ABOUT CHRISTOPHER CROSS
Christopher Cross burst onto the music scene with his 1979 self-titled debut album produced by Michael Omartian. The lead single “Ride Like The Wind” spent 4 weeks at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and was quickly followed up by Cross’ most popular single to date (and first #1 hit) “Sailing”, which later became known as the archetype for the Yacht Rock genre. In 1981, Cross became the first artist in Grammy history to win the “Big Four” most prestigious awards in a single night; Record of the Year (for the single “Sailing”), Album of the Year, Song of the Year (also “Sailing”), and Best New Artist. Later that year Cross released “Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do)” which he co-wrote with Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer, Peter Allen, and was the title-theme for the 1981 film “Arthur” starring Dudley Moorre and Liza Minnelli. The song earned Cross his second #1 and the Oscar for Best Original Song at the 1981 Academy Awards. Cross’ sophomore album “Another Page” was released in 1983 and featured the singles “Think of Laura” and “All Right”. Cross has sold over 10M albums worldwide and his songs have been covered and sampled by NSYNC, Puff Daddy, Avant, Shirley Bassey, Dione Warwick, and many more. - Hudba

Looking at those scenes of life in America in the early 1980s brings a tear to my eyes. Wishing we still had those simpler times again. God it was awesome flaws and all. Just so much more positive and just a great vibe. I'm so glad I have those memories of being a kid and teen then. Thanks Christopher Cross for this amazing song and your voice. Exactly. I know most people view their earlier days as simpler times. However, it was very much that way. The world was more hopeful then.
We never had the feeling of glamour and proportions that came from the US. Not a criticism. But in the UK I fondly remember that same feeling. Starsky & hutch, magnum, hart 2 hart my fave shows though 😀 ❤
I miss the 70's and 80"s. Gosh those were wonderful times. Yes, there were some flaws perhaps not perfect but they were easily the best times of my life.

In the mid-80's I was 14. My church youth took a trip to Austin. I had my first girlfriend. I held her hand in the church van. What a magical time. Austin was a small, quirky state capital having around 350,000 back then. I think the metro is over 2 million now. That 1980's Austin only exists in my memory now.

Operation Iraqi Freedom took its toll on me. If not, thats ok. I listen to your songs EVERYDAY and love them very much. They remind me of how good we had it in the 70’s and 80’s. I remember “Never Be The Same” as one of my favorite songs of the early 1980’s. I never thought that someday I’d hear the song played along with scenes from the 1980’s and feel so emotional over it.
