Today on the route home from work I encountered some unexpected construction on the highway. Upon exited the freeway my car took the first turn fine. You’ll see where things took an unexpected turn, fortunately I’ve encountered this same behavior multiple times in the past. Only difference is this time we had our camera up to record this major issue with 12.3.6 Thanks again for tuning into the channel! - Zábava
thanks for sharing it!
No problem, thank you for tuning into the channel!
God damn thats a serious issue
Indeed. Hopefully they get this fixed before it causes an accident.
Did you say what version of FSD you're using? I'm using version 12.3.6 and using the default settings I noticed how aggressive it was. I toned down the settings especially the one about minimal lane changing and I noticed a lot of the weird lane changing stuff stopped. So overall would you recommend FSD or not?
Normally I state the version at the beggining or at least in the description. Might have forgot to input the software number, this was 12.3.6. Normally i stick with normal mode but minimal lane change was not turned on for this drive. I would recommend FSD as long as someone is behind the wheel paying super close attention. The unexpected issues just need to be anticipated if the system is in use.
@@Full_Self_Driven I agree, you do have to pay very close attention. The one thing I really hate about it is Navigation does not have a setting to let you avoid highways like Google Maps does so it's always trying to force you onto the freeway. I think I'm going to pay the $99 for one more month to see if they send me version 12.14.2 or 3 so I can test that out. If not I think I will cancel it.
@@lashlarue59not being able to avoid highways has been my biggest gripe with FSD. I saw on not a tesla app that this feature will soon be added. Luckily, I had 3 family members who used my referral, which allowed me to use FSD free for almost a year.
@@Zach95 That is good news that they are adding that feature but I do have a work around. Basically go to Google Maps and set up your trip with the stuff you want to avoid then export that route to the Tesla app. Then the route with the proper avoid stuff will appear on the car and FSD will use it. If you want the exact steps let me know.
@@lashlarue59I would like the exact steps. Thank you
What attack mode is it in? Aggressive or calm?
Love the phone tacked in front, that's awesome. I'll have to subscribe now.
Aggressive was selected in this drive. I've tried all 3 driving modes, unfortunately it doesn't make a difference.
S3XY Button's Dashboard App
it’s been too many years, don’t trust it.
Exactly, I use extreme caution when using on unfamiliar roads.
Interesting to a non-tesla driver. Do you think now they are out of beta they will have to do a "long term" branch where they just iron out mapping and minor bug fixes, and another branch latest features ?
I'm not exactly sure. We've now been out of beta for almost 3 months and they've sent out over 5 new updates. Not much has changed since graduating from beta to supervised. Hoping to see some fixes for the known issues in my area but I've already been waiting quite some time.
What version is this?
v12.3.6
15:25 it was definitely going to wreck into that median. Thanks for waiting until the last minute to take over. I’d be too nervous letting it get that close!
Sure thing! My channel is all about documenting and demonstrating Tesla’s Full Self Driving.
Impressive through the construction zone 👍
Love how in your version of "City Driving" you don't see much urban sprawl (compared with my perspective of urban sprawl from Hong Kong) 😊
That lane situation (3 separate lanes) is crazy! I assume when you are actually turning right, it does turn right? Have you turned right at that junction? 🧐
Thanks for doing these videos.
Majority of my drives are rather impressive. It's those few instances where I'm uncertain what will happen. I have not tried turning right at that intersection but will try it out next time I'm in the area. Thanks again for commenting and tuning into the channel!
@@Full_Self_Driven Here in Hong Kong, autonomous driving is illegal and autopilot is limited. However, I like to use AP but often other "city drivers" just cut me up!
I've also had it change lanes withoutt signaling
That is a known issue, my biggest concern right now is when it has no confidence in its lane change selection.
I still think it was a serious mistake not using radar/LIDAR as the cameras can only see so much (a combo of both would be powerful) but they chosen cams only
You’re correct, it was a huge mistake switching to “vision” only.
FSD is a work in progress. Ultimately it will be safer than any human driver and will save countless lives. I can’t wait for that to happen!
Complaining that FSD is is not perfect yet is like being mad at a two year old child for not being more grown up.
Thanks for doing this testing and help to improve it.
Thank you for your feedback, it only helps us grow the channel.
I’m sorry if I came across as complaining, was merely pointing out the fact that FSD did this intersection perfectly 100% of the time for two years. Not until v12 released months back did this issue start occurring.
If other cars are around the car still aggressively drives through the intersection in the wrong lane. This is a major safety concern which needs to be addressed.
I watched the almost crash scene a few times. The left lane marking on the street got some problems: one line leads up straight to the island delta. FSD may had been confused by it.
I’ve watched in slow motion over 10 times and I’m convinced the lane line markings are correct. The only line leading up to the island is the lines for the crosswalk.
I got to your 15:22 bit, the stupid thing is the computer knows it's a right turn Lane only as it's showing it on the actual screen that it's a right only turn (and sees the curb) and it knows it can't go straight on but it's still goes straight on (until you forced it off to avoid the curb) that is really perplexing very strange why it's ignoring the road markings that it can clearly see on the display
It’s absolutely ridiculous how it knows what it’s supposed to do, or at least the computer displays the correct information but can’t comprehend.
