I just took a trip from Northern Michigan to Nashville, Tennessee and did not get one Blindspot monitoring false alarm. The new update is insanely good.
Thanks for the great video I updated my max 360 c mk2 a few days ago and have not had any false alerts yet and the response on real police seem to be working great as well.

Right. This is the best detector I have ever had and had over 30 of these over the years. Since the original Escort/passport
MaxCam not getting these updates? Seems like it should, I thought it ran off Redline components for the RD side. Strange. Maybe it takes longer to develop the update given they have to integrate it with the software for the dashcam too.
Ka sensitivity preliminary testing for me shows it’s better than the R8. Especially on 35.5.

@@j.ballsdeep420 better meaning it alerts at noticeably longer ranges. I am in the middle of controlled testing right now and the early results looks like this was a good update for Ka range increase.
Escort is doing great on catching up and fixing bugs, unlike Radenso who promised updates and upgrades monthly, the last update I had for my DS1 was back in October. I'll keep an eye on Escort and V1G2 if Radenso don't get on top of their game, thanks for the info Vortex.
They had one update for the GT-360 that didn’t fix all the problems and forgot about it like a red headed stepchild. And thank ‘G’ for the extended warranty, they fixed it twice.

Great information 🤟 couple request do a red barn test with a V1Gen2 and uniden R8, after that a do a instant on test for K and Ka to see with the latest firmware from both detectors to see which is faster and more responsive.

Thanks! I’ve been on the fence between Escort or Uniden. I have a 2019 BMW X5 with gesture control, was told the Uniden R7 or R8 would be only radar detectors that would filter that out and work properly? Are those (R7/R8) my only choices?

IMO. The Redline360C has had so many issues! Escort needs to, or should just leave it as is now or discontinue this model...
Go back to the drawing board, fix evvvvvvverything, release a "Redline ULTRA" or something, giving the people not only what we all want, but what we all need!
They have really lost alot of brand loyal customers over the last couple of years!

Do you have a list of your preferred settings for the Redline 360C that you use.? There are so many options it can be confusing and I don’t want to turn something on or off that I shouldn’t.

I'm glad to see these improvements for the Redline 360C, but before I start buying some, I think I going to wait until they fix the KA band detection. I still don't like how they release these half baked products.
The problem with CAS rejection (BSM) is that the problem starts when there is a lot of traffic, multi lanes and a couple of cars that are transmitting frequency modulated close to police radar frequencies. On normal roads almost no falses, sometime new Toyota's , US made Fords and BMW on Gatso RT4. I doubt Escort has fixed that issue, it is a matter of antenna design and available processing power. But anything acceptable and improvement is welcome 👌👌
Cobra rad480i they did well with as well. Now the app (I-radar) is doing well with the device.
Excluding the arrows, which detector has better performance and filtering, the R7 or R4? Looking for the best detector between 400-500 price range and don't care much about the arrows. Probably because Ive never had a detector with arrows and not sure how much people love that feature. Thanks!

Got the update for my Redline 360c the other day. It took over 60 mins. by Wifi (and my router is plenty fast). Dove a couple of round-trips from CT to MA this weekend. K band seemed plenty chatty still. Otherwise, didn't run into any good tests.
Question I have a 2010 Camaro SS and I want a hardwired laser jammer/ radar detection. You did reviews on two top of the line units just having a brain fart on which two they were. I’m in Arizona and most LEO are using LiDAR

Your GoPro died for the Max 360C MK2 test. but then you shared other people’s testing on redline (not Max 360c mk2). Any updates on the Max 360C Mk2? WiFi & Decatur genius delay?? (Your original review mentioned these issues).

