My dad ate bacon and eggs, especially eggs, every single day, sometimes he'd eat a half dozen eggs in a morning, he'd eat one, then say "Just one more" and eat another. He was one of the strongest men I've ever known. When he was 85 he was having anxiety because my mother had died and they were together for nearly 70 years. I took him to the doctor and the doctor checked him out then stepped back and looked at him and said, move over and give me the bed, you're healthier than I am. He had the blood pressure and heart rate of my 18 year old grandson who was an elite athlete. My father rarely ate vegetables, I don't recall ever seeing him eat fruit. He loved meat and that's mostly what he ate and it was always cooked always with bacon fat or butter. Slathered butter on everything, sometimes just eating a knifeful of butter because he loved the taste. He lived to 89 years old and there was nothing wrong with him, his health was great, but he missed my mother so much that he just stopped wanting to live.

I said because it was made of 90% veal liver and that liver is possibly the most nutrient dense food out there. He laughed and said when you heat up liver you lose all possible nutrients and that chikpeas was the real superfood. Lmao yeah I have the same problem. My mom is convinced that animal fat is bad for you and she eats turkey bacon and whatnot. Like, she literally got mad at me for feeding my brothers the fat from a steak that I made (they wanted to try it and they liked it) and said that if I don't listen to her, I'll get heart disease or something. One of my friends thinks that veggies are essential. I am still fat from diet ngl but only because I had to eat out so much bc I kept running out of carnivore foods. I just need to get the inexpensive ones and keep it going. I'll lose weight then and eat more steaks when I can afford it, not when I think I can lol. Anyways, ya'lls stories are inspiring. Most of my other friends are supportive so that's nice. I have a lot of ground ruminant animal meats in my fridge. Unfortunately I don't have enough to last me until next time I shop so I'll have to eat out for a minute. It'll be worth it once I get my carnivore foods: eggs, bacon, sausage, maybe salami and pepperoni, cheese, yogurt, beef, chicken thighs (bone in and w/ skin ofc) and maybe some berries. Thing is both of those people speaking bad on my beliefs lost weight eating what they eat. I haven't lost any yet, once again bc I kept running out of food before I could lose anything. The longest I lasted was 2 two weeks. I eat a lot more than I think I do. I forget that when I shop. It's a struggle but hopefully they'll see my progress and will get off my case and maybe even believe me and try it themselves. Doubtful, but worth hoping. Good day

Bacon & eggs were a staple at our house growing up! We had a can on top of the stove that had a strainer in the top portion, it was made specifically to filter out all the junk in bacon grease. That can was always at least half full and my mom used bacon grease to cook pretty much everything. Who needs buttered popcorn when you pop it in bacon grease? It's so tasty! That is how I learned to cook. Anyway my mother lived until she was 94 and still had all her faculties, sharp as a tack and still working part time right up until a month before she passed. Still had all her own teeth and up until that final month had not been a patient in the hospital since 60 years prior when I was born. I used to listen to all the advice about food until they started trying to tell us that eggs were bad for you. Well I knew from personal experience that was a load of crap so I quit taking them seriously.

I'm Still mad over the diets that were pushed on us in the late 70's and especially the 80's with low-fat and higher carbs. Low-fat anything tasted awful. On higher carbs, you diet your brains out and go to the gym until your tongue was hanging out and you never could keep any weight off, IF you lost any. Plus, you'd be hungry in 4 hours! Keto is a wonderful, healthy diet that I love!

I remember all of that well myself but I also remember that nobody put a gun to my head and said I had to go low fat and hi carbs but then I was the one that wasn’t ever fat , ate red meat twice a day, 7 days a week, salted as much as I wanted, plenty of taters with a full stick of homemade butter, and pie and ice cream for deserts and later for a snack!

That's because your cells cannot burn fat while they are burning carbs. Workout till no energy and then when your body is ready to switch to fats you leave the gym and have your post workout meal....full of carbs.

I am in Australia and our bacon doesn’t have much fat on it. I see how the people in the US are able to pour off bacon fat when they cook bacon, also it is cut too thick here so it doesn’t become crispy. The narrative of low fat is still strong here in Australia.

I tend to eat between 1/2-1 pound of bacon 4-5 times a week on the Keto diet.
Prior to keto I had full blown metabolic syndrome.
That has completely reversed and not only are all my labs ideal but I’ve dropped 50 lbs and I feel great.
I sleep like a baby every night, have no chronic aches & pains, and I have consistent energy throughout the day. No more after lunch energy plummets.