@@Full_Self_Driven must be somthing els going on as that display is what FSD uses (loads of detailed information that isn't shown normally ) so confused why it's not using it, it's like somebody's added a database link to it that tells the computer to ignore its own information in front of it
tesla do push out junction/road rules for when the FSD isn't reading the junction correctly, so overrides FSD autopilot and directs it to take say the middle lane or correct incorrect phantom lanes that FSD just keeps on trying to change into
this looks like one of them Overrides where it's ignoring FSD director (it clearly knows it's in the wrong lane but it's staying in the right lane and ignoring the pavement it clearly can see, when it should be in middle lane (witch it clearly can see, it even sees the road markings)
To bad you don't have access to the detailed information that I see some of the other CZcamsrs use to see what FSD is doing
hmm it seems some signs still arent picked up reliably, the signs on the ground that say right turn only. i can see why it would make the mistake however. though i hope these issues will go away soon enough.
Agreed, definitely hope it gets fixed soon as this is a fairly recent issue at this intersection. If you noticed they also have the arrows hanging above the lanes to indicate which one should be used.
It'll be interesting to see if 12.4.2 that was released today fixes this issue. I usually run across click bait videos about FSD errors nowadays but this is legit and I hope you get more traction if the fix is not in by this version.
Definitely a known issue on the v12 branch. V11 had no issues with this route previously. Click bait is a real issue nowadays, didn’t want to overstep but needed to get this video seen. I’ll report back once I receive 12.4.2
woah
It’s definitely a sight to see!
Insane. Tesla supervised driving isn't ready
This week I've encountered way too many close calls with this version.
I just came back from about 1000 miles of driving over 3 days with V12.3.6 on a mix of city, suburban, rural and interstate driving. I had two times that I needed to intervene for safety (both in confusing construction zones at night) and once when it was going to turn into the wrong driveway for the Supercharger station. FSD suggested that I change driver profile from Chill to Average which seemed to improve lane change behavior -- changing lanes when appropriate (mostly) and when requested by me. I used it at night and during the day both in areas that I was familiar with and in areas that were unfamiliar. At night, in unfamiliar areas, FSD helped me find where to go when I could not see it plainly with my vision. The oops with finding the Supercharger was critical for me (but not safety critical) since I was arriving with a very low state of charge - 10 miles remaining and I was a little nervous having never had the battery that low in the 3 years I have owned my Model Y.
Insane semi truck driver around @7:30 Passing everyone doing 70 in a 55 in the fast lane...
Around Georgia they speed because they don't have to fight any real elevation. Had one driving 85 in front of me the other day, it's absolutely nuts!
Try not to lane hog, been overtaken on both sides (in lane 3 for so long or 2 if your numbering them Backwards still) also changing lanes into Pepoles Blind spots isn't smart
Very true, I need to not get so caught up in my thoughts and stay to the far right when I’m the slower vehicle.
I work as a test driver for one of the world’s biggest OEMs doing autonomous research and development. This stuff is incredibly complex for a computer to handle. It might seem simple to most people but it’s actually amazing what these things can do on basic sensors. I get that it has been able to handle this before but I think people are really hard on these systems in general without knowing just how difficult this stuff is to do.
That makes complete sense. You're definitely correct, very complex stuff. it's just frustrating how it does it something correct 100x over and then forgets everything it knows.
People are right to expect high standards, since they are the ones that might be killed by these systems.
Acting like that's no biggie is crazy when you want to convince people to trust your system with their lives. It was clear from the start that anything below excellence is unacceptable in here.
@@loveyourword no one is expecting the customer to trust these systems yet. That’s why it’s supervised. You also sign a huge disclaimer when you first use it.
The Apollo guidance computer had a whopping 36k of ROM and 2K of RAM. It got 27 astronauts to the Moon and back without killing anybody, and without any accidents. All of Elon's Dojo computers and Gigatech can't navigate fully mapped streets.
Don't forget, Apollo 12 flew 240,000 miles to the Moon and its LEM landed within 300 ft of its target, the unmanned surveyor probe. Not bad for 36k of ROM and 2K of RAM using inertial navigation and star fixes. No road maps no GPS.
That's absolutely insane when you think about it with that context. Tesla's been at it for years, it feels the last few months the system has gotten gradually worse.
The software version should be mentioned.
v12.3.6 is the version of FSD. I thought i put it in the description but must've forgot. Thank you for pointing out!
Should not be used in public honestly.
Agreed. Only here to demonstrate the system as it appears today. Tanks for taking the time to comment.
You really think any trashball Tesla owner doesn't drive like this. Well I should say let their trash car drive itself like this...
How can they wide release this to everyone with this kind of shit 🤦🏼♀️
Seemed to do so well at first glance. Then I realized later in the video what you meant 😂
This update has had major problems. I’m hoping 12.4.2 fixes a lot of these know issues
Thanks for helping improve the software, for, as we know, it's not perfect yet. Just work on your attitude a lil more and you will be a great helper.
Thanks for your feedback and tip regarding my attitude. I’m working on it. Thanks again for tuning into the channel!

Only four negative Nannies so far. Wow that's even impressive. I'm sick of hearing from them same thing over and over. So dumb.
Agreed, these trolls are everywhere. Thanks for commenting and tuning into the channel!
That interior looks as ugly as it can be
The interior matches that ugly, stupid and dangerous steering wheel.
You've got no idea!
@@1225KPH Only way i could get a Tesla was with this idiotic wheel
@@1225KPH at least it has turn signal lever, now tesla decide it is to expensive to have it ,also phone as dashboard scream so premium
Yes, no turn signal was the dumbest idea yet!
