ATLANTA CHILD MURDERS: "THE PSYCHIC"(1980)

- Dorothy Allison (December 29, 1924 - December 1, 1999) was a self-proclaimed psychic detective from New Jersey.
She was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Allison was credited by some sources with assisting a number of police investigations over the years, including the 1967-1968 search for a missing boy (later found drowned) in Nutley, New Jersey, the 1974 kidnapping of Patty Hearst, and the 1976 Son of Sam murders. In October 1980, she went to Atlanta to assist police investigating the then-ongoing series of murdered children, but police said she ultimately did no more than give them 42 possible names for the murderer, none of which proved helpful.
Many others considered her a fraud. Two police detectives in Paterson, New Jersey, accused her of offering them money to say that she had been helpful in the 1979 search for a missing boy, later found murdered (Allison denied the charge). She was a frequent target of scientific skeptic James Randi, who cited her failure in the Atlanta case when naming her for one of his earliest "Uri Awards" (later called the Pigasus Awards) in April 1981.
Allison published a book about her activities, called A Psychic Story, in 1980. In May 1988, she was featured on the television series Unsolved Mysteries and, later that year, Secrets of the Unknown.
A resident of Nutley, she died of heart failure on December 1, 1999, at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, New Jersey.

Was this before Wayne was captured
Wow. This was a time in history we must never forget. Thank you so much for posting. We love you. Great job as always. 😓😓😓😓😓😓😓😭😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Poor things were just desperate at this point. Can't imagine how scary this was!! Some thing was literally hunting the babies!!
My cousin was one of the girls killed in those murders. She lived with us in Chicago for about three years, and the day after she left and went to Atlanta she was killed the first night she got there. It hit my family hard.
Wow. I am sooo so terribly sad to hear that. I have no idea how this ends...if the killer was caught etc..but I will research it myself. God bless that girl and your family. Love to you, love from kelley
@@kelleyabitbol6156 thank you, I still have family members to this day that believe her case was separate fron all there others. They cut her ears and nose off her body. I was only twelve years old st the time.
@@keving52002 My condolences to your cousin🙏🏿, so many of our people until this day are begin killed with missing body parts.
@@keving52002 Sorry to hear man. None of us can know how it feels until it actually directly affects us. I think the death penalty should be applied to these monsters. Burn em alive. Just like they did centuries ago.
May she and all the children rip.
Not sure how much help she was, but she had to have been a delight to be around in the middle of all the fear, agony and frustration at the time.
She was NOT helpful at ALL!! It was an embarrassment to the Atlanta police dept that they were so desperate for leads in the murders, that they actually brought in a psychic!!! Really?!!? During the height of the murders, Camille Bell said that she believed that the Atlanta police, "couldn't catch a cold", and the fact that the police brought in a psychic proves she was right!! They had a list of suspects, identified by witnesses, who reported seeing the suspects with victims, they had young boys and teenagers complaining that white men and black men, tried luring them to get into their car! They had ALL of this information, yet they were relying on a psychic to help in the murders!!! SMH
she said the killer was black long before the fbi did their profile of the killer
And because she said that the killer was black, everyone was supposed to believe her, because psychics, are experts at giving accurate evidence, right???
Im really curious how you get or have all these cool old news clips???
Someone had an awesome vcr garage sale......or he is the one who orginiall filmed everything lol
Ancient family secret, lol.

