Lesson 22: The Weather
Ask and Answer: What's the weather like (today)?
These are REAL lessons. No actors. No scripts. A real learning experience.
Do you know a friend or family member who needs to learn English? Tell them they can learn along with Natasha as I teach her the basics of the English language.
I will not be posting captions (subtitles) on these early lessons. I want beginners to develop their listening skills. I will write all important information on the board. Happy Studies to all!

The full question must be: "What's the weather like (today)?"
You can also ask: "What's it like outside?" / "What's the (weather) forecast for today?"

Hello. You need to say, "It's raining." Use the subject IT for the weather: It's rainy. It's cloudy. It's cold. It's hot. It's sunny. It's snowing. (Etc.) Feel free to ask more questions. :)
I am glad the lessons are helping many others. Natasha and I are still meeting, but not as often as we'd like. I will record our lesson next week, so there will be new material to study soon!

Please watch your spelling: English, please, I (capital "i").
Also use correct punctuation: I'm / it's.

No, I studied just a little many years ago to get a sense of how the language works and so that I could understand the basic topic of conversation around me. Eu nao sei muitas palavras. :(
Yes, I liked the idea of teaching a real student on camera and letting others share the experience. Natasha struggles, just like many others. When progress is made, we're genuinely happy. :)

No, I won't leave YT. My videos will still be here, but comments will be limited. YT limits how many characters can appear in a comment and how many comments I can post in one sitting. I need more freedom when I answer langauge questions. I also want learners to be able to search for related questions/ responses. Don't worry. I'll still be present on YT, but I want to offer more help, and I can only do that on my own website.

Corrections: replies .... and correct my English. ...I studied English from kindergarten to tenth grade, but my English is still bad (no it isn't!)
You get your message across successfully. You need to focus on making your grammar and word choice more accurate. That's a realistic goal. :)

Hi. I saw your question on another thread. Did you get my response? "Icy grip temperature" isn't a common expression. I think it must refer to freezing temperatures. "Ain't" is a negative form of BE for all subjects, BUT it's not standard and I DON'T recommend using it. I hope you'll visit my community forum when I open it next week. I've seen "gift" recognized as a verb in some dictionaries, but it's simply not a common use at all. "Present... as a gift" or "give the gift of..." are used more often, and they sound more natural. I do appreciate your poet's heart, though. :)

If I were inside and my husband had just come in from outside, I'd ask: "What's the weather like?" / "What's it like outside?"/ or simply "Is it cold outside?"
If I were on the phone with my husband, who was on a business trip in Miami, Florida (far from Boston), I'd ask: "How's the weather?" or "How's the weather down there?"
PS - I don't use FB much at all.

Hm. Well, the closest I came to doing something like that was when I performed the Filipino dance called Tinikling. You can find some really amazing performances of Tinikling here on CZcams. :)
