- The Carnivore Diet is becoming very popular because of all the health benefits it gives. Many people think Carnivore is very expensive, but that doesn't have to be true. You can do Carnivore on a budget, and this video will explain how.
The meat I talk about in this video is inexpensive and packed with all the nutrition your body needs. Food cravings and your longing for variety will diminish when you give your body nutrient-dense, tasty carnivore foods.

Absolutely spot on, Dr. Berry. My wife and I are dirt poor on a fixed income, both disabled and I STILL eat carnivore. I buy the best I can afford and I am as healthy as I can be at 65.
Good for you Ken. God bless you two.
Good. This lowers your life span.

Thank you sweetheart!!!
Freezing ground beef: place about a pound in a gallon size ziplock and roll it flat with a rolling pin before sealing. They stack better in the freezer and defrost fast when placed in a bowl of water.
Reuse the bag: no need to wash and dry, put the used bag back in the freezer until you have more ground beef to store
could also sous vide
That is so smart to put the bag back in the freezer! What a great idea and plus it saves from washing or just discarding. Thanks for the tip
What brilliant idea!!! Thank you for that as I have a small under counter freezer. I'm in UK.
This is basically what I’ve been doing, minus the flattening! I defrost the balls of meat with my pressure cooker (takes 20 min) 😊
Thanks
Here's a real world example of carnivore on a poverty budget doing it's thing. If anyone is discouraged by the price tag of the diet, please read this entire thing. It's important.
My mother had a tumor and was told it was inoperable when it was discovered. She wanted to do everything she could to fight for her health and she chose carnivore. Problem was she was living on a fixed SS income and living in housing for impoverished elders. Here's how she tackled the problem.
Food bank. This was a fantastic resource. Occasionally she'd find free meat that had been freezer burned there or donated game meat. She's a competent cook, so that wasn't a problem for her. But her primary target was cheap canned salmon. It was farmed and definitely not the best quality at all, but it was free.
She knew when her stores marked down their meats right before their weekly restock and she was at the doors when they opened to get the best deals. Sometimes she'd walk away with nothing, but other times she'd come out with some very affordable meat.
She bought the cheapest eggs and LOTS of them. Daily, she'd whip half a dozen eggs in a blender with some cream for her breakfast. (People are always shocked that this tastes absolutely wonderful. No texture problems. This is now my daily breakfast.) She did build up to that to the point where she was eating a dozen eggs a day, but in the end the cream was too expensive, so she cut it down to once a day. Many times she'd separate the whites from the yolks, eat the yolks raw with cream, and use the whites to make meatloaf or salmon patties. She ate a LOT of meatloaf, sometimes frying it as patties like hamburger.
She did have to buy cream and butter, but went for the store brand. (There turned out to be a twist on the cream thing that would make that a bigger problem now.) For her, bacon was a treat and she got store brand. She used it primarily as flavoring for main dishes, so it was used sparingly. She bought the cheapest canned tuna and any other potted meat she could get her hands on.
Now I eat raw calves liver three times a week and I buy the best quality I can find. My mom couldn't afford that, so she bought the regular stuff and ate it cooked. Thankfully, she's a liver-lover.
And she put the word out. She explained her plight and asked of anyone had some older frozen or canned meat that they were looking to get rid of. From that, a few hunters filled her small freezer with antelope and venison. None of it was great meat. Some had been sitting in the bottom of a chest freezer for years. She ended up with some weird animal parts and bones and that became broth. She gratefully took everything she was offered and made the best of it.
Incredibly, it worked beyond our wildest dreams. The tumor stopped growing completely. This bought her the two years she needed to find a surgeon who was willing to take the risk and accept Medicare. The surgeon's office reached out to the hospital and told them the situation and they hooked my mom up with a charity that helped pay off what Medicare. In the end, the surgery cost her nothing.
The ordeal did take a toll. The tumor was a hormone producing type and the damage will never totally be reversed, but she survived.
I get very frustrated and a little angry at the people who insist that people must eat the highest quality foods for carnivore to work. I put it this way. While the biproducts of happy animals are *better*, this doesn't mean that the products of regular animals is BAD. It's still good and plenty good enough to do the job.
Thank you for sharing 🤗 hugs for your sweet mama 💖
Compelling story. I’m glad your mom is on the mend❤️
Wonderful so happy your momma was able to get the help she needed. I hope she is doing well!!

I'm poor with a wife and three kids... I found all of these items already. But I'm glad that you're telling everyone else, so they don't run away because they think they need rib eye blessed by a priest.
You can always eat the kids!

