Right.but depends if you want best warm laid back sound then FiiO FD11 which is 40$.So depends preference, but never cross 50-60$.

So many new iems keep on releasing that it feels like the latest fotm iems last barely a month before a new one takes its place, I myself experience buyers remorse after the kz pr2 debacle

I feel the same way about DACS and amps now from certain companies. Flavor of the month but even less differences between them than IEMs. I think the goal for IEMS or headphones should be getting a collection that covers the bases you want to, some for neutrality, detail, some for warmth, some for listening pleasure, soundstage, etc. After that, there really is no reason to buy new unless something is truly groundbreaking, which I think is rare.

All you need is EQ. They will never make good chifi because it's not proffitable to sell a good IEM as you wouldn't have returning customers.

This is mostly true but for the more inexperienced and visionless brands. (I'm looking at you kz)
Brands that offer good products doesn't have this notion; at least I'm not seeing any sign related to this. They usually retune their products for different userbases

I only buy new cheapie iems if I need a new cable. My phone doesnt have a headphone now, so i got chu2dsp for the cable. A few dollars more for free tips and an nice iem.

I did review the SR850 in one of my earlier videos, but that was when I was new to making videos and less experienced. I don’t cover many KZ IEMs, because they’ve been in a lot of controversies, although I have tried a lot of them, I just tend not to cover them very often.
Yeah I’m quite familiar with dankpods, and I also used to mod for the dankpods subreddit and discord, although I don’t do that anymore since I started my own channel

Because bass heads like it that way, we don't care about the vocals, we just want bass
