ATLANTA CHILD MURDERS: "THE PSYCHIC"(1980)

  • Dorothy Allison (December 29, 1924 - December 1, 1999) was a self-proclaimed psychic detective from New Jersey.
    She was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey.
    Allison was credited by some sources with assisting a number of police investigations over the years, including the 1967-1968 search for a missing boy (later found drowned) in Nutley, New Jersey, the 1974 kidnapping of Patty Hearst, and the 1976 Son of Sam murders. In October 1980, she went to Atlanta to assist police investigating the then-ongoing series of murdered children, but police said she ultimately did no more than give them 42 possible names for the murderer, none of which proved helpful.
    Many others considered her a fraud. Two police detectives in Paterson, New Jersey, accused her of offering them money to say that she had been helpful in the 1979 search for a missing boy, later found murdered (Allison denied the charge). She was a frequent target of scientific skeptic James Randi, who cited her failure in the Atlanta case when naming her for one of his earliest "Uri Awards" (later called the Pigasus Awards) in April 1981.
    Allison published a book about her activities, called A Psychic Story, in 1980. In May 1988, she was featured on the television series Unsolved Mysteries and, later that year, Secrets of the Unknown.
    A resident of Nutley, she died of heart failure on December 1, 1999, at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, New Jersey.

      She was NOT helpful at ALL!! It was an embarrassment to the Atlanta police dept that they were so desperate for leads in the murders, that they actually brought in a psychic!!! Really?!!? During the height of the murders, Camille Bell said that she believed that the Atlanta police, "couldn't catch a cold", and the fact that the police brought in a psychic proves she was right!! They had a list of suspects, identified by witnesses, who reported seeing the suspects with victims, they had young boys and teenagers complaining that white men and black men, tried luring them to get into their car! They had ALL of this information, yet they were relying on a psychic to help in the murders!!! SMH

      Sorry, a white guy recently came out and confessed that it was the WS who was committing the children murders. Now those two older guys were killed by Wayne. So they pinned all the rest of those murders on him.

    • @rucianapollard7098
      @rucianapollard7098 Před rokem +1

      @Quinn Brodie The brother of victim, Clifford Jones, went to Sidney Dorsey, with a strong suspect in his brother's murder, that initially, the police pursued it, but when Wayne was stopped on the bridge, they stopped the investigation. Sidney Dorsey, who was sheriff at the time, followed up on the lead, and found strong suspect, Jamie Brooks, had killed Clifford, and there were 3 eye-witnesses to the murder. Dorsey soon discovered that Brooks had died in prison of AIDS back in the 90s. Sidney Dorsey knew a great deal of information about the Atlanta Murders, he knew suspects and witnesses. He can be seen in old news footage searching Wayne Williams home. He never believed Wayne was guilty of the murders, and he wanted to pursue other leads, but the FBI stopped all investigation of the cases after Wayne was stopped on the bridge. Sadly, Dorsey became a rogue cop and while running for sheriff in Fulton County, he had his opposer murdered and he is in prison for life!

They were so desperate for answers to the murders, that they bought in a charltan who stayed at the finest hotel in the city, and drank up numerous bottles of wine, all paid for by the city of Atlanta!! Meanwhile, witnesses were reporting to the Task Force, seeing victims getting into cars with suspects, seeing several victims hanging out at the home of a known pedophile, and that they themselves had been approached by men trying to lure them into their cars!! Yet, Atlanta police dept was dependent upon a psychic to help them solve the murders!! SMH
