How to Derestrict Honda NSC50 Vision 50 CC Scooter Variator and 110 ECU

  • How to get past the factory 30mph restriction on your Honda nsc50. This is by changing the variator to a malossi or polini and also swapping the ecu for an extra boost to one from the nsc110. You can also play with different roller weights to see what suits you best.
    The Honda is a great 50cc scooter and so well built but just needs a little help to stop holding up traffic. Some simple tuning can give it the extra speed it really needs.
    Please make sure you have the correct license if you derestrict your bike :)

    Good information. It's interesting that Honda made the variator the restriction instead of putting a ring in limiting travel like most manufacturers.

      @@ryandavies8174 I think I stuck with 6.3G rollers for both malossi and polini variators as it’s hilly round here, they suited it. You need to play around with weights a lot to find the best balance to keep rpm steady all through acceleration.

    • @nitrorory
      @nitrorory  Před 4 lety

      Dank Boi yeah I replaced the spring. The malossi one helps keep the revs up on hills and gives a bit better acceleration. It’s not hard to change , once you have the clutch off you need to stand on top of it while you unbolt it so it doesn’t spring in your face 😂😂
      Search videos for scooter contra spring and you’ll see people changing them

    Does this work for 2014 models of the nsc50r? great little scooter but speed is a huge problem almost unsafe how slow it is especially pulling out of junctions etc. They say 28mph but that is a very small promise. This is literally on 100% flat ground or downhill. any slight gradient and the speed drops dramatically. Ive still had it for about 9 months now but still find it a huge problem when cars are almost clipping me where theyre all overtaking becuase theyre impatient

    • @nitrorory
      @nitrorory  Před 4 lety

      Yes it works for all nsc50 models. Have you serviced it recently , shouldn’t be quite that slow pulling out that it’s unsafe. Maybe needs a new air filter and spark plug ? Does it have a lot of miles on it ? Could be low compression due to wear and tear.
      Get a polini or malossi variator fitted , it makes the biggest difference.

      What weight rollers did you get with the kit ?
      What you want to aim for is a roller that gives you the same rpm throughout all acceleration.
      If the revs are high at low rpm and you don’t seem to accelerate much then the rollers are too light.
      If the revs stay low at low speeds and only pick up as you reach higher speeds they are too heavy.

After all this the bike struggles to get to 30 mph at best we get 27, then if we're slightly on an incline we get little to no power. The only thing that seems like it could be causing a problem is the exhaust, we run the bike for about 10 minutes and the exhaust gets extremely hot and there doesn't appear to be enough exhaust fumes coming out, but were not to sure if this would cause our problem. You gotta try different weights for where you live. If you have a lot of hills in your town like me you want slightly lighter ones to encourage vario to move down gearing. If you are in flatter place they can be a little heavier. I ended up with 6.5g
