I have a 32 year old 10/22... Only thing I've ever done with it, is a decent scope on a decent scope rail... And a Power Customs Grand -Master trigger kit...
It shoots better than the ammo I feed it... There's no need to spend 1200 dollars to have a very accurate rifle. They are inherently good shooters right out of the box. Most people who dress up their Rugers, do it for that "look"... Not because it's needed.

I've used the Archangel stocks on several 10/22's. The action fits just fine... as you actually want it tight. The MAGAZINE WELL is what is tight. To get the mag to easily drop out requires aggressively going at that area with a big file. The color of the stock goes all the way through, so it does't really alter the appearance. LOVE the stocks once the mag wells are opened up! They fit your body absolutely FANTASTIC. For $100 they are a STEAL.

Are they really upgrades if you replace every part on the rifle? You are essentially buying an entire second gun. If you assemble the original parts, you have the original rifle again.

I would recommend the Magpul brand of takedown stocks (Backpacker X22). Some neat features like buttstock storage of 3x 10rnd ammobox, Ridiculously easy to install on your takedown version with only hex keys. Order from amazon for 120 bux.
edit: even with a typical 10/22 riflescope the takedown fits in a normal size backpack with water camelbak, etc. Out for a hike around the area and see something that needs to be shot, unzip the pack, snap the rifle together, and you can be ready in about a minute.
I like to have a strap installed and it took a bit for me (more than I had expected given how clear Magpul has been in other areas) to work out how Magpul's system works with straps but it's basically a quick release system intended for you to be able to quickly attach or remove the strap.
Magpul Sling Mount Kit - Type 2
      Hope this helps

Why do some of you folks think replacing these parts is a cost effective decision? Why not just build it the way you want from the ground up? You are paying for a stock, barrel, and trigger assembly that you’re not going to use. I have two 10/22’s in original condition from 1980’s. No way am I changing their configuration.
