In the states, we get a 4 cylinder gas engine. My parents purchased it with steel spring suspension and 19" wheels. It rides really well. It's a really tall vehicle. It's almost like sitting up in a G-Wagen. It handles far better than the prior version. It actually has more interior space than the X5 - both in the second row and the boot.
Audi Q7 exterior, Mercedes GLE interior, BMW X5 performance = brilliance
Toyota Reliability would complete this motoring nirvana
Personally I think the Q7 just has disproportioned styling, just looks strange to me 🤷🏼♂️

I love this SUV and I think they should put a AMG engine in this.

This car is so elegant and classy and stylishly designed and it's sophisticated. Better than The Q7 or X5.
The only part I dont like is like is the face, its too squinty looking and looks sad, dull and miserable, bmw looks way more aggressive and has a lot more road presence!!
I'm sure the materials in the interior seem pretty plush but what about what's behind? Will the electricals be working well in 3 years time? I have never thought of mercs (at least modern ones) being particularly well built to be honest, that's purely going on satisfaction surveys like JD power or what I have read or heard from owners
It looks Magic , and I would order as soon as I can the GLE AMG 53 ,a super car for next year !!!!

Great review. Front looks ok , back looks like a Mitsubishi Outlander and interior is a going to date look wise fast. Mercedes tends to date much faster than other brands and I bet Benz does this on purpose to keep people updating.
I remember seeing the Mercedes M in Jurassic Park movie. I did not realize how big it was in person.

GLE 400d diesel vs 450 petrol which one is better in terms of ride quality, driving experience? And does the EQ boost technology impact on 450 performance? I heard the 450 engine lags and the battery makes whining noise, is this true?
I really like everything about this SUV, except for the odd shape of the rear lights, which look like they belong on a Kia not a Mercedes.

I see that Mercedes' parts bin is just as small as BMW. There's switches in there I've seen in a 2009 S Class.

Has it got a heated steering wheel?
I don’t like the shape of it, particularly from the rear, it’s pear shaped. Also, I much preferred the circular air vents, otherwise it’s interior is pretty nice.
I know I’ve asked about this before, but why isn’t the GLE’s E-Active Body Control suspension offered on UK-spec GLEs and us Brits instead have to make do with normal air suspension?
I mean, come on, Mercedes! How hard could it possibly be to offer this revolutionary EABC suspension in Britain?
Is this a private test track or do you close the roads for tests/reviews?

No way they should ever put a 2.0 4cyl engine in a yacht like this! 3.0 minimum.
For everday usage is perfect
Power is enough but refinement is not very spot on.

2 litre would be fine. You will most likely find this car in the city, stuck in traffic and not in the country on grounded pavements. For city everyday use? Its spot on.

I wish car manufacturers would stop adding fake bits and pieces to their vehicles. Having said that the GLE is just a great all rounder and the tech is just awesome.

True, I work in Audi Brussels working as a mechanic on the new E-Tron’s and QC on the paintjob should be spotted immediatly. Because the paintjob comes right after the production of the chassis. After the paintjob it hits the assembly production ligns , where there are loads of checkpoints for QC. (Sorry for bad english)
It is not manufactured in europe.

I love the reviewer then this Gle 😂
The seats in this look so incredibly plain compared to the Merino seats in the new X5. Also, hard plastics on the bottom door panels are a ghastly sight on such an expensive vehicle.
It is not a bad car, but next to new X5 , this thing just don't make any sence buying.
I'm also M-class years old. It's the exact time when emblems were actually emblems and not just stickers...
Really not been liking Mercedes designs recently. Hate the rear of this one.

Got rid of my GLE, nothing but problems.
Not as sharp as a BMW! No of course not, its not trying to be.
Why cant reviewers just accept that Merc is more comfort then sporty.
Just a general thing that i find annoying in many videos. Not a specific thing against Carbuyer.
Sorry the dash looks like someone has stuck a load of ipads on top, no real effort made to make them look part of the car... such an after thought given the cost of the car

You don't have to put aside the G-Class to say "this was Mercedes first lifestyle SUV" because the GLE or ML was supposed to be the G Class replacement so basically they are one and the same in the beginning

Well, this design seems mish mash... nothing cohesive. Definitely not the best thing but certainly not the worst. Those oblong vents are absolutely hideous IMO, and downsizing just continues to threaten the motoring industry. A 2l on this humongous thing? WTF!

Agree on the front it looks strange, it doesn't really match the rest of the car, looks a bit awkward, that paintwork is shocking though
It's just a very bad looking car. The head lights and tail lights are all wrong, the body lines are soft where they should be sharp. The design is really clumsy. It's a shame because the interior is beautiful.

Truely find Mercedes exteriors to be getting more and more unattractive and exaggerated in design. Interior is gorgeous. Just wished there exterior looked less cartoony
It's not the paint job, it's marring (scratches) from bad carwash process. Called holograms ;)
No this car had a lot of orange peel its preety common in recent mercedes, every press car will have marring and swirls, she was talking about the orange peel
From original ML to this...my goodness. Bling enough? The only fitting people driving this are second tier footballers and rather rich n^ggas from central London or South Central.
