Maurizio Sarri says that his confrontation with Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa was down to simple misunderstanding about his injury. Kepa refused to leave the pitch when Sarri attempted to substitute him, leading to the Chelsea manager throwing a water bottle and walking down the tunnel.

for such scenarios you should have a clause in the contract so that the player learns a painful lesson by being hit financially.

He wanted to bring on Caballero for obvious reasons: better penalty record, has played with City, has more experience etc. Kepa thought he was being substituted because he had been on the ground injured, and wanted to signal that he was still fit to play. After the misunderstanding was cleared after the match, Sarri decided to not blow this up bigger than it was, and went with Kepa's explanation to not make Kepa look bad. Very classy from him I think