"blessed by a priest" - hahahaha - I really like that.
@@MajorNyberg my notification sound is Jordan Peterson saying, "Don't forget, it's wrong to eat your children." It never fails to get attention when it goes off in public.
food waste is a challenge when you are buying in bulk for family... You can extend your hamburger by making them into meatballs and then freezing them for later use ..Meatballs can be made healthier if you dont use regular old bread or flour but use almond flour, steel cut oats, bran, and or ground flax seed as the filler... another way is to slow cook tougher cuts of meat, marinate and shred the cooked pork to extend its shelf life and make it easier to eat.. e.g. shredded pork tortillas.
Thank you Dr. Berry! I have been on carnivore for a couple of weeks and I am on food stamps and hot dogs, eggs and cheaper cuts of meat ate making me feel pretty darn good already. I have a ton of weight to lose and I have a bunch of autoimmune diseases to overcome. My skin is getting softer and less bumpy and I am starting to walk with less pain. Fatty Steak, like Ribeye. After you cook it, put salted butter on top. Use lots of Salt.

You CAN eat chicken, or pork or fish.
Oils: No seed oils like canola.
Oils that are OK: Avocado Oil or Extra Virgin Olive oil. Do not cook olive oil above 310F/ 154C

Buy Bacon. 400 degree oven. Parchment paper on a big cookie tray. Spread out the bacon. Cook at least 15-20 minutes like you prefer it. When done let the bacon cool on a plate of paper towels. Then load the cooled bacon into a 1 gallon ziplock bag. Keep in fridge. When you feel hungry like before bed have a couple pieces to quench the hunger so you can sleep.
The one thing Dr. Berry didn’t mention was shopping your local circulars. Meat is always on sale and you just need to shop around. Meal plan weekly based on what is on sale. I’m getting ready to do this and can’t wait to see all the amazing health benefits. The one thing I must say is this, he’s more concerned about promoting heath than he is sponsorships. That speaks volumes to the kind of man he is.
What do you have on your shopping list?

Wht did u stop
I'm 71 years old and I must say that I haven't had canned sardines since I was around 12. I made the mistake of packing a sardine sandwich for a school trip. As we unpacked our lunches on the bus on the way back to school I was shamed because of my "fragrant" lunch. I loved sardines because they were so tasty. Never again did I eat canned sardines. I will go back to my roots and start enjoying them again. I come from Portuguese stock and I have continued to enjoy fresh sardines grilled over a fire whenever I can make it to an ethnic celebration.
72 and still love sardines.. Sardine and onion sandwiches😊
You did not have sardines; you had minnows/baitfish from Canada. Sardines only come from Portugaul and Morocco ; Straits of Gibraltar. They do not stink nor taste like that Canadian Trash. Read the label and see where they come from; you will be pleasantly suprised. Even WalMart carries them.
I’m so sorry you were teased about that. I’m sure that hurt your heart. You didn’t deserve that. There’s nothing wrong with yummy sardines❤️
I eat a can a day but only the one's in spring water or brine. The others have "oil" which I avoid.
Beef liver is amazing. I grinned a pound up (in my blender) with a pound of ground beef and made meat balls. OMG they were amazing
Omg...i hate liver since baby ... Mom told me so... I think i ll try your idea...looks yum 😆..thanks 💃
I love beef liver but I have been thinking of doing exactly what you did - to recommend to people who don't like liver. Do you do 1 lb to 1 lb?

I've gone through it for 14 years with fibromyalgia and many other medical situation's and I just had total knee replacement and I got healed quicker. I'm still working on it but I'm going forward. Want to tell you it just keep going forward OK you can do this and it's amazing after three days to a week, you're not gonna have any pain and you're gonna feel so much better if carnivores to hard start off with a Keto and Wean yourself off of the different items. But don't get into all the junk of keto because it really will disrupt you wanting to eat properly.
HUGE respect for making this video. Although I can and do pay $20-25 a pound for steak I'm NOT so far removed from reality to think everyone else should/ could when it's just me a 120 lbs female with a pretty good income. Now you have a family of four or more barley making ends meet with several males some teenagers, and they're supposed to only eat grass fed organic food, get real. Dr. Berg drives me nuts telling people to only eat organic and how toxic and dangerous eating this nonorganic meat or vegetables is when you have people struggling to buy a happy meal (not saying they should) He seems to not realize there's countless people getting by on minimum wage or less. I know because I used to be one of those people.

