    E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL is an all-new suspension system powered in part by the 48V battery and developed by Mercedes-Benz. As the only system on the market where the spring and damping forces can be individually controlled at each wheel, E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL is the world's most intelligent SUV suspension that uses Road Surface Scan and a curve inclination function that make an extraordinary level of comfort possible.
    48-Volt onboard electrical system technology with EQ Boost: The engines found in the GLE 450 4MATIC and GLE 580 4MATIC are supplemented with a powerful and efficient Integrated-Starter Generator. This integrated electric motor system, known as EQ Boost, assists the combustion engine by adding up to 21 hp for short periods of time. EQ Boost also assists when accelerating, making driving without the combustion engine turned on possible ("sailing") and supplies the battery with power by means of high-efficiency recuperation.

    What a lovely car. Wow. I am am still in love with it. That Energizing Comfort is so worth it. I can imagine myself on a long road trip on a cold night with the comforting music playing the entire time with the ambient lighting, heated seats, and massage on, a huge cup of chocolate milkshake in the heated cup holder, the panoramic sunroof cover open letting in the night sky light, and the bright headlights perfectly illuminating the dark roads. Curve mode would be on, so the car leans into the corners so comfortably.
    Mercedes-Benz knows how to make a modern luxury car better than anyone else, in my opinion. The ambience and feel in of this car (and others) are breathtaking. That is why this car (and other modern Mercedes-Benz cars) are selling extremely well. Daimler just released their quarter sales for 2020. Looking quite strong, despite the pandemic and the price of these cars. This GLE is so futuristic. In my opinion, this car perfectly balances luxurious innovative technology and physical innovative luxury a little bit better than the new S-Class does. The new S-Class is leaning a little bit to one side. That thought may change when I drive the S-Class. Both are still great and luxurious cars, of course. There is no denying that.
    The GLE in the video is basically how I would specify mine. It is just the exterior colour that I am not too sure of. There are so many great colours for this car, I cannot easily choose. Stunning colour on this car. I read the options list in the description. Overall, it fits to what I would have on it. The interior would pretty much be as it is in the video. I love contrasting interiors for pure luxury Benz, but (mostly) black for pure AMG cars. For specifying my Benz, I like mixing a modern aesthetic with a touch of old-school. So, my car would be modern with the screens, ambient lighting, energizing comfort, gesture control, voice commands, intelligent headlights, augmented reality, and so one. But the old-school touch is the lighter brown wood trim, elements of beige in the interior, and no night package. I like all the chrome. All I wish was if the GLE had a bit of diamond stitching on the doors and seats like the previous model did. But this version is already perfect.
    It costs ONLY $83 000? Wow, I don't know about taxes over there, but $83 000 for this GLE is WELL worth it. For me, that is an absolute STEAL. That is not cheap by any means, but for THIS car...that is worth it. Mercedes-Benz is a luxury brand. Being affordable is not what they are going for, and rightfully so. I would not want them to charge less. Part of the fun is spending.
    Great review on this beautiful car. If you can, please do more nighttime videos with this car and showcase more of the energizing comfort menus. This is absolutely breathtaking.

    Is Mercedes better now? I’ve heard a lot of horror stories in maintenance costs.

    • @BenjaminMutuku
      @BenjaminMutuku  Před 3 lety +6

      It's not entirely true. I have two models - an ML 400 and a C class. Maintenance is not expensive given that I service the cars once a year or every 10,000 miles. I had a Nissan which cost more for service than both of these cars.

      @@BenjaminMutuku not really, my dad had the old GLE, and it was a pain to own... my dad had creeks after 2 weeks of ownership. Then the ac compressor went out at 1 year of ownership, then some sensors of the safety systems went out around May of 2020. Then on October, my dad went and bought a Lexus, and is happy. For the Mercedes, he had $10k in repairs. My dad said he will never buy a Mercedes again, and only Acura or Lexus. The Mercedes's might be nice, and have a lot of tech. But when it comes to maintenance the new ones cost a lot to maintain.

    My 2 month’s income can afford this car, but I still drive my 15 year old Toyota. It never breaks. German cars will get lots of issues after driving 50K miles, so get ready for spending 4 figures each time on fixing the sucker, idiots.

    • @BenjaminMutuku
      @BenjaminMutuku  Před 3 lety +6

      It depends on how you treat your car. I’ve owned Mercedes-Benz for 10 years and they don’t break. Typical annual oil change (service maintenance) is all you need (~$300). Every other year, I receive complementary (free) service maintenance. Break service is every 4 years. My Nisan annual repair costs were twice the Mercedes-Benz costs. It all depends on how you treat your car.
