When the main verb is BE, we do not need an auxiliary verb.
What color is the tie?
What is your name.
What are these?
Compare: main verb SEE
What do you see?
What does she see?
Does that make sense?
Thank you for the lesson. I've learned your methodologies.
In American English we use the helping verb DO. > "Do you have a job?"

Hello. Please visit my website and read my Study Tips. I have suggestions for spelling. It's helpful to learn patterns. For example, that /f/ can be written as F, FF, or PH. Then you lean that FF will only occur at the end of a syllable, for instance, STAFF or STUFFY. I also list recommended sites with spelling resources. Good luck!

Hi teacher 😍💪🏻! Hope you’re doing fine ❤️! There’s this song ‘Halsey - Colors’. I listened the song and yeah I can say I like it. So, in English, sometimes the color blue can mean 'sad', right? But how could I differentiate well from the sense of color to a state or feeling in sentences?
Yes, "feeling blue" means feeling sad. You just have to pay attention to the context. A blue sky and a blue dress have nothing to do with sadness, right? :) Don't forget there's a genre of music called the blues!
JenniferESL Thanks. I'm so grateful you’re my teacher. Your positivity and encouragement brightened my days of learning English 😃😍💪🏻😘.
Thanks Jennifer!
Any advice on how to learn English easily?
There are no shortcuts. Identify your goals and form a realistic study plan. Ask questions and seek different kinds of practice with different speakers of English.

Hello Ahmad! I'll answer this question, but then would you do me a favor and visit my forum? (Click on my CZcams banner to get to my website.) :) You'll have to sign in, but it's completely free. My goal is to record all questions and answers there. Over time your questions and my answers will be a searchable database of information that all learners can benefit from. By the way, have you watched my American Slang playlist?
American English is my native language. My secondary is Mexican Spanish dialect.
Please visit my website to find more videos and resources. I have one native speaker who studies with me to work on his professional writing skills. Another woman is also Mexican American like you, and we study a range of skills. For example, we're building her academic vocabulary and improving her business writing.
it's very helpful lesson for me which still learning English language Mrs Jennifer, but i have a question.
e.g
me: what color are the pants?
you: they're black and grey.
so, why we say " they're " in object like pants (noun).
not "those are"
thanks a bunch for your answer :)
Hi. Good question. We use THOSE (these, this, that) to point to something near or far. If you're making a general statement and the listener knows what you're talking about, you can use a regular subject pronoun: THEY (it).
Some models:
Q: Did you go shopping?
A: Yeah. I got new pants. They're blue.
Q: I like your pants. But are they blue or black?
A: They're blue.
Q: Which pants do you think I should get? I can't choose between these two pairs.
A: I like those blue pants. They look comfortable.
Finally, i got the answer.
Thanks a lot for your answer Mrs Jennifer, i'm so zestful now to learn English with your video.
ta!
Hello.Jennifer how can I learn spellings? Thank you for your help.
I hope to see U
HELLO Teacher how are you ? I have Aqauestion . if i want to ask about color of your eye how ask and uses eye or eyes color or colors ?
+Duha Ahmed You can ask, "What color are your eyes?" Some say, "What's the color of your eyes?"
Thank you 🌺.
You would say "the skirt is green" or "it's a green skirt"
madam,like vegetables also those?
+babu munshi Hi. I like vegetables. Do you?
Examples:
A: Do you like these vegetables? I have corn, peppers, and peas. (near person A)
B: No, I don't like those. I like these. I like cabbage, onions, and carrots. (near person B)
Does that help?
when i learn english i ll go to usa or canda i dont know yet
The chance to study in either the U.S. or Canada would be a wonderful thing. Good luck to you! :)
Mrs Jennifer. Does Pistachio green exist? I mean- is this expression usually used by Americans ? Also "hazel eyes" is this expression used? Or you simply say "light Brown" ?
+Amina TAHRI Hi again. No, it's not a common expression, but I understand what you mean. For eye color, we use both "hazel" and "light brown."
❤❤❤👌👌👌
Thanks for watching.
pls jennifer can we say
what color is the skirt
♦ that skirt is a green or this is a green skirt ؟؟
Hi. Do not use "a" before only "green." Use "a" before a noun (a skirt) or a noun phrase (a green skirt).
THAT skirt = the skirt is not close to you
THIS skirt = the skirt is close to you
Correct: That is a green skirt. This is a green skirt. That skirt is green. This skirt is green.