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😭😭😭 I have been carnivore for 7 days and my sleep and sinus issues have improved I went to Walmart and bought what I could afford. Thank you so much for this video!!! All the best to you and your Family ❤
I started this as an elimination diet because I have IBS. I'm over 3 months in and I've lost 25 lbs! I am actually surprised that I don't have cravings for other foods and have not gotten board with my meal options. I'm not a meat person so I tend to stick with my favorites, which is burgers with bacon and fried eggs, but I definitely experiment a lot.
I've also brought my family along on this journey by making my children and husband sugar free. They follow a heavy meat keto type diet and have done so for three weeks. So far my 10 year old has gone off his adhd meds and my husband is down 30lbs! (compared to too me he ate horribly so he's losing weight faster.)
As for affordability, we have 5 children 1-11 years old and we are at the point where we have our meals figured out so we spend about $130 a week on food. We bought Maria Emmerich's book called Sugar Free Kids and use a lot of her recipes, and that's helped to make it more fun for the kids. Definitely recommend!
Growing up in north Alabama, the local folks said “Vi-enners” and when was able to read I wondered what “Vienna” was doing on that label. My father took them to his job site and had them with saltine crackers, hot sauce, and a cola. When I went to college I was so happy to make precious friends with a girl more country fried than me. She innocently said “Vi-enners,” and I quietly smiled.

I like the 4 ounce tins of mackerel in olive oil. Pretty much the highest or 2nd highest omega 3 fish available.
Found out from a friend canned mackerel at Dollar stores 15oz !
Hey watch out for where that stuff comes from...
I voraciously eat canned tuna in oil, and love mackerel and salmon. I'm fairly new to keto and carnivore, so enjoying learning. Down 40 lbs and 180 to go.
Watch out for the high mercury content in tuna.
Oil isn't carnivore
Couldn't care less if oil is or isnt carnivore. The fact I'm choosing tuna over a big mac is a big thing.
@angieabella8856 Big mac without the bun, and other veg is probably more carnivore than canned tuna. The problem is not even JUST in the oil... there are serious mercury issues in the meat itself AS WELL. People go carnivore mostly because they have auto-immune issues related to toxins in plant material. Beef is healthy!!! Tuna is very lean, low in fat, and VERY high in mercury. Tuna is not recommended for people that can avoid it. Most salmon is farm raised which has a host of issues you can look into... but much canned salmon is wild caught. Wild caught Salmon is better except for mercury. Most wild caught salmon is Sockeye which is pretty lean... so I recommend cooking and garnishing it in butter or bacon fat. I recommend eating smaller fish with much less mercury like (SARDINES). Eating sardines for omegas, bacon for fat, grass fed meat for omega 3 balance is what you want to get to. I am pointing out where you are going wrong, so you can stop. Canned Tuna is NOT better than plain McD patties [at least no study has shown it]. PEACE Health Warrior!
Canned tuna?? not a good idea. High mercury content in Tuna meat and avoid "farmed" salmon due to the food the fisheries feed them with.

You brought up a point I was actually talking to my wife about last week: eggs. Eggs have to have everything necessary for life because the egg itself has to turn into a whole animal without any outside input.
Eggsactly!!
Technically only fertilized eggs can turn into a chicken. The eggs you buy at the grocery store are unfertilized.
@@lisabrooks1208 yes, but that doesn't change the fact that the yolk is there to do the job of feeding the fertilized egg to completion. It's there regardless of fertilization.

