be a option to just recognize you are leaving parking, but that requires auto parking departure which as you stated, this vehicle does not have or is not completely automated.

@@jillciminillo Yup, I was stationed on the navy base up there in 1984, and yes the weather was definitely… special.
Truly sad that there is such a huge gap in function, power & economy between the CT5, CT6 & the Escalade. Aside from price, there’s little benefit to owning one of these smaller SUVs.
Some people don't need a bit vehicle but want more functionality. So, I see the benefit. IMHO, this was just poorly executed. I don't know if big changes are coming or if Cadillac is just biding time for its all EV future.
@@jillciminillo - I think the later is what’s happening now. Cadillac is putting all of its eggs in the EV basket & that will bite them in the ass soon. Where I live, there are zero chargers & it would take me days to get out of Texas with the current EV technology. I’m not buying one anytime soon, not because I don’t like them, but because their lack of infrastructure just won’t work for me.
@@cmdrdarwin3682 Yeah. There's a lot of infrastructure work that needs to be done. Even in Chicago where there are chargers, it's a crap shoot as to whether it'll be working, plowed in, ICED or something else really weird. I had one experience where I needed a charge and a guy in a work van was "saving" the space for his wife in a Leaf. I'm like, dude, that is not how this works ...