Vanderbilt University Library archives
I saw one where they were in allen temple apartments and kids were talking about candy man that was white....another had kids from wayne street that knew him
I would take what she said with a grain of salt. I lived through this, and it was definitely racially motivated. Dick Gregory gave one of the best theories. This was a peculiar time in history, and it still haunts me, and I am sure many others.
I solved a donut case in the official donut shop.....lol
They really entertained this foolishness? What a mockery!
She don't know shh...
Thank you cause she dont
This lady jus sayin anything
She said there was 20 kids out there and the guy said did you say 20 and she no I said plenty but I’ve played it back several times and she definitely said 20 I don’t know why that stuck out to me but it did
HEZAKAYA GREAT WORK AS ALWAYS....HOW U BEEN BABY??
Thank you...I've been AWESOME 😎
Good footage. This psychic didn't say anything during this interview.
The police in the background are so over it....lol
The first Sylvia Brown.......selling snake oil....
Lol like Miss Cleo and Dionne Warwick lying to people who are desperate smh
Hey. Well she provided her services for free. You get what you pay for.
No, she didn't provide her "services for free"!! Her accommodations while in Atlanta, was paid for by the city!! She stayed at one of the finest hotels, and left a large tab for all of the wine she drank while in Atlanta!!
@@rucianapollard7098 , the taxpayers will pick up the tab.
@Patrick McCarron Okay, so if the taxpayers "picked up the tab," then she didn't provide her services "for free!!"
@@rucianapollard7098 - good point
@@rucianapollard7098 , agree. good point.
1-900 was big back then, lol. She was a quack and so were her believers.
Anyone who does not believe the supernatural is real or possible is mistaken. There does exist a collective consciousness we are all connected through mind.
If the supernatural is "real or possible" why didn't the psychic solve the Atlanta murders?? Why don't we just replace police detectives with psychics and solve ALL criminal cases?!!?
She was right about the race part but that wasn't cause of her "gift"
Ahh no, the police locked up the wrong guy and the lead Investigator Sidney Dorsey who locked up the wrong guy is now in jail.. Do the research..
Sorry, a white guy recently came out and confessed that it was the WS who was committing the children murders. Now those two older guys were killed by Wayne. So they pinned all the rest of those murders on him.
@Quinn Brodie The brother of victim, Clifford Jones, went to Sidney Dorsey, with a strong suspect in his brother's murder, that initially, the police pursued it, but when Wayne was stopped on the bridge, they stopped the investigation. Sidney Dorsey, who was sheriff at the time, followed up on the lead, and found strong suspect, Jamie Brooks, had killed Clifford, and there were 3 eye-witnesses to the murder. Dorsey soon discovered that Brooks had died in prison of AIDS back in the 90s. Sidney Dorsey knew a great deal of information about the Atlanta Murders, he knew suspects and witnesses. He can be seen in old news footage searching Wayne Williams home. He never believed Wayne was guilty of the murders, and he wanted to pursue other leads, but the FBI stopped all investigation of the cases after Wayne was stopped on the bridge. Sadly, Dorsey became a rogue cop and while running for sheriff in Fulton County, he had his opposer murdered and he is in prison for life!
@Truth Is Knowledge who or what is the "WS"???
She look crazy and appears to be a drunk
😂😂😂😂
Was this before Wayne was captured
the psycho lady🤓 😳 l👀ks 🥴 crazy🤪
Did she name the murder or did I miss something
You missed something!! The Atlanta police was an embarrassment to law enforcement!!! They were so desperate for answers to the murders, that they bought in a charltan who stayed at the finest hotel in the city, and drank up numerous bottles of wine, all paid for by the city of Atlanta!! Meanwhile, witnesses were reporting to the Task Force, seeing victims getting into cars with suspects, seeing several victims hanging out at the home of a known pedophile, and that they themselves had been approached by men trying to lure them into their cars!! Yet, Atlanta police dept was dependent upon a psychic to help them solve the murders!! SMH
Quack quack
This is where it got silly.
Was gonna say just that, thanks.
It also got sad, because it proved that the Atlanta police didn't know what the hell they were doing, and kids continued to go missing and turn up dead
Dorothy was my favorite
Brought her there to say not about race lol
I thought at first she was mixed, is she a Jew?
What a waste of time..she's so vague.
This lady and her bull....Police sometimes listen to these crazies just to cross off the list...they confuse things trying to promote their own business acting as if they don't want reward money.
It should let you know just how badly the Atlanta police bumbled this case and how they didn't have a clue about these murders, that they bought in a charltan for advice!!!
These comments are hilarious 😅😅😅
They're the best part of the trip the part i like