Raw liver at room temp. Heat a stainless steel skillet over medium-low (that’s right) heat, with a big glob of salted butter until the butter starts to bubble. Add your liver, salt and pepper the top, and cook for just three to four minutes until it doesn’t stick and has started to brown on the other side. Flip your liver over with a fork and repeat. Don’t worry about any myoglobin that escapes from the pockets.
The trouble most people have with liver is that they overcook it at too high a heat which makes it taste strong and ruins the texture. Liver should be served soft enough to not need a knife to cut.
Try a soak in milk for several hours, drain off and slow cook 6 hts in onion..water, ketchup, marmite. Served with colli mash
Incredible
I know how to cook liver I cook real fast for my husband with bacon and sauted onions. Still can't eat it. I am not a picky eater but for some reason can't tolerate it or any canned fish
jack thomas LOL....That sounds like a mess, but to each his own.
Lisa Jorgenson I can understand the fish, but I’ve fed liver to many people who claimed to hate it or not tolerate it over the years without them even knowing, and they always love it and eat it all.
Fast frying may be part of the problem.
Resting Bitchface I will have to it this way :)
Just about two weeks in and so far I feel this will be an easily sustainable diet. I’ve already been eating a lot of these in my keto diet, so I basically just cut out vegetables. Sardines have been my secret weapon and I carry them everywhere I go.
Hope you carry some peppermint mouth spray as well.
Some more tips: Brisket can be purchased at Gorden's Food Service for around $3 lb. It's cheap because there's a lot of fat and they are HUGE. Expect to spend $50 + for them. Aldi's has great meats, low cost. Aldi's Ribeyes are excellent and are currently $12 lb. Mexican grocery stores at least in my area of NW Indiana, have meat that is cheaper than even Aldi's and will usually carry real lard. Plus if they have a hot food deli, they might have Chicharrons which is deep fried pig skin with some fat and meat attached.
$12 a lb is cheap?
Chuck steak (called Braising steak in the UK) is the cheaper alternative to ribeye. Contains ample fat just like ribeye but cost less than half the price.
Chopped hotdogs scrambled with eggs! My kids and I love ❤️ it!! Quick and easy to make
My favorite, I love hot dogs in my scrambled eggs
Bacon used to be a guilty pleasure for me but, not feeling any guilt right about now. Thank u Dr. B
Good Stuff Doc! I wanted to share a recipe of something I have been makin'. I'm on an OMAD and STRICTLY carnivore with Monday all day fasting! It's a 3 day - "fish casserole" kind of creation. Consists of a can of Albacore tuna in spring water, a can of sardines - wild caught in water and a vacuum packed large piece of wild caught alaskan salmon (coho or sockeye) from Trader Joes, all cooked on my outside covered grille. I put the salmon on a foil boat out on the covered grille and while its cookin', I make a foil boat platter with about 20" of foil, folded long way in1/2 and then cup up the outer edge (about an inch) to make a boat. Then scoup in the tuna (after draining water) and the anchovies -drained- and break up it all and stir it up. After the salmon cooks (about 15 minutes) I scoup it into the mixture and break it all up and stir it in. Then I scoup it all into the foil boat and flatten it out and put a couple scoups of beef tallow (fat) on top for oil. Then back in to the grille for about 10 -15 more minutes. But I also make about 6 local free range raw eggs whipped in a bowl and pour it on top and kind of stir it in. In 10 minutes I have a 3 day casserole that I divide in three and last me for 3 meals (days)! It only comes to about $5 per day to eat! It's awesome!!
Sounds so good!
Sockeye is VERY expensive here in the UK. Ribeye is cheaper.
Really so thankful to have found your channel. I’m totally shocked as to how much less hungry I am after greatly reducing my carbs. Some days even completely carb free.
Exactly, I have some carb free days here n there getting used to it and using up what's in the house, eventually I am going full KETO , by next summer , now I may change my mind but i'll still be eating much lower carbs than before if nothing else.
I fry pork chops in bacon grease and then use some of that to make a cream based gravy. Yep, it's good
I also like to use my pan to make sauces and gravies by using garlic, fresh herbs, spices, sometimes some sliced mushrooms, and cream. So yum.
Do you thicken it with anything? If so, what?
@@LindaHopson I allow the cream to thicken it. Basically reduce it in the pan until the desired thickness. It can take a while but so worth it!
Just shallow fried some chicken wings in bacon grease. Really best wings I've ever had!
Great list, if I may I would like to add my own suggestion.
In the UK we call it Belly Pork, I don't know if you have it in the US but it is delicious and so nutritious. It's basically like very thick-cut unsmoked Bacon. I eat it at least 2-3 times a week and it's ideal for anyone on a low fixed budget👍👍
Yesss I'm obsessed with pork belly! I cut it into bite size cubes and fry it up really crispy 😋
@@heathersmith4919I'm glad that I'm not the only Pork belly fan and cutting it up before frying is a great idea👍👍
I ❤️. Porkbelly. If you have an air fryer you cook it till crisp add salt. Meat candy 😂. I found the recipe on FB. Yum!!
@@holycow92883 Yes, it's delicious when cooked in an Airfryer. Basically, if I can't make it in the Airfryer I don't make it
Pork belly not good for carnivore pork dirty parsditic
I found a great deal with ends and pieces 3 pounds for $9.47. I fry it up and keep it in a glass container in my fridge and munch on it throughout the day. The best part is that I strain the bacon grease and use it along with butter to make deviled eggs with bacon bits in them. Thank you Dr. Berry!!!
Have a video on making those eggs ? Sounds amazing
Dr Berry.. Don't forget about canned salmon. To me, same as sardines but more tolerable to most folks.
