Have you heard about the Mod Duo ? It's an open source universal effect processor that can be used as a full guitar pedalboard, including synthesizers, or even as an audio interface. The number of existing effect pluggins available is crazy and most are free, but you can write your own effect and loads are added all the time.

NOT TRYING TO SAY THAT DARRYL IS STUPID, OR SOMETHING!! I'd be a liar if I thought something like that Landon! But the most important part about recording is YOU mate!!! Everything else sre: "frills," so if you can't PLAY your instrument, (whatever that my be....) maybe you just want to whisper into the microphone like: - I dunno - Lew Reed or something.... The MOST IMPORTANT PART is still YOU! Unless you just want to digitize, and computerize - switch off your brain and make sounds that dehumanize! Some have eyes, & still can't see, their plastic noise is anything, but music too me!! To (sort of) steal a lyric from: -Millie & Kreator! (Obviously I'm not going to quote it exactly right,) that would be the same kind of 'PLAGIARISM' I see (and hear!) all the time! I'm totally against ppl that do that sorta thing, like: AutoTune. Just wrong in my (not so) humble opinion! To be fair, a person who is a REAL artist - does their job, & leaves the technical stuff up to sound engineers, & producers, who know their job.(and are well worth every penny they make) and will be impartial. If need be, re-amp something, or make ya do fiddy "takes" in order to get the BEST out of you!!! That said; leave the Pro's do their thing. Whilst YOU do yours!! Yes? Ouia? Ja? Capiehse? Thanks! Danke! Domo arigato Mr. Roboto!

Will this Evo 4 provide me with a mono output. I ask that because I currently had a Focusrite Solo 3rd Gen and when I go live on FB or just record in Quicktime the sound only comes out the left side. I understand that this happens due to the Focusrite Solo considers input 1 (XLR) to be the left channel and the other input (1/4 inch) to be the right channel. Now this would be an easy fix in post with any DAW because I can process the final output in Mono however because I go live and I dont have the option to fix in post. Therefor every time I go live I get stuck with the audio only coming out of the left side as I only have the mic in input 1 (XLR). So my question is would the Evo 4 input 1 (XLR) only record to the left side/channel during recoding or going live or will it record to both the left and right sides?

I bought my EVO 4 a few months ago. Great interface, and exceptional for the money. I use it for guitar recording. For $129 it's beyond affordable! I should have bought one sooner. I use it paired with a set of Beyerdynmaic DT770 PRO 80 ohm headphones.
The simplicity of it, makes it difficult for recording beginners (and those not quite as tech-savvy as other folks), but once you figure it out, it's SUPER simple to use...Then the simplicity becomes a positive thing. 👍🏻

I don't have any studio monitors yet, so I can't tell you if those outputs produce any latency or not, but with the USB 2.0 and headphones through the EVO 4's headphone jack, I have noticed virtually zero latency. I'm beyond impressed with that part of it. The preamps are also very warm and quiet when you plug into the instrument input in the front. I need to learn how to quiet the XLR's down a little bit, when mic'ing up my 4x12 cab, but I think that's my own lack of knowledge, and nothing to do with the unit.

@@coldshot0175 That's how I do it when mic'ing up my 4x12 cab. I always play my guitars at full volume (on the guitar) for max clarity (power) of the pickups. When plugging directly into the EVO 4 to use plugins through my DAW, then I don't select any input (1 or 2), and I make sure it's not selected and gain for input 1 is turned all the way down. Best way to do this, is to download the digital EVO 4 control for your Mac or PC. For me, that's the easiest way to control the EVO 4.

Would recommend a Zoom H6. You get an interface but also stand alone portability. Lots of room for growth with adding other instruments in real time, hence the 6 in the name.

If all you are doing is recording guitar or bass you can get a USB guitar cable from Amazon for about $10. I use Reaper and it recognized it right away.

I agree. This Evo thing is way too complicated for my simple needs. I use a very old Line 6 Tone Port. It has an input for the guitar cable, a line out and a big volume control. That's all you need. It's USB powered so you just plug it into the computer and away you go. As simple as can be. I use Linux software to record my guitar work and that is a whole other topic...

@@derfinsniter5185 they make midi to USB cables. If the keyboard has a 1/4" output the guitar USB cable should work too.