I made the mistake of not buying the max, but the 9500 from escort. Since I purchased it, there have been no updates available for it, 'live' doesn't even see that I have a red light/speed trap/GPS detector connected when trying to update the software/firmware. After spending $500 for this unit (and the extended warranty), having spent hours going through the filter settings to get rid of the collision radar false alerts, I finally just shut off all x and k and am relying on it to detect Ka only . Glad to see I was screwed over in that regard for the past few years, as I didn't realize that the response was so delayed, thankfully I have been lucky. Walking away from cincinnati microwave. There are clearly other products that are supporting their customers more. Playing catsup isn't my game of choice. Yes, catsup (hunts, not heinz).
When will you get a chance to do some in depth testing? Currently running two R7's and am super anxious to see some comparisons. thanks for al you do!!
Do you mean with range? No immediate plans for long range testing at the moment. Maybe at some point this summer, but I dunno. Hopefully some others will do some testing too. The key changes here are the responsiveness and BSM filtering changes so that’s what I tested and focused on in this video.
@@VortexRadar I'm not even sure what I mean exactly. I'm just waiting to have my hand held in all honesty and for you to release a video that says "time to dump the R7 and buy a RL360c". I'm a set it and forget it type, so while I do peruse RDForum, most of it is over my head and I just want the easiest possible setup with the best BSM and GPS memory that actually works reliably (the R7 is hit or miss). I' don't like the looks of the R8 compared to the R7, so thats not an upgrade I'm interested in. I think there are tons of us out there that just wait on what you say to buy and then we react. I live in MA, for what it's worth.
No maxcam 360c update? After the last firmware it will go asleep sometimes. Plus it shares many of the same components and os coding as these that get an update, so confused by this lack of an update

Have you worked out how to get this V1.11/V1.6 update here in NZ yet? For me detector tools pro , latest version, says the older v1.10/v.1.5 firmware is the latest firmware available for my R360c International.
@utubeuser2006 I had no problem updating around the time of my above post. I used the PC software. I couldn't be happier with this radar detector now, so I hope you find a solution.
@@beenflying1 While the escort software told me yesterday the latest version was the older 1.10/1.5, I can now see that somehow it did update me to the latest 1.11/v1.6, so I'm all good. Thanks for your help as your reply made me go check the version in the unit!

After watching so many of your videos you've posted over the last year I just purchased a 360 C MKII and I'll be putting a good 8 hours of highway driving and probably 2 hours of country/town driving over Mothers Day weekend so I'm hoping these updates do in fact help. I know in one of your older videos from a few months ago Escort said their updates would fix ___ problems but in fact they haven't been fixed yet. Anyway it's a great upgrade from my 9500 so I'm looking forward to all the bells and whistles.

My Redline 360 C still reports air patrol over the speaker when Air patrol is turend off.

I felt awkward asking and honestly am kinda surprised they said yes, lol. Thinking about it afterwards some more, it's radar so the test should still work even without direct line of sight detection.
True, though I imagine a giant metal truck would interfere with the radar response somewhat, reflections and whatnot.
For sure... and without being able to see what's going on with the detector to verify one way or another, it seemed pretty questionable.
Did the full blast k band ever get fixed?
My BSM alerts have definitely gone down since I did the update Monday.
FYI - MRCD/MRCT shown on display as Mt/Md was in previous update.

What do you know about the UK mobile vans as I have the 360c for about 18 months now and have yet to see it show any alerts for these, thinking of changing to a Uniden to see if its any better

I drive 120+miles round trip for work 5-6 days a week. County/DPS use Ka, the other county i drive through uses K band. Very rarely do any of them use stationary guns they’re almost always parked using their in-vehicle units or driving towards/away from you. I did order the 360c MKII (haven’t gotten it yet) to replace my 9500ix (which has been amazing) with so much tech now a days I’m struggling to pick a radar that will give me good K detection based off reviews alone, i guess I’ll run the 9500ix next to my MKII for a little while just to be safe, because the 9500ix has never let me down. Looking for opinions, should i keep the MKII i ordered or get something else that has better K band, what would you recommend?

Yeah do the update over USB if you can. WiFi takes 30-45 min or so instead of 2-3 min.

