    I loved the 6.5PRC series so much and learned a few new things.Thank you Matt! Greeting from Germany

    I suggest you watch the video and pay attention to your bipod and what the bench deck boards do to bump and twist your rifle. I suspect your ammunition is shooting just a little bit better than your current shooting situation allows. Maybe try shooting prone at least for a comparison group to see? Thanks for taking the time to make the videos.

    When you have low ES & SD and big groups you should adjust your Seating Depth .Dont mess with Powder Charge..A Tuner will help also.Good Video. I Really Enjoyed it.

      Absolutely! As I said at the end of the video, that is the next step in this load development.

    Thanks for this vid Matt. You ever tried shooting your groups “round robin” to reduce effects of barrel temp, wind, etc?

    • @mattsreloadingbench
      @mattsreloadingbench  Před rokem

      I have. But I get similar results. In between groups, I run a barrel cooler for a few minutes. It keeps everything pretty consistent.

    Dude, I got that exact pew-pew. I love it. I think Berger got the 156gr out. All I can find lately is Hornady 147gr though. It's fine I guess.

      I love this rifle. Still trying to find tighter groups. I am happy with the 153gr A-Tips, but I think I should be able to get better groups. More to come moving forward.

    Get a good rest, hard to shoot off a bi pod for accuracy , and try moving 3-4 gr. at a time till you find a good node. Then work on seating depths, till you find what it likes. My Bergara shoots large one hole groups at 100

      I've already taken care of that. There will be videos coming out in the future.

      I am using the Federal 210. Which is the standard large rifle primer that is offered by Federal.

    Any plans to try a 147 ELD Match bullet rather than those Atips?

    • @mattsreloadingbench
      @mattsreloadingbench  Před 2 lety

      Yes. I intend on doing that. But right now, I am still tinkering with this bullet. I have hundreds of the 147's and fully intend on doing a load development series with them!

      You are correct! At the time I shot this video, it is what I had available.

  • @bruce6099

    Try seating shorter in 10 thou increments ( 5 thou would be better though) for a total of 50 thousandths shorter than what you were loaded to in this test. Something should stand out in that test, and if you need to you can then tweak seating depth around your best result.
    Good luck!

    Hi, I recently got my 6.5 prc and want to load the same components as you, bur I noticed on hodgdon’s website that the max load for that combination is 55.0gr…..

    I see an NRA placard on the post next to your bench, where is your eye protection? Low SD and Low SD does' not mean good groups. What will those groups look like at 600 yards?

    @jonlennon3348 Před rokem

    Why do you shoot off a bipod to check accuracy. Try it without the sling swivel stud off a real front rest to prove out its true accuracy potential.

    • @mattsreloadingbench
      @mattsreloadingbench  Před rokem +1

      Because I am testing accuracy while using what the rifle will be equipped with. I am aware that I can get better groups with a bench rest setup, but I do not shoot bench rest. I want my rifle to be mobile if need be.

    The rifle kicks to the left every shot. Square up your shoulders a little more.

  • @ShutUpAndListenYouIdiot

    It’s worthless to worry about SD on small batches like your shooting. Thanks for the video though.
