- We we're invited out by @officially_gassed to take part in an OG Battles petrol vs. diesel drag race!
Ryan and Mathisse were trusted to take a couple of customers cars, one being the 454bhp/750ftlbs 430d and the other, a 424bhp/690ftlbs x-drive 435d, taking part in 2 races!
The first the 435d vs. Audi A6 Bitdi with 515bhp and the second race, both 435 and 430 up against their petrol counterpart, a 480bhp M4!
Who will come out on top on this extremely foggy and sketchy match up??

You guys could easily do a drag/roll race type event yourselves with your customers and their cars.
We might do something for Diesels only and invite the odd petrol for a showdown

The soot sits in the exhaust rather than inside the dpf as the engine idles it fill the exhaust and boost blows it all out .. you can see both cars are blowing black . But the audi has had modded injectors as far as im aware
This is true as far as ive seen… Altho mine is not pushing this much power it is smoke free entirely.
These bmw diesels are no joke! There torque is immense even on a 30d with a proper map and few mods seriously quick off the line
Sadly the world and his wife knows this now, so good examples of 335d,435d are hard to come by now unless you are prepared to pay top dollar. Great engine that. Even 640d prices are going up.
They are good but if you really want a laugh . Chip a 545i hybrid 😂.

Those 430d numbers make sense to me I think, my F31 330d with just a map was pulling 0-60 in 4.7 measured on my racebox, which I think is stunning all things considered.

That was some very interesting stuff diesel V petrol , apart from the amazing exhaust sound from the m4 itd used twice the amount of fuel the oil burners used 😇. Just go to show everyone how much diesel technology has come 👍🏻.

Having gone from a RWD E90 to my 335d xdrive the drag race result didn’t surprise me . Would be interesting to know what tyres were on each of the 3 bimmers?
PS4s on 435d and V107 sport on 430d. Likely 4S on the M4

considering the Audi got less HP per ton and just more weight in generell thats kinda what i was expecting 😅 i wonder what my BiTdi will do 100-200 in the end of Feb when i got my map (2+) on it 😅 with Darkside parts

15:50 you can see a massive difference in angel eyes brightness, is the car on the right an LCI model?
Not sure on trim however the left one does have tinted headlights
Got a LCI e91 335d msport mapped to 379.× bhp and 720 torq. It's got oil leaks and the stem seals are starting to go and the flex plate is rattling. I'd like to put it all in a petrol e46 for ulez purposes, do you lot think there would be much fabrication needed? Or would I be better off sourcing a blown up dog of a petrol e91
I'm sure it won't take a lot of fabrication if you source all the right bits!

Saw a video about this Allroad. I have the same car as a BiTdi too. Which brakes are on that car???? RS6 brakes doesn't fit??? Greetings from Germany.

Does the 430d have a LSD ? Quaffe make them, a noticeable improvement in traction off the line and braking stability. I reckon a different result next time with a Quaffe LSD on the 430d.
Stock differential, M4 has sport diff so there are improvements to be made.
That was gonna be my question…2wd vs 1wd ultimately….lsd would make a big difference to the all round drive of the 430d and bring the diesel much closer in performance to the m4 both in drag and circuit racing performance imo

@@DarksideDevelopments PS4s defo preferred choice for BMWs and better in the wet. V107 not a bad tyre but would be interesting to see if the 430d actually goes faster on the PS4S tyres. 🤔

Would have been good, that left us with a different turbo on though so only had 400bhp
Ryan I know i am changing the topic , am concerned about a Mini R56 D16 diesel 1.6 I just purchased . It has dead torque under 3500rpm , i really have to tramp the throttle pedal to get it to go , I am used to diesel turbos with 1/4 to half pedal feeling the turbo boosting, if you know these , are they like that or do you think I have vacuum pipe etc problems ?
Peugeot engine, turbo will likely be dead due to oil starvation.
@@DarksideDevelopments yeah it is, but it does pull sting after 3500rpm, am a bit far away to bring it in curently .
They stick really bad so don't turn as fast!

Hi Ryan, you are totally correct , the turbo shaft is sticky. Do you repair these turbos and maybe have upgrades ?

These were on a more aggressive tune for racing, we can make them pretty much smoke free for road use
Nice. I would look to upgrade my diesel car more, but it's non ulez compliant, so I might have to swap to petrol soon and do that up. The Mayor of London hates diesels

Know the feeling. Sold my diesel fiesta when the last ulez zone came in nearer to me and now got a cheap to run small petrol car. If I still had my fiesta would of mapped it by now and still benefit with the more power and near equal fuel economy compared to my petrol car

I prefer the track racing....there's a limit to the interest of a straight line 🙂 in most things in life, you found the limit in this video, I'd leave this to Vauxhalls and Ford brigade. Nice to see the humility in your conclusion though. 👍
BMW rod bearings fail at around 100k and take the engine out get them changed along with the gearbox oil at 60k as recommended by ZF the manufacturer who make the gearbox ,don't listen to BMWs BS of sealed for life or you'll be looking for an engine n gearbox replacement at £10k+.
335d gt f34 xdrive went from the best car ive ever had to the biggest pile of junk in 80 mile run to work n back. Was at 390hp 680 of torque with xhp gearbox map and AC S suspension set up.
Now put them on a circuit with same driver and see how far the m5 walks away from the others
