India first day. I FORGOT MY PASSPORT!

- My first day in India didn't have the perfect start as I left my passport at an Airtel counter with a security guard not letting me back into the airport terminal to get it. There was also a confused and frustrated taxi driver waiting for me.
Once I arrived in Paharnganj I was told the room I'd booked wasn't available as the hotel was fully booked. I then spent an hour and a half walking around looking for another one.
We also walk around the congested tourist centre of Paharnganj and I get my palm read by a spiritual guru who tells me I'm romantic, going to be successful, like water, and something about Venus and Jupiter.
It was then time for a nice fried rice for lunch before wandering the lanes and back alleys some more.
Heart stopping moment when you realize you dont have your passport, or wallet even worse. Good job Wayne. The adventure continues.
It would have been a bit inconvenient to replace it, that's for sure.
I don't blame you but foreigners judge India by visiting only a few streets of Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, etc.😂...Visit South, visit far north, visit Andaman and Lakshadweep islands, visit Northeast India. These are the places you can clear the misconception about what the India actually is.
I agree there are certain misconceptions about India with much more that can be revealed by exploring further. I'm not sure if I can do the idea justice, but will try.
@@fiascodagama1 Alright..Best wishes sir! Enjoy your stay. ❤️ From Assam, Northeast India. Right now in Nagaland, Northeast India, India's one of the mega festivals called "Hornbill Festival" is going on till 10th of December. If you have some time then you can visit here. I'm sure this land will surprise you very much.
@@sedimelo7660bro got my respect 👍

Wayne, good to see you embrace India in the right spirit. Tourists come from other countries that are a definite place living at a definite time. In contrast, India is several dozen countries and multiple centuries that comes at you in a single package. Your experience as a traveler to India depends on how patiently you do this unpacking while not getting overwhelmed by the outer wrappers.
Awesome story telling and narrating, good job, I'm enjoying the adventure!
Thanks for coming along, RareP, It means a lot! Hope all's well back there.
Welcome to India! 🇮🇳 Absolutely thrilled to see you exploring this incredible country with its rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning architecture. Did you know that India is home to one of the world's oldest civilizations, boasting ancient industries and a society that was once among the wealthiest? Don't forget to dive into the fascinating history, from the majestic ancient temples to the impact of foreign invasions. Can't wait to see your perspective on the diverse tapestry of India's past and present! 🌍 #IncredibleIndia
What a lovely welcome, thank you. You should be writing for the tourist industry of India! You write very well.

I understand what you're saying but it seemed convenient and a gritty place to start.
Amezing video sir....hope you enjoying trip..
Having a great time, Lomasslive, thanks. Really appreciate you taking the time to stop by and say hello.
Since you're a new blogger, I would love to see you interacting with locals which creates humor, plus trying local food once at least per video, plus shopping things like clothes shoes etc.. best wishes man.
Really appreciate the feedback, henri. I think your episode format has a lot of merrit and is something I will look closely at - particularly more local interaction. Thanks again!
Your channel will grow coz you have a good retention of people
That would be nice, I hope you're right. :)
You’ve got a great sense of humour sir! ❤ from 🇮🇳
Thanks stewie. I'm glad someone else shares it with me. Cheers.
India from what I've heard you either love it or hate it ,no in-between
It seems it's a bit like that, pauld.

Good wishes from Multani Indians, #multaniindians, Nice vlog. You seem to be a real India explorer. India is a diverse country. More you see more you want to.
I agree, rajeev. Traveling here is addictive. Thanks for saying hello and the welcome.
Wishing you all the best 👍
Thanks, Neeraj. I appreciate it.
Oh my, we lost world cup from Australia just now. You will get that a lot here.
Happy Travel ❤
Binge watching ur Nepal series rn. 👍
Hi silentclimber. I have a lot of fun with Indian cricket fans about the world cup. They remind of their T20 win against us just the other day. Thanks for saying hi.
you should visit places like manali , kashmir , ladakh in north india , if you want to experience beauty of snow clapped mountains and if you want to go to south india then you should explore kerela for sure .It has nice beaches , waterfalls , green mountains and lots of peace.
Thanks for taking the time to make some suggestions.
When travelling to India, as you said, you have to have a big bag of patience with you, though just a few bills (dollars, euro, pound). When Indian travelling to these dollar, euro, pound countries, they have to have their life savings with them.
I agree it's somewhat unfair. Perhaps governments should have tourist exchange programs. :)
Also if you want to enjoy beaches like Indonesia here in india you should visit andman and nicobar island
I do like nice beaches and would like to visit Andaman and Nicobar islands if I get the chance. Thank you for the recommendation.
Your interaction with the palm reader was funny.
He was a funny guy, I thought.
@@fiascodagama1your manner of asking questions to him reminded me on David Letterman.
Come visit uttarakhand dehradun you will love it north india❤every state have its different vibes ..you can visit rishikesh as well home of yoga ..with lot of foreginers and do visit rahpur road in dehradun
I hope to get there. hanks.
Avoid old Delhi region. Stay in new Delhi. Old is all chaos
I have to admit I enjoy a little disorder occasionally.
U should visit ladakh Leh kashmir Shimla Manali Rishikesh udaipur Jaisalmer pushkar Goa Kerala Bangalore hampi meghalaya Darjeeling Sikkim Andaman and Nicobar islands in India
Great places you mention. I hope to see some of them.
Welcome to India visit northeast india too

