Good introduction to sports betting. I teach a full semester course to undergraduates on sports betting at East Carolina University. It is a fascinating topic and deep topic with a lot to talk about.

I tried so hard to explain to my dad if you win your bet you get you wager amount back (breaking even) plus whatever your winnings are depending on the odds of your bet. Betting on fanduel and draftkings is pretty straight forward.

Bets are based on 100 dollars, so -120 means you would have to bet 120 dollars to win 100 dollars 😂 +120 means you would win a120 dollars on a 100 dollar bet😅

Okay so last Tuesday I betted on the Edmonton oilers to win against the Montreal Canadians game ended in OT with Edmonton won, I placed a $10 bet got $12.70 for my winnings, would I have gotten more if I dropped more the $10?

Degenerates can't do this full time unless they sell picks or start with a $50k plus bankroll and they either own their OWN home or have very little expenses 👍
......the only other way is they sell picks and bet on games *but their not living off of their wins lol, their living off of their picks sales*

Something about Iowa having very strict verification laws. It's all bs but whatever

Next nba season ill be working on my strategies for player props because ive learned some interesting stuff this season 😌
It'll take me two or three years to get it down but it'll be a package Ill offer in the future.
2023 will be me further understanding/verifying my edge on nba player props, Nfl preseason teasers, my simple 2nd half NFL teaser strategy, & nba race to 50 pts ALL that on top of the picks i sell my client friends is gonna be a busy year 👊
For those who want to learn more, I recommend the book "The Logic of Sports Betting" by Ed Miller and Matthew Davidow.
Books sucks im going to create a better one need more funding and a few more years.
Parlays have upside, but higher risk. I tend to use lower bet sizings when I do parlays and I usually "expect to lose". The biggest parlay I have hit so far was a 6 team MLB moneyline parlay. :) I"m about a month or so into this. Thanks for the info guys even though I have already learned as I go and reddit pages... Also I think "the more confident you are" about an outcome the more you should increase your bet by a little bet (yet still be within bankroll management and responsible gaming) What do you think?
I always take the over on all Colorado Rockies home games. Eazy money. Today I made 140.00. over under was 11.5. total runs were 15.

I just started betting 2 weeks ago. I have place 10 bets so far and have only 1 won bet. I didn't understand the -/+. I have been playing the + more because I thought that was the favorite. I feel so stupid, but it is a learning experience.

Ive been working on and battle testing strategies to help people like yourself, not my best stuff but my second best stuff but it will still be better than anything out there when its done ✔
Anyways focus on betting 1-3% of your bankroll, do yoir best to find and bet on yoir best game, understand its okay to wait for a game, dont chase losses, and don't fucking martingale lol.
I would suggest you spend 4000 hours teaching yourself how to bet ingame *live betting* ⬅️ overtime you will develop your own edges, make plenty of mistakes, & lose several bankrolls ALL in the name of learning and getting better 😊
I’ve won 5k in the past 2 months off only losing bets combined of $400 it’s a win or lose or knowledge game to me.
The plus means the underdog, but if you bet on the underdog it offers a bigger payout

I have a question, what is the point in betting on the favourite if you lose money even if the bet wins? Is there any benefit?
You don't lose money if the bet wins. In this example, you would put up $120 to win $100 if the -120 team wins. This means you get back the $120 you put up plus the $100 in winnings. You get a total of $220 back. If the favorite loses, then you lose the $120 you put up.

Parlay bets are also referred to as “sucker bets.” I’m not saying that’s how I see them but a lot of pro gamblers see them that way.
