Great job Roskoe! After I heard Lucy sing Evergreen, I went back and listened to Barbra sing it in a couple videos and, I've got to tell you, Lucy's voice is smoother and her vibrato is better. This video Lucy is teaching a class in proper vibrato. They both held that last note forever. Still think Lucy is the best singer in my lifetime!

Great review Roskoe. Lots to look at and listen to in this video. I have followed Lucy for about 3 years now. The first time I heard he sing I knew she was going places. I think she did this song justice by staying close to the original. I think Barbra would definitely approve of this cover. Lucy is 19 now and she just keeps getting better and better. She did put a few twists in the song that I like better. There was a few times she held on to a word or note a little longer than the original. I think with that rich and enchanting voice she has she will be a super star in the future. Thanks Roskoe for supporting Lucy.

Thank you Roscoe for the wonderful Reactions you gave to these great young girl singers Lucy Thomas for her rendition of Barbara Streisand Evergreen and Amira Willighagen for her live performance of Nella Fantasia which was out of this world, she was singing at a concert in Pretoria South Africa 2016 or 2017 she was only 12 years old at the time truly amazing. Yes you did react to one of Barbra's live performances of this song at the '86 "One Voice" concert. Perhaps it would be nice though, Roskoe, for you to also hear Barbra's original video soundtrack version from the movie, of which this young lady is using the same music track.
My only reaction to this and other covers she's done, is it would be nice to hear a unique version instead of singing it almost note for note like the original, but I've said this before about several young YT singers as well. In this biz, you need a unique style of your own to succeed big.
Lucy has 6 original songs recorded at 19. How many did Barbra have at 19? She is just getting started in her career. She is still in school. Young people need a chance to get some experience under their belt. She is also working on a musical that will open the fall at the West End in London called “Rosie”. She will be playing the leading roll.
@jimivison5837 Today, one's age has nothing to do with anything. It is much easier today for young people to be heard worldwide and gain exposure because of social media and platforms like YT and IG, than it was 60 years ago. Many young artists today, younger than even 19, were successful recording artists with original "hits"...Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish to name a few, were all 16 or younger, and none started out singing covers on YT.
But to answer your specific question, Barbra was singing professionally in nightclubs at 18 followed by many television appearances; at 19 she was on Broadway for her first musical and within two years, she was headlining her own Broadway musical as Fanny Brice in "Funny Girl;" at 20 her first album won a Grammy. But it was her unique, eclectic style that made her stand out from anyone else at that time.
Lucy is very very good, but I don't think her popularity and music success will be in pop music. I do think however, she will be very successful on or off Broadway in musicals. She has a voice that should be heard, but instead of covering older artists' signature and popular songs, imo she should stick with originals or at least songs that are not so synonymous with iconic singers.
I've heard this beautiful girl's Barbra covers and she reminds me of Barbra singing after taking an ambien. She doesn't have that spark in her voice like Barbra did. She reminds me more of Debby Boone. She is pretty though. I love your reactions. Check out Debby Boone You light up my life and you'll see that she more like her. Lol

It’s interesting. Lucy has over 50 videos, most of which are covers of songs by superstar singers. There have been literally hundreds of reaction videos to her songs. The only negative comments I have ever seen posted have been from Barbra Streisand fans proclaiming how Barbra is better. They should really chill out. For them Babs will always be the greatest of all time and that’s just fine. But there is room in the world for lots of great singers and there isn’t a winner take all competition.

Personally I think its better than the Streisand version.
