“Conflicted” is the best way to describe what I was feeling prior to this China Eastern 777-300ER business class flight from Los Angeles (LAX) to Shanghai (PVG).
Two things were on my mind: first (obviously), the developing situation with the Coronavirus in China. Second (maybe even more obvious) was the mixed reviews I’ve heard about this airline. Some have said it’s the worst ever. Others said it’s one of the best. Which is it?!
I love finding answers to these questions myself, so I didn’t hesitate for a second to step onboard this airplane. Conflicted or not…I was still very much excited to try it for myself.
This is footage from China Eastern flight number 586, which ended up being a very pleasant 14.5 hour flight. I was seated in 16A, and the aircraft registration was B-7343.

Chine Eastern Longhaul is a great product and don't know why it gets so much hats, much better than Air China

My thoughts on babies in business class? Noise cancelling headphones. 🎧 They’re the answer. In all classes. 👌

Everything people say about China Eastern Airlines is correct. It depends on the Plane/route/ Class that would sway your decision. In this case long haul flight larger plane and in Business Class one is fooled into a false sense of a decent product and a fairly good review. Try a smaller plane and a shorter route and you got yourself a really crappy review. But thanks for your efforts👍

I love China Eastern Airlines. I've flown with them twice from Toronto to Manila. And to Cebu ( Philippines. ) with the layover in Shanghai. Mind you Economy Class. But still loved it.