Don't see any difference with instant-on response time with my Escort Max 360c MK ll sucks with 1.3 firmware. Why I tried it against my Ka Kustom Signals Talon it didn't respond two out of six tries, when it did alert? Average response time was 1.53 seconds, so where is the improvement? Do wish the screen display was bigger and their firmware tool would have the ability to change user settings like Uniden.
Question. I got into my car earlier today and my uniden r8 didn’t power on. After about 5 minutes of driving it finally turned on. Only time it’s done this. The car was hot from the sun. It’s mounted under the rear view mirror so it’s not up on the windshield. Is it possible the heat did this ? Have you ever heard of this ?

With these new updates would you still say the redline 360c is still the best escort purchase over the Max 360c Mk II specifically?
It's better, yeah, but I think the Max might be a better choice for most to save the extra $$. Range should still be good and most people don't need the RDD immunity. If you do though, the Redline is the way to go.

After doing the update on my Redline 360c, it won’t connect to my iPhone though Bluetooth.
Yeah, you need to delete the detector from your phone’s list of connected Bluetooth devices and then you can repair in the app

@@KrisDC2 Same lol... I've run Escort detectors exclusively since 2012 (9500ix and Max 360) and before that a V1. I bought an R8 on Amazon right before the $50 off sale, but since Amazon won't price match, even themselves, I returned that one unopened and then bought it on sale. It got here on Friday and I just got Highway Radar up and running today so I'll test that out tomorrow. My return window for the R8 closes on June 4, and my Redline 360c from Best Buy should get here tomorrow. Time for a Battle Royal I suppose lol :D

Better how? It’s a little slower, but things like range and photo radar detection still need to be tested.

I did the update by hooking up to my Mac, which is faster, but now I can’t hook up my detector to either one of the software on my iPhone. So I can’t get my detector paired up with my car Wi-Fi, not sure what to do
Delete it from your phone’s list of connected devices and then repair it via the app

It's too late for Escort to win me back with a update, so long Escort Redline 360c and hello Uniden R8. I have been using it for 6 months with no regrets and can't wait for a (new) comparison video because i'm going to guess the Uniden R8 comes out on top.

Sorry there’s no good way to give a universal answer. I wish there was… For whom? What’s the best car for all people? Should everyone buy an Android or an iPhone? Same thing here.
These days I’m running the R8 with a beta version of the third party iOS app. It adds some extra filtering and avoids some of the delays that we’re still seeing with the Escorts even with the new firmware.
That’s just me though and as for what’s best for you, YMMV. That’s for you to decide.

I don’t know their plans for that, sorry. It’s been discontinued for a little while now though.
Are these the updates that make Escort a usable product?
Trash detectors with subscriptions required. Might as well be paying for tickets at their prices and subs over time.
They're usable now, yeah. The subscription thing, they charge for the built-in GPS database, but you can get that info from the cloud for free. They also renew people's cloud subscriptions for free automatically every year so in practice there's nothing really to pay for, especially if you have your detector connected to the cloud.
Did you actually watch the video, or did you just come here to comment? I haven't paid for subscription and have never had to. My 360 Max has been working great since 2016.

I have made comments about loving my 360c MKII over the V1 V2 and Uniden. And this just keeps getting better. I drove 45 miles today with 1 beep the whole way. No cops 2 radar speed signs that it remembered from yesterday and got a 1 beep from a Honda but went away quick.

Yep. The Max360 MkII one I guess isn’t until Escort releases newer update software, but otherwise yeah.
With the uniden r8 on sale I guess I’ll go for the R8 instead of the redline 360c still even with the firmware update.
The Escort range nomenclature has become rather confusing to dummies like me.
My redline 360c has been unusable since the last update... The falsing ka rear every 5 min continually. Hopefully this update fixes it. I've had the radar detector replaced same issue. Hopefully this firmware update fixes this. It's the biggest waste of money I've even bought so far.

IMHO I think the Uniden R8 is still to expensive, I have an R3(very happy with it), and I'll wait till it comes down in price (I still use a Beltronics RX65 in my 2nd car and its still pretty good).