Except higher up on the food chain so you have to worry about mercury, and also most of it is farmed/GMO. Sardines you don't have to worry about either.
@@rherteux well, it's a good point, however for those who like fish, but don't like sardines, it's a trade off. I'm 64 years old and have realized life is one big trade off. I always check the label for "wild caught". Thanks for your concern and may the LORD bless you.
@@rherteux TBT and TBH 👍
I love smoked salmon with paprika
Diabolus_Musica 14.75oz of canned salmon is $3.00 - $4.75 per can. Canned sardines 3.75oz is $.90 - $2.25. Not much difference.
Finally, a person who realizes that we're not all millionaires. Good job. I'll try the sardines -- I usually use them to bait live traps to catch critters who eat chickens. But I have to draw the line at liver. I got into too much trouble as a kid because I refused to eat the stuff to start eating it now.
Lol
Try LAMBS liver fried with smoked bacon, onion and a spoon of curry paste. Add a tin of chopped tomatoes and simmer for 15 minutes. You will thank me.
@@stevenhull5025 UK, Australia, or New Zealand?
Occasionally, I see some lamb chops or a leg of lamb in the grocery store here in the US. But even that isn’t an everyday occurrence. I’ve never seen lambs liver. Still, if I ever see any, I’ll give it a try. Thanks for the advice.
@@stevenhull5025 So it’s carnivore if you pick out the livers and eat them, and throw out the tomatoes and other stuff?
Oh, Dr Berry, please tell your wife to give you a hug for me. I feel like you're saving my life! I was about to give up on this. I just cannot afford the organic, grass fed, grass finished, unprocessed meat that a different health guru on here was telling us to buy. I can no longer afford both a home payment and a healthy diet. This, however, i can - well, except i can't get used to sardines yet.
I'm making sure to stay away from sugar, but i can't get my sugar under control without medication. Everybody keeps saying that that don't need meds anymore. Well, maybe if i can get my weight back to 125, then i won't need it, but until then, I'm fighting for my life!
THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME SAVE MY LIFE.
I love everything you mentioned. Fried liver sausage and eggs has always been a favorite of mine.
I’ve been keeping my bacon grease in a coffee can for as long as I can remember. So did my mom and my grandma. I love cooking with bacon grease. It adds a lot of flavor to whatever I’m cooking. Thank you for this video. I always learn something from your videos.
I keep mine in a Ball canning jar
That's what I saw my grandmother do, and bacon grease was the secret to her rye bread! Now I save bacon grease, but I strain it first, and keep it in a mason cup jar for hubs to cook his eggs in.
I cook my egg yolks in tallow. 😊
Keeping bacon grease for as long as you can remember is a very long time to store any food, possibly unsafe by now.
@@RobbeyT1 lol not if your an old timer like me, and as long as u can remember is 30 minutes
Yeah, that's something a lot of us down south do, too. One our favorite things is to cook our chicken and beef liver in the bacon grease for a really good flavor!
Diced Spam scrambled with eggs is one of my favorites.
That sounds amazing!
In Hawaii I learned to eat Spam a hundred different ways lol. They love their Spam so much that per capita Hawaii eats more Spam than any other state in America lol.
“Hey do you want some peanut butter cups with your Spam and eggs?” Lol. That’s from 50 first dates the movie with Adam Sandler. Its a great movie and Sean Aston is hilarious in it lol Anyway you can google Spam recipes from Hawaii and you will get a tonne of recipes
Hawaii loves Spam because in WWII they depended on it and the fish they could catch, gardens they raised, eggs if they had chickens. Especially on the outer islands, meats were hard to come by. islanders are preppers, lesson learned!
Spam is highly processed. Contains preservatives like sodium nitrate and is low in vitamins and minerals.
I am subscribed because I enjoy and always learn something from your videos. Thank you so much for the excellent information!
David's Salmon Patties --- 1 can of Salmon, 1/2 cup of pork rind crumbs(can made by crunching up pork rinds, some places you can find in a contianer same place as bread crumbs), 2 TBS of home made butter, pack into burgers.. you should get 4 for a can worth..... a great option for omegas, oils etc..
God bless you Doc, for sharing the truth about healthy living. I’m down a total of 90lbs combining carnivore with OMAD. I feel like I can wrestle a rhino and kick its ass.
awesome!
Amen!
It was so nice to turn the corner like that. I am only at 2 weeks strict Carnivore i was vegan last June for 5 years i added animals first and went semi keto till 2 weeks ago.
Dr. Berry, You are downright awesome! You’re down to earth and tell it like it is. Your humor is so welcome, you give great advice and I for one appreciate you like crazy. Thank you for being you!
I love the fact that you included hot dogs, bologna, Vienna sausages, and other more processed and refined meats because more often than not people throw shade at these options, but they're still really great and cost effective.
I bought ribeye for $11.98 lb and also bought BarS thick sliced bologna for $1.98 a 12 oz pack. Just had a slice smothered in mustard sliced into thin strip to snack on.. very good
beef hot dogs and sausages are a great deal. many of them don't even have crazy fillers or anything
Thank you for including humble affordable meats Yum I want to try liver mousse ❤
The cheaper meats often add msg to the ingredients. I am allergic to msg.😮
What exactly makes you think they are great? It is exactly the bad side of meat - highly processed meat. That's what the vegans on purpose throw in a can together with "meat". All the studies showing that "meat" seems bad are actually about processed meat.
So good to hear the Vianney sausage.
