  • Learn how you can fix issues with Asus cannot find a hard drive, hard drive not detected errors, no hard drive found, or the hard drive is not installed.
The video will show you what may cause the issue and a number of different solutions you may try to solve. For example, if you have recently replaced a hard drive then there is a possibility that the connector is properly connected, or if you drop your laptop then it could be misplaced.
Another thing that may cause the Asus laptop not to recognize the hard drive is the Windows software configuration. So you may want to go into Windows and assign a drive letter to it, if the problem is identified as a software issue.

You, Sir, are a legend. Been trying to get my brother's laptop to boot with no success. Changed the CMOS battery, reseated the HDD, no changes. Changed from UEFI to Legacy. Booted straight up. Thanks, I finally know it's not the hard drive!

    Hello !!
How are you doing DIY Fix¡?
I have an ASUS VivoBook Max, model: X441BA-CBA6A, I am upgrading the HDD to the SSD, the solid state drive is SATA 3, UP Gamer brand, normal 2.5", new in box, which is recognized in any other Notebook or any desktop PC. / When connecting to the Notebook X441BA, it does not recognize it in any way,
I already changed the Secure Boot to: disable
and also enabled the CSM to: enable,
    date and time: correct.
Following the tutorials on your page but it still does not recognize , the version of the bios is the latest, version 308. It only recognizes normal mechanical hard drives but not solid state drives!! What else COULD I do, so that the motherboard recognizes the SSD? ... Grateful in advance ! … A cordial greeting to all !