The Ganges is certainly one of the great rivers of the world and I would be very keen to see it on this trip. Thanks again for your advice.
Your venus is very good got me mate.
It's important to have a good Venus.
Welcome to India ❤❤❤
Will you visit Kolkata, Sundarban,Doors, Darjeeling, Sikkim
Thanks for the welcome and suggestions
India is huge it's mini world u।need life time to visit all
It covers so much culturally and geographically it sure would take a lot of time to see and understand.
Take care of your venus .. It is going to bring you lot of happiness. 😁
Absolutely, otherwise you may find yourself with venus envy..
One advice to all the foreigners, please avoid staying in Pahar Ganj area of Old Delhi. I know you get budget hotels over there but it's the shittiest place to stay in whole of Delhi.
I don't mind it. it's a different experience when you've lived in a sterile environment like some western cities.
You should stay in new aruna nagar
Majnu ka tilla
A tibetan colony
Many places to see. Thanks.
I first went overland UK to Goa, we gradually became accustomed to the asian madness on our way. We would see people in Mumbai who had arrived by plane and were culture shocked and like that women you met were leaving ASP
I would've loved to have come overland to India in the sixties or seventies, that must have been a special time to travel.
You are cute. India has two pictures : Hi-tech and traditional. Coming to Mumbai ?
It's been a long time since I've been called cute. :) Mumbai is certainly a city I'd like to see.
@@fiascodagama1 😊 Welcome sir. If you are interested in trekking & hiking we can go in the mountains of Shayadri range. My native is Assam, NE India.
I'm sorry whatever happened to you in the hotel. There are some bad people who just wanted your money so call the police if you have any problem.
How old is this video? Its winter in Delhi.
Uploaded the day after it was made.
Personally I would advise you to avoid places like Paharganj in Delhi .
It's a pretty gritty environment and a little rough around the edges, that's for sure.
About the passport 1:13
Hopefully this dumb Aussie will take more care next time.
@@fiascodagama1 all these mishaps makes the trip more memorable 😂😂
See, atleast the 2nd guy @ the airport let him in, had this been some other country, things would've been different
I think you're right. There will always be someone willing to help.
Isn't the pollution rather high now?
I'm not sure what to compare it to, but I do have a small cough.
Don't forget to explore places in South of INDIA , Visit Chennai, Tirupati, Kanyakumari, Udipi , Bangalore, Arunachalam, Lord SHIVA temples in all over INDIA ❤
Thank you again, mano.

WHY FOREIGNERS INVARIABLY LAND UP IN PAHARGANJ? WHO ARE ADVISING THEM TO GO THERE? NOT A VERY SAFE AND GOOD PLACE TO LIVE IN DELHI FOR SURE !!!!
I like gritty chaotic places and I have to say I didn't feel unsafe.
I am sure you do get it back
Or you are capricorn asc
I got it back. pretty foolish to leave it in the first place.

Wonderful recommendations! Thank you so much for going to the effort of providing such a detailed list.
Avoid Street food.
And scammers.
I'll try avoiding scammers, it will be harder to avoid street food.
kindly don't play that crazy music in your video.
Sorry you don't like the music.
@@fiascodagama1 True, while I enjoy watching you wander the streets and talk about your observations
Suddenly, annoying music plays, causing many clips to skip
Therefore, I hope that you delete this annoying music or replace it with another music
Maybe not put South Sudan in the hat?
I'd agree to leave it out.
You seem to be smart like any other Aussies. why 'dumb Aussie'? while in India, you should consider covering ancient sites, and there are so many. Prefer ola/uber, wherever you can.
I just thought leaving your passport at an Airtel counter on your first day in India was a pretty dumb thing to do. :) Ill look forward to seeing some ancient sites like Hampi etc. Good tip on the ola/uber thing. Cheers.
Though we have good accommodation at fair price places these people will go to cheapest of the places to stay ,eat and try to highlight how dirty ,crowded the streets are and unhygienic the food is. Most foreigners will focus on negative aspect of India and make vdo on it.We as indians will also never eat and stay at places where these fellows stay and eat.yuck...!!!
I don't agree with you, I'm not trying to highlight anything! I'm a budget traveler staying and eating in budget places all over the world. I'm sorry you're not happy with aspects of my video, but please don't make assumptions about me and what my motivations might be. Thanks.
Must say you Whites land up in places we Indians dont think as an ideal place like Pahargunj or the slums of Dharavi a Westerner's delight! The Whites have never seen poverty or experienced such plight during WW-II or Ukraine. Still its good that at least it brings happiness to the Richie-Rich.
If people are happy doing what they want to do...live and let live and all that. Have a great day and thanks for dropping by.
Bro why are you so salty?
Let them travel where they want to thay have a free life and choice unlike you!
Paharganj and parts of Old Delhi are not pleasant places to be in. This foreign traveler should explore posh areas of Delhi that are foreigner-friendly. Khan Market, Dilli Haat, Delhi Emporium, Kartavya Path, India Gate, National War Memorial, Prime Minister Museum, Cannaught Place, Lodhi Garden, CentreMarket in Lajpat Nagar, Amar Colony, Waste to Wonder, Chandni Chowk etc. are some of the places that this Aussie 🦘 can explore.
I appreciate you going to the trouble of highlighting options and making some suggestions for what might interest travelers. Thanks.