That’s the way I grew up pronouncing it and people made fun of me because no one else said that. Since I no longer have saltines, I have it with hot sauce and pork rinds.
Thanks getting me on keto.
I’m deep into low carb and your videos are great as refresher/reminders/inspiration...I talk them up to any carnivore newbie I meet in person or online...congrats!
Brilliant info. Thank you! Glad you put viennas and non-pastured meat into perspective. I've been worried and saying an extra prayer over my meat if it's not pasture-raised. :D
Thanks so much for this information. I want to start the BBBE challenge but wanted more guidance & ideas. I didn't want to get bored & fail. I love beef liver & haven't eaten it in a while as no one else in my home doesn't like it but I'm going to get liver back in my repertoire. The hardest part will be carbs (rice, pasta & bread), whew. But I'm going to give it my best. One day at a time. Be well.
Thank you for all the tips and hints. I've done intermittent fasting and keto before, now I'm coupling IF & carnivore.
Liver still gives me the willies, but I LOVE braunschweiger. I ate it as a kid, and after a 4 decade break, still love it. I'll count that as my organ meat, lol.
Really appreciate this info and the hard work you put into these videos, Ken
Dr ken I love you man . Fixing my health one video at a time . Thank you
This helps so much. I realize that the potted meats shouldn’t be a go to, but it’s good that you give the option for people on a budget or even to add the occasional variety. I start back on carnivore tomorrow has this video helps me feel more confident about budgeting bc last time I was buying the best steaks I could find and I couldn’t afford it.
Many thanks for this great well presented video and instruction. I am going to start a carnivore diet on my 55th birthday next month and stick at it and I will watch and learn from your videos and hope they keep my momentum going. Love and respect from England UK ❤
Happy Birthday@ynot
Thank you, Dr Berry! My Dad says it that way, too!
"panda massaged" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Started carnivore a week ago and I like it. A lot of things are better with my body and mind. Everything is expensive these days especially steak. Thank you very much for the info.
Hello Dr Berry, I'm in my late 40s and over Weight, I'm at a point in life where I want to make a change to feel better and be healthier. I will be starting carnivore diet tomorrow and I have found all your videos has been very helpful and easy to understand. Thank you so much for sharing.
You can do it!!!
How did it go? 🥸
You read my mind with this video, thanks Dr. Berry!
Was thinking about this today and you uploaded. Very grateful. It's quite expensive to buy only grassfed meat. That is IF I'm able to find some... Thank you!
Thank you for all the educating you do!!❤
Thx Doc.....appreciate the good options given here.....
Love the practicality of this video. Many would like to change their diet, but often feel it’s out of reach because of budget and expensive ingredients. Homemade bacon chips topped with chicken liver pate, yum! Thank you Dr.Berry and family
I’ve been eating the same thing everyday for the last 7 months and for some crazy reason I don’t get tired of it, I actually look forward to my lunch which is 2 hamburger patties 73/27 fat. Dinner ribeye steak , porterhouses or t-bone , ribeye being my favorite. If I end up having something different like pork or fish, Im thinking I’d rather be eating steak 🥩 😀.
ultimatevend me too! 👍🏻
Yeah, 73/27 ground beef never gets old (grass fed blows in my opinion). I like it with Montreal steak seasoning and lots of sliced sweet onion. It is literally the only food that when I think of it makes my mouth water.
Me too! 7 weeks in 🥩
That sounds expensive, wish I could do that
Me too exactly.
Loved the Video, it is great to see all the 'cheaper' options, would have never thought of canned meat. Thank you so much.
A good alternative for pure Liver is Liverwurst! I am in Germany, and Liverwurst is practically everywhere and we can get it in jars and cans for long shelflive too. It can be affordable, has liver in it and is pretty tasty. Just keep an eye on ingredients, some producers like to hide some carbohydrates in there too.
In the US, you’re likely to find added high fructose corn syrup, and or sugar
Been following Dr. B now for at least 5 years. On Mondays for lunch I have 3 fried eggs with chicken livers fried in bacon grease. Wednesday is a sardine salad (sardines mixed with avocado mayo) and I eat it as a dip with pork rinds. Friday lunch is fried eggs with chicken hearts cut in half and fried in bacon fat. I actually like the taste of beef liver better than chicken liver but I just can't deal with that tough inedible vessel (or whatever it is) anymore.
One of the best tips someone ever gave me. You can freeze cooked ground meat. I watch for the good bulk sale, break into 1 lb chunks, brown it up, let it cool and then vacuum seal it (
Thank you! Keto has been amazing for me, but I had some left over issues like the last 10% of my fibromyalgia. Carnivore has been helping.
Vieenies - LOVE it! My grandmommy used to serve those to us when I was growing up. Thanks for this video, Dr. Berry! such great info to help us keep up with staying on track with carnivore within our budgets.
Halloween this year my doctor told me the ultrasound revealed some fatty liver, gallstones and one kidney stone. I gave up alcohol 3 years ago thank goodness but I knew it was the sugar in my diet and my occasional indulgence in fast food. I watched your utube on how to reverse and heal from fatty liver and I started right away. I’m feeling so much better and I’m sleeping better. Really grateful to you. I have a ct scan on the 24 . I feel empowered that I’m eating a proper human diet. Thanks, Maja
On day 4 of carnivore diet. Think I'm past the worst of the sugar cravings. Love Dr. Berry. Very helpful with real life suggestions (like for poorer people).
Thank you for your reassuring suggestions. So much snobbery amongst the nutrition "experts".
