Oh Dennis...no warm nuts!! The flight paths to Asia etc provide you with some of the most stunning Australian scenery and the first time you see it it's hard to fathom how big Australia is and all these magnificent outback sights! Magnificent! Looked like a most enjoyable flight DB...they are all ( Chinese carriers) so competitive in price to what we would call "major" carriers...especially in Business Class...great stuff mate and as always looking forward to your next trip where hopefully your nuts will be warm!!

I flew Xiamen Airlines from KL to Xiamen in business and it was... interesting... haha
I flew Business Class on China Eastern from Chicago to Shanghai to Singapore r/t last month and found all four legs lacking. They lacked movie/tv options. They lacked enjoyable food. They lacked a decent lounge in Shanghai. All crew lacked rudimentary English skills. I did luck out on one leg and also was on a Shanghai Airlines swap aircraft with privacy doors, although they were intentionally inoperable. While in Singapore I was impressed with how easy Delta let me join and receive mileage credit for the entire trip. Good videos Dennis. Bring your wife on more trips!
Thanks Kurt - yes definitely hope to bring her along more often. I agree re lounge in Shanghai and the entertainment system. I cover Shanghai Airport on the the A350 review which will be out in a few weeks - in editing now. On that leg the doors on the seats were working - seems inconsistent.
Me: Has no plans to fly to China or use China Eastern Airlines.

Jordan Chick I think that is the appeal of watching travel vloggers. A lot of niche channels like Dennis, Jeb Brooks, etc have natural reviews from their business trips. Kinda cool, and more genuine than someone who does it full time.

The funniest part of all your videos is when you speak about the PJ and about the blinds between seats when couples don't wish to talk to each other.
You can rise the footrest only in fact, just by pressing one of the buttons that seem to move the seat back and forward. See carefully of the button on the very left of the bottom row on the penal. Anyway, thanks for your sharing that is very helpful!

I lived in Shanghai for 5 years, and it’s very normal for lights not to be on. People like to save money and the approach to 浦东机场 (The airport you went to is covered by factories and places that closed down at that time of the day.

Flew both variants of the A330 recently, their domestic business class was superb (same seats as this one I think)
. Their long haul to Brissie was a bit dated but still very good. Always love your videos!

Hi Dennis, the best of Chinese carriers are Xiamen(Skyteam) and Hainan(Virgin Australia partner) and they are actually pretty much a class above China Eastern in both soft and hard products. Should try them one day, both flies to Sydney while Hainan does Melbourne, Brisbane and Cairns as well.

Another brilliant review, and things looked pretty good, as Chinese airlines seem to get a bad wrap on here.
So sad I never saw the amazing views of Australia's interior when I visited last year. Both my inbound and outbound flights were overnight. ☹️

Love these videos. Will likely never fly on any of these airlines, but it's fun getting a taste of the experience.
Love the haircut! On the topic of chinese carriers though, at least in my experience China Eastern are generally considered the worst of the major Chinese carriers, with Hainan being considered the best overall and Air China being the best of the "Big 3". In my experience, admittedly mostly in economy, that's generally held true though.That said, those 787s look a lot nicer than the A330s I'd flown with them!
The problem of Chinese eastern is the on-time rate in domestic and asia international flight in major airports(1st line and 2nd Upper line city in economy basis). Mostly related to bad weather, busy air traffic and millary restrictions.
As China Int‵l Airlines (Flagged), China Eastern Airlines and Southern Airlines have those large fleets from national basis, yet HNA with certain sub airlines (HK airline, Tianjin airlines with lowcost carieers) are private sectors relatively for globalization and market shares.
This is the first video of yours that I watched and I really enjoyed it! I travel a fair bit -- so it is great to know what there is available.

Im glad you did a review of this. I always see this airline when looking at flights and was never to sure if I should book with them. Im glad you did. Also I love your joke about the chinese tattoo. Made me laugh!
Great review as always, Dennis. Pretty ordinary wines for Business Class although it was good to see an Australian wines represented, though they could have done better. Australian wines tend to be under represented generally.

I have flown Air China, China Southern, and China Eastern, in steerage, not business class, and I was impressed with all three.

there weren't too many lights were because you've landed at PVG (Pudong) airport where locates far from the centre city, try SHA (Hongqiao) next time, its right in the middle of the shanghai, but they only offer domestic flight and few international flights.

I flew China Eastern from Paris to Shanghai in April - they do carry PJs for Business Class, but you have to ask for them. Really cool Chinese-style PJ top :)

My first impression was, wow looks like first class with the suite type feel, however felt like the seat was pretty cramped. One question i had was I saw the NFC reader by the electrical plug, wondering what you would need to purchase in a premium seat

J and S adventures I mean it‘s especially less disturbing in business class if you order your goods via your personal IFE and pay with your credit card directly at your seat. And it‘s also less work for the cabin crew because they only have to deliver your orders to your seat instead of pushing a full trolley through the whole cabin :)

Good to see you guys are all flying Chinese airlines. Checkout Hainan Airlines next time, the only Skytrax 5-star in Chinese airlines. I am a Chinese who flown basically all major Chinese airlines in Business class. Hainan and Southern are the ones I recommend.

I enjoyed China Eastern but found it equivalent to Air China and China Southern when traveling in business class. Like you mentioned, you won't go hungry!
