Street food paradise. Udaipur, India.

  • I spend the morning sampling the street food delights of Udaipur, India, where I'm introduced to flavors I've not come across before.
At two different street food stands I try a local breakfast-type dish called Dhokla which is a spounge cake topped with a subtle spicey sauce, and Poha a favorite soft sweet and sour rice plate.
I also meet a man who helps me push a cart of heavy cement for a worker then invites me to his place and explains his battle with depression and how he managed to come through his experience.
A group of young travelers and a family from Mumbai welcome me into their groups to enjoy this amazing local food.
I'm constantly greeted by friendly Indian people who make me believe India may be the most welcoming country I've ever travelled.
There's a genuine sincerity I experience when meeting locals where I get the distinct impression people from Rajasthan are some of the most hospitable people in the world.
Another great travel experience in India.

Wayne cant believe your dream run with such genuine folks around in the streets after such a disastrous start in Delhi. Hope this just continues...
Hence really suggest people not to land in tourist traps like Delhi and experience the worst face of India but fly in to Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai or Kochi and then move north.
Then you start with a more genuine face of India and get accustomed to all the quirks by the time you hit the golden triangle..

In India when someone's saying it's not spicy that means it has spices but dominated by sweet or sour ingredients, but there will be always spices. Spicy means two tastes in India- one is mix of spices(Masala) and another is spiciness comes out from chillies and peppers. So request the vendor not to add chillies. Even white people can't even tolerate the tiny heat from Masalas😅.
