    You are very sincere and credible. I find you credible because you have gone through the insomnia journey yourself and from that journey you can teach others from your experience. You are the best sleep coach that I've seen. I find that I trust and connect with your experience because of your sincerity.

    I trust what you teach about insomnia more than I trust my brain when I go to sleep so I benefit so much by watching your videos. With this one I guess we can “normalize” sleeping. That’s fantastic. Thank you Alina. I am so happy. 🛌💤🇨🇦

    Oh my goodness you don't know how your advice makes so much sense. Its funny how i literally knew all of it (subconsciously) yet wanted to hear it from someone (again brains being brains to feel validated. Like hey she's wise and I've followed her advice and it worked and now hearing what already intuitively feels right is great news).

    This morning I am so frustrated. It's not normal what our brain made of a few sleepless nights. It takes so much time to regulate this again.
    I feel I don't have the power for this jpurney. I was so strong before this started. I suffered so much of panic before this started. And I was really strong and overcame it.
    And now this happened. I am a lion. But for this I don't have the power.
    The most horrible thing is, that there is always a new fear. Always new sleep patterns.
    And this all can not be brought in an logical order. Then there is so much information.
    So much tiredness.
    On top of it all we have to function in our jobs, cook, wash, tidy up, meet friends, take care of bills.... continue life as if everything is normal. We have to accept, befriend, ....
    I will not make it.
    I could if I knew it would last only 3 months.

      @@FearlessSleepThank you, Alina.
      Since 8th of March I only once slept 6.5hours. Approx 3 hours the last 2 weeks.
      I am really on my knees. In the past the arousal gave me strenght. Now I am really frustrated.
      Have a great time in your holidays ❤

      @@flossbrown3128 Sir. Take your time. Stop watching this videos. Stop reading about it. Don't think about sleep. There is nothing that is dangerous. Just turn your back from this topic. Do things you love. Do things that make you happy. Meeting friends. Cooking. Sport. All the things you enjoy. If you deal with heart palpitations just tell yourself and body that it also beats fast if you do sports. Don"t analyze sleep. Wishing you all the best.

    Simply brilliant! This is a trap I have fallen into so many times. It is indeed very weird for an insomniac to not celebrate the good nights but so necessary. I also noticed how natural you are becoming in making videos. It seems like you did it all in one take, congratulations .😊❤

    This is a really powerful vid. So counterintuitive which is what makes it so effective. The yin-yang analogy will be helpful in the recovery process I can already tell. Looking forward to more vids on this channel. Additionally, do you have any tips for social anxiety? I find myself constantly resisting and preventing having socially anxious moments which, ofc, only make them stronger. Is acceptance the ‘solution’ to it like with everything else?
    Thanks :)

    • @FearlessSleep
      @FearlessSleep  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Ellie, I'm really glad you found the video helpful! And as for the social anxiety, yeah, you are right, acceptance is the ultimate solution. But just like with sleep, a certain type of anxiety has its own beliefs around them. To me personally, overcoming social anxiety is about acknowledging the fact that there is nothing I can do to MAKE people like me or what I say or do. Because I can't control their thoughts, emotions and actions! So if it doesn't really matter what I do, why not do things I find natural for myself and see what happens?
      And the extra thought: my psychologist usually says that if you want to stop worrying when talking to people, make it your goal to worry even more! Become the greatest at awkwardness and blushing :)

    Hello alina! Your videos are amazing and give me hope. I'm kinda at the beginning of my insomnia journey. Its been 6 weeks of hell. I have tried everything you can imagine, and experienced many zero sleep nights. I feel that I have accepted that there is nothing I can do to control my sleep and have given up sleep efforts such as sleeping pills, eye masks ect. My issue is I'm currently having some sleep on the sofa and I'm scared to give that up by going back to bed. Should I just start going to bed at a set time and just accept that what will be will be? I already know that I can function on barely any sleep as I've been doing if for weeks. I just find it difficult to find enjoyment with wakefulness when I just feel sad and frustrated. Thank you again for your inspiring words x

    Another wonderful video from you thank you! Any tips on how to get past the exhaustion on a daily basis? Suffering with chronic insomnia for 2 years
    God Bless you Always
    Michael

    • @FearlessSleep
      @FearlessSleep  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks Michael! You know, the exhaustion usually comes from the fight we had with sleep, rather than the lack of sleep itself. If you think about some college kids who are staying up all night partying, there can be definitely some sleepiness the next day, but that kind of emotional heavy exhaustion isn’t really there. So it makes us think that it’s not about the amount of hours, but how much energy and efforts we invest in trying to sleep.
      Now, trying to address and remove the exhaustion is a tricky thing because exhaustion is like an echo from the past, you would only be dealing with something that you can’t control and it only leads to more exhaustion and frustration.
      I think, we need to address the root of it: which is the battle at night (this is basically the whole topic of my channel) and provide maximum comfort for yourself on the days when you feel fatigued. For example, If you feel the need to rest during the day, you can allow yourself to do so! In other words, more freedom and care and less rules - can take a lot of pressure off which results in more peaceful state that leads to less fighting. Hope it makes sense Michael!

    Helloo Alinaa
    I think I am in my last stage of recovery..but feeling I am stuck in it.
    I know pretty everything I should know in the teachings. I have the necessary education.
    But the fear is still here..the bad nights too.
    Maybe I should have the patience in order to leave insomnialand once and for all?
    What can I do ? just wait for things to sort themselves out? And do nothing?
    Sometimes, I feel angry towards myself due the thought:
    “Everything is perfect in your life…you must be happier and not worrying all the time..Why are you always thinking about sleep? Think about all the beautiful things and enjoy them!!!”
    Do you have any comment concerning the above?
    Thank you so much

      I feel this exact same thing too! The fear just lingers even after I have many good nights in a row. I think it's a bit of trauma leftover from the initial insomnia.
      It's been 1 year now since you have commented on this video, have you made any progress?

    • @peace57
      @peace57 Před rokem

      @@AliK-re6sf Helloo! Things are a lot easier. I feel sometimes sensations of hyperarousal after good nights. But i am learning to let the feelings be without trying to get rid of them.
      In this way, they will fade by themselves.
      I recommend 2 books that were really helpful to me: "You are not your brain" and "The Happiness Trap".

    Helloo Alinaa. Thank you for your great videos.
    How can the person recovering from insomnia (1 year since I begun learning) keep the hope ? (The hope that the struggle will come to a final end one day).

    • @user-zq4dj9ph3k
      @user-zq4dj9ph3k Před rokem

      Clinging on to the hope is in itself the reason why you’re not recovering. The whole paradigm of insomnia is letting go of the need to sleep but everyday the thought crosses your mind you have to tell yourself that you’ll be fine even if you don’t get any sleep. It’s scary and frightening but that’s the only way to go about it