I'm glad you said this about hotdogs because sometimes I don't feel like cooking I can get a hotdog at the gas station. My Dietitian is trying to wean me from doing that. I don't have the type of budget to buy a tons of steak all the time either. The cost of meat has gone up so much this year and I am on SSDI and Single. I had a gastric sleeve done five or six years ago now, but during Covid, I had a very hard time finding any meat and it took me off track. I've had a very hard time getting back on track and I put back on a fair amount of weight that doesn't seem to want to go back down. I've also slipped back into eating carbs from Covid. That I have to ween myself back off of again. I just found your videos yesterday and they've been helpful to remind me what I'm supposed to do. The aftercare after Bariatric surgery is not that great still. It took me about a year to get an appointment with a dietitian. I they didn't even have a Dietitian on staff where I'm living and I was calling all around the country when I started having problems. I now have to have B12 shots and iron infusions, because my body no longer absorbs it from food. I got really really sick for about two years. I'm still having problems but not as bad as I was my iron was down to 4% when they caught it. Right now I'm having monthly cycle problems. My body is releasing too much blood so in the last month I've had three iron in fusion that I'm still recuperating from the blood loss.
Now I'm craving a lot of meat. I've always had a very hard time eating a lot of meat. I don't want to look at it or cook it. All I see, is the animal and murder! ☹😩😭 I do agree with you about if you're going to slaughter an animal, you probably should eat the whole thing like the native Indians do. Because I do you wear leather and I upcycle etc.... I don't know how to cook a lot of meat I'm still learning at 51. I just hope eating a lot of meat again that I start dropping weight fast like I did when I first had surgery. I drop eight dress sizes in a year. The first week I lost 45 pounds, which now I understand was probably water weight. I didn't think too much of it. I just thought it was kind of crazy and I didn't talk about it much. I just kept going. I did have some issues that I hope this time around. I'm able to deal with better with men hitting on me and would just walk up and grab me. IT FREAKED ME OUT! I know as a kid, I started eating food to hide myself from men being attracted to me. And I know, unconsciously, I started unconsciously eating because of it again. Thank God for Covid hitting!!!! 6ft is all I have to say!!!!
I don't know how to deal with unwanted attention very well because I've been obese most of my adult life that it wasn't really that big of an issue. Men's just started coming out of the woodwork, and it freaked me out! Even with men that I already knew. It was really messing with me because I'm still the same person they knew before. They weren't that interested in me then..... So my answer to all of that / all of them is a BIG FAT NOPE!!!!
Just subscribed because of your understanding of the funding needs of many people. Welll done doctor
Just wanted to say thanks. This is my diet of choice after almost died from calcium overdose. For one I now know soda causes my body cramps. Probably causing my heartburn also.
Thanks again! I love it!
Let's go directly to the source: EAT THOSE PANDAS!!
Thanks Doc, right on point as usual. A friend recently asked how I lost so much weight and went off meds. Now he remarked: "Guess I chose a bad time to try keto/carnivore.' .I'll send him the link to this video.
Perfect! Carnivore can be very affordable, and sustainable.
I am so with you on the pandas - anything that takes that much effort to survive and breed needs to be eaten out of the food chain - pass the grill pan and the salt.
@@joannekerr8839 Wow! Sorry pandas can't survive living in strip malls. They don't sell bamboo at 7-11. We robbed them of their bamboo forests. The earth needs to heal for us to be here. I wish we all respected our planet like the Native Americans did/do.
@@staceykersting705 It's not about the deprivation of their habitat at all. Do some googling on the pathetic reproductive lives of pandas BECAUSE of their bamboo shoot diet. The natural history of the panda is fascinating, in that they are orchestrating their OWN destruction and we're just getting in the way.
Thanks so much for the information. Once upon a time I could lost and gain weight on demand. Now being over 50 I’m struggling. Thank you for your expertise. Much appreciated.
Thanks Dr.Berry, two years as ts ago I tried Kippered Snacks and I think they are delicious. Keep up the good work.
This item wasn't mentioned here, but it's something I'd never had before, and I found it on Walmart's site while assembling a delivery order: pork butt steak, which was cut something like a pork chop, and they also have chuck roasts up to 4.4# each, which you could carve yourself and make into several meals, and it's pretty fatty.
I buy chuck roast from a local butcher shop because it is cheap and has a decent amount of fat. I also brush it with bacon grease to add more fat and I can get 3 meals out of it.
A pork roast can be sliced by butcher. Its called a pork steak. Delicious ❤
When you slice a chuck roast it becomes chuck eye steaks it's the cut next to the ribeyes it is marbled well I had it for supper tonight very delicious
Ask for pork arm steak. Siced about three fourths of an inch. Fry in bacon grease. Its delicious.
One my favorites is liverwurst. Sometimes I mix it with cream cheese. It does have a trace amount of sugar. So its a treat more than a staple.
I grew up on braunschweiger (liverwurst) and have ALWAYS loved it!!! Didnt even know it was liver till I was older. I have always thought of making it myself, but never ventured into it. I may give this a go!!
You n me!
Love it so much, but the big rolls are too much for me to finish before they go bad, so I slice them up, put them into zipper bags and take them out and eat them individually.

