The Mercedes-Benz GLE is new for 2020. This is a brand new luxury SUV from the wheels up. The new Mercedes GLE is sold as a GLE450 or GLE350. The GLE450 comes with a new in-line 6-cylinder turbocharged engine with 362hp. The GLE350 is fitted with a turbo 4-cylinder and 255hp. Both of this new luxury utility vehicles comes with standard AWD and a 9-speed automatic transmission. The new Mercedes-Benz GLE is longer, wider and has a longer wheelbase, making much more room in the second row and now available with an optional 3rd row, for up to 7-passengers. The interior of the new GLE from Mercedes is a real showstopper, thanks to the MBUX interface that consists of two 12.3-inch screens and a new interface. The GLE is sold with regular shocks and springs but the buyer can choose the optional air suspension and even the E-Active Body Control system that smooths out the roads imperfection, adjusting ride hight and other tricks. The ride of this setup is rather soft. This new Mercedes-Benz GLE might be the most advanced mid-size utility on the road but the options can get very expensive.

I was shopping for a car earlier in the year and I was looking at the Benz C-Class. The bare minimum model starts at around $42K (and you'll never find a dealer anywhere that has the bare minimum model on their lot). When you start adding the needed features that are crucial in the northeastern winter conditions, the price jacks up exponentially! Even when you try to swap something more aesthetically appealing like seat colors or wheel colors/design, you immediately get a message that you'll need to upgrade to the AMG line. Seriously, MB is trying to sell the AMG line like it's the new oxygen.
P.S This was the most fun Motormouth video of the year.....the bucking car, sailor hats, love handles et al. 😅

All German brands are pretty much top notch in my book. I usually pick them through my own personal taste from the current looks.
Currently, I like more the BMW looks (except the new 4 series🤮).
So between the Audi Q8, the MB GLE and the BMW X5...I prefer the X5 without any doubt. As of now that is.
But whichever you pick, you nailed it, they're all beautiful and awesome suvs. Can't go wrong on picking any of those luxury German brands.
Good presentation overall - with one exception. No mention at all about the engine.

My daughter just got GLE 350 used 23,000 miles on it, everything was great till start raining, leaking water left back side of the car, took it to the Mercedes dealer shop, . They told her they cleaned it up, it should be fine now. Then here comes heavy rain again , and start leaking again, and this time left and right backside leaking now. Call them, told her to bring it in, and they said they seen this problem before, then 2 days later, surprisingly told her that it is not covered with the warranty, and she should call her car insurance to get it fix.
You’ll be happy to know E-Active Body Control is absent from the 2021 US Order Guide. Guess the haters did it in. :(
I believe it is available on the 2021 Mercedes S-Class if you really have to have it.

Awesome review! I just bought the 2020 GLE 450. Mine cost about the same ($81,000 USD). I do have an upgraded suspension--Airmatic but not the full E-Active. This upgrade is $1710 USD. I think the ride is super smooth but it is a little floaty boaty for me. WIfe loves it. Anyway, yeah, the GLE 450 is costly, but it is an awesome and very luxurious car. I think it is worth the money.

9 grand for both suspension option is too much, considering you'll need to do pay for it against down the line once you need to have maintenance done on it. That needs to come down in price.

For that price you can get a Jaguar f-pace SVR and even have a few k left over. Maybe not as refined on the inside but a hello of lit more fun.
