    ***** "I did work..." = The helping verb "did" is there for emphasis, but this is the simple past. It's a reference to a past period of time, and the action was finished. / "I had worked..." = This is the past perfect. You'd only use that verb form to distinguish an earlier past point of time from a later past point in time. Example: I had worked at MNC for five years before my promotion.
    Hope that helps. Regards!

    Hello. I hope to make more lessons with Natasha. We need to study the past tense.
    HAD is the past form of HAVE: Yesterday I had lunch with Natasha.
    DID is the past form of DO: Natasha did her homework.
    We use DID in the negative and in questions:
    1. Did you have lunch with Natasha? - Yes, I did. / No, I didn't.
    2. I didn't (did not) see you yesterday.

    Jennifer last night in my class a doubt came up as follows:
    In Portuguese we say "much fewer" but I knew we couldn't use a noncount adjective with a plural noun, so I searched the best solution for this and this is what I came up with, "far fewer", so I thought this doubt and solution could be useful to you and our community.
    I know, we say, "much less" and the comparative for more is easy, but the comparative for less or fewer is confusing. I hope this comment is helpful.
    I continue recommending your wonderful videos to my students in Brazil. Blessings to you.

    • @Englishwithjennifer
      @Englishwithjennifer  Před 7 lety

    Excuse me Mrs Jennifer I have a question; I don't understand when we use "s", "es" and "ies"..?

    • @Englishwithjennifer
      @Englishwithjennifer  Před 7 lety

      Often we add -s to a singular noun: cup, cups/ girl, girls.
      If a word ends in a consonant + Y, we change the Y to I and add -es: baby, babies/ lady, ladies.
      With hissing kinds of letters like CH, SH, Z, S, etc. you add -es and say an extra syllable: watch, watches/ brush, brushes/ bus, buses.

      Hello Rozel. I'm very happy you're watching my lessons. There are 65 videos in this series. I will try to add more. I'm not on Facebook right now. You can post questions or just say hello here on CZcams. :) Keep up your studies! Have a good weekend!

      Rozel Fedorova Rozel, please also use some of my videos in the Oral Reading Fluency playlist. The first few texts are rather easy, and I think you'll enjoy the practice. Good luck!