I want to thank you Dr Berry for this video. I just finished watching an excellent documentary on the perfect diet for humans and it is basically a carnivore diet with some nuts and low carb fruits and vegetables thrown in. I was wondering how I can afford to eat like this and your video provided me with the answer that I was looking for. Thanks again!
Glad I found you, can't wait to see the look on my doctor's face when she sees my blood work in 3 months and everything is perfect. Then I tell her what I ate to get that way, bet it will be a jaw dropping moment for her.
It was you and Dr. Baker that drew me into carnivore. Dr. Berg, Dr. Fung and also you are who drew me into keto and fasting. After great results with that, I feel ready to tackle carnivore. I’m on my 9th day and so far, so good! Thank you.

Dr. Berry, thank you for all the great content you are putting out. Would this apply to things like summer sausage and hard salami as well?
Very helpful video. I was feeling discouraged because I can afford grass fed/organic and was just going to quit the diet. Not anymore. Thanks!
A great post. Thanks DB
Sardines are fantastic. I love the Porthos brand (from Portugal) packed in either brine or Tomato Sauce. The sardines with skin and bones are even better for you! Dr. Trying to get more into liver. It's still somewhat of an acquired taste.

Very informative. Thanks Dr. Ken Berry
Oh thank you!
I have put off starting the carnivore diet because I was worried about the cost. But I finally started & this is very helpful. I am not really a fan of potted meats on the average, but it's good to know I can resort to it if needed. Thanks for the reminder of sardines, I really enjoy them. And I love liver paté & make it often.
