  • From my Jodhpur guesthouse I roam the streets and lanes on my way to visit the great fort.
On my way I buy some popcorn from a street cart, play a game of cricket with some children, then climb many stairs and a hill to reach the fort.
I chat with a man riding a camel and ask how comfortable it is and whether he could see himself for long periods riding through the desert.
A group of Indian tourists chat with me as we make our way toward Jodhpur’s fort and some friendly ribbing ensued in regard to Australia beating India in the world cup of cricket.
My GoPro froze without me realizing and I lost a lot of my footage for the day including the inside of the fort. I didn’t realize my mistake of checking its recording light while using it until on my way back to town. I was somewhat disappointed to say the least.
We see a man in Indian ceremonial dress with sword, and I get a beard trim before a man invites me into his business to share his food prepared for him by his family.
I buy an orange juice from a small shop before trying to find my way back to my guesthouse.
It was a great wander around the streets of Jodhpur meeting many interesting people and seeing many interesting things.

That random home food really made up for the bad day with lost footage. He is so right about good karma. You got privilege to try a home cooked food that you would otherwise have missed. That is because of your being open mindedness. I live in NZ and had a few Aussie colleagues and bosses. They never tried my lunch. Phew, thought you’d been robbed. Man, I’m well travelled in India and as soon as you said “they’re only kids” I laughed out loud. Those little tykes live, breathe and dream cricket 24/7 & they’re more….religious about it compared to us Poms & Aussies. Bit like the Brazilians and football/soccer. Also…I’m 55 and, incidentally, I too have an awesome beard not unlike yours-don’t procrastinate on the Himalayas brother. They’re inbloodycredible and as far as the mountain trekking goes you can ease yourself in. I’m not exactly trim n toned & I’ve three stents in me ticker- I shoot round the mountains like a backpacking student on a gap year regularly. It’s just that the ‘hikes’ tend to be frequent, short and interspersed with regular chai breaks. I thoroughly recommend the Parvati Valley for the amazing and beautiful Pahari people, village to village walks, hot springs, great food, breathtaking views and legendary organic herbal stress relief. Anyway, I’m rambling..I’ve been boring the tits off people re; budget travel in India for years😂 Loving your vlogs man, great delivery, don’t change for anything except filthy cash. Happy travels. 🙏
