18 months ago, I weighed 229 lbs. I was 69 years old at the time. A Doctor tried to convince me; I had bladder cancer. I found out that I didn't but It did make me change my lifestyle. I lost 81 lbs. One thing that made it easier, I noticed that it didn't matter where I went, Wal Mart, Target, wherever, I looked the store isles and noticed that wow, obese people everywhere. No one wants to do what needs to be done for a great body, they are under the impression that someone makes a pill or a shake or something that they can take before bed and wake up looking buff. If it was easy everybody would be buff. We live in a society where no one wants to put any effort into anything. I'll be 71 in August, and I swore to myself I'll get my 6 pack abs back. Still working on it and it's not easy. Just remember if it's easy it probably won't show much worth.

I was a personal trainer for a few years, and have taken care of myself since the age of 16. I hate when fat people make excuses and tell me that not everyone can be "naturally fit" like me. I've worked on it for 23 years and they just discredit that because THEY suck.

Fat shaming is inappropriate and a child's tool used by narcissists...
Sadly these ppl are asleep to the traumas they haven't healed and their "food addiction" shows all the time, unlike the other addictions ppl use to cope with life and feel better and can hide easier. Your "fat shaming"would NOT help change ANYTHING for the better, except show you and those who think and act like you to be a grown up insensitive jerk narcissists that should experience appropriate discipline.
Yes, extreme obesity does turn my stomach IF I would ever consider them naked or as bed mates, but I don't troll every person I see and grade them on physical or sexual attraction. I do not have to exercise my right to free speech to shame anyone.... except I do choose to use it on perpetrators of abusive behaviors. Your suggestion is abusive and not constructive in the least.
Call them out on what is true IF they actually say its natural to you. You worked at it, its a lifestyle choice and commitment anyone that really cares about their own health will invest in themselves.
Obesity is a form of dissociation. They don't love themselves, they've probably go repressed trauma the likes of which would destroy someone as shallow as you.. For you to be rude and consider shaming like that? Pure schoolyard bully behavior. I hope you grow up to find compassion in your words to others in the future. Your decisions and behaviors are writing checks here that your soul is gonna cash in with karma for all your actions words and deeds.... In this life, or the next.

      @ethanwhitehead2085 Před 11 měsíci +4

@@cattysplat It is less evolution and more of a matter of fashion. Rich, influential, powerful, etc. people want to differentiate themselves from the rest of society, so they adopt whatever lifestyle and glamours that normal people cannot afford via time and money.
This is why being fat and pale and wearing an obviously false wig was considered attractive not even a millennia ago, as the common people had to work outside (get tanned skin), do manual labor on less food (become muscular and thin), and couldn't afford their "custom" yet identical white haired wig or whatever crap is considered fashionable of the day, while today being slim and tanned is "the standard" because the common person spends most of their time indoors performing a sedentary job and is subsisting off of predominately unhealthy food.
Basically being fat today will always be unattractive until the majority of people no longer are and those higher in society seek to distinguish themselves by being fat, or through ways that result in them being fat.

Someone who actually believes it's okay to be overweight (I do, even if I'm not) wouldn't complain. They'd be comfortable with how they are, regardless of whether they're praised or not. Complainers simply don't want to face their own insecurity about their body, and so try to push everyone else to tip-toe around it. If you deal with your insecurities, you neither need to change, nor advocate for the standards to change. Be like Bill, accept that you're not the sexiest being on the planet, work enough to not be the ugliest, and be fine with it, because you're so much more than your superficial attractiveness - unless external affirmation is how you measure your whole value as a person, but hey, that's on you. No one beyond your mother will love you unconditionally, and the sooner you realize that, the sooner you can start working on actually loving yourself.

You only have to be out in a public place somewhere and see someone who is slim, fit looking and very attractive. You can guarantee that heads will be turning to check that person out, even to the point of gawping.
That is what really bothers the less attractive people, because they know they will never be gazed at in that way, no matter how much they try and kid themselves!

Personally, I think/suspect what people everywhere are most basically attracted to (visually) is simply "healthiness". Beautiful eyes, good hair, hot bodies etc, helps to give that impression, which is also evidence of a healthy, balanced, and potentially successful person. Personality, actual success and wealth, etc, then adds further to it (though apparently more for men than women.)
But, in a nutshell, the healthier you are and look, the more attractive you will most likely generally be to most people.
I remember how anorexic/bulimic supermodels were an issue in 90s, and how the fashion industry was perverting young girls into thinking being skeletally thin is somehow "beautiful". There was an outcry because the majority of society (rightly) perceived it as "unhealthy". Because it is/was.
I personally don't really care whether people are "a bit" plump or thin. Especially when its suites their body types. I think they can be super attractive either way. BUT, I do care when it comes to promoting outright obesity or anorexia as a new standard of "beautiful" in fashion, and therefore by extension, all media and society. Because it very clearly signifies "unhealthiness", which (logically) shouldn't be promoted. And it does unfortunately have influence, especially amongst the youth.
Lastly, I just want to point what is perhaps an obvious culprit beneath it all. Never mind wokeism and culture politics, etc. What about the fashion industry itself? To me it's an obvious den of vice, and has been for decades or more. And one that somehow manages to evade scrutiny (as an institution) in this day and age, even though it's been responsible for countless crimes to people, animals, and the environment, and has an obvious huge (and worrying) influence on the youth.

Lookism is why black people get longer jail sentences. Not racism. People gravitate toward attraction to their own ethnic group because of exposure and other ethnic groups look less attractive generally to that person for the same reason. So when you have a minority population, they will get harsher sentences because of being unattractive. I guess you can call it Primary vs Secondary racism, in being that lookism is just racism one step removed for this issue, but the truth is that all sentencing in a "colorblind" society will disfavor minorities purely out of lookism.

I realized early I'm not that level of exceptional but if I work at I'm damn near the top, same stuff with hollywooding or wanting to be famous - don't need it in my life to be happy. When your an ugly guy, you don't get laid early in life so it motivates you to compensate, but those type of guys always lose when the genetically superior guy walks in the room. The women will just want the ugly guy for his money and sleep with the hot guy for his seed lmao

How does that even make sense in the modern US? The reply here must be a troll. What kind of practical joke or racist power play are you making upon the universe by marrying a black person in the US, while still being racist against black people in 2023?
This is just more retarded implicit bias, inherent racism, whatever propaganda. It is used to convince everyone that they are inherently racist due to their genetics, and a select few (with the correct skin color) are immune from being racist for the same exact reason. Using shit straight from the Nazi playbook, while still they like to pretend they think that the methods the Nazi's used were bad.
edit: There are people that are salivating at the very prospect of eliminating their political opponents in the US as a "final solution" in every sense that it was used previously. They are serious and they would do it if they could. I am glad to live in a country where their murderous dreams are still not yet possible, despite the flaws in our political system.

I scuba dive, snorkel and love to get outside and sweat (not that hard in South Florida), being older I've paid some of the price of a unhealthy lifestyle and had to make those lifestyle changes, now I look back and really wished I could of ate a better diet.
