Remember when the Maverick started at $19.995?
Me too... Me too...
Makes sense for 20-25K, but dealers are selling for 42K+"protection package" BS in my area. Completely defeating the point of this otherwise nice little truck for non-truck people.
Order a 2024MY from a dealer that charges msrp they are out there. That is how I bought 2 Mavs that I show on my videos.
@@fordmaverickmaniac how much longer will the 2024 MY ordering bank be open? I'm guessing not much longer based on last year.
@braetonwilson4296 You are right about the hybrid Braeton. EcoBoost probably has a few more weeks of order time left.
I will do a billion times more then most truck people. People drive around in trucks just bc they like the idea of a truck but you could eat off their bed.
Ordered my 2024 XLT hybrid here in Ca a week ago and was told yesterday that order banks have closed. Got mine with luxury package for $31K… paid msrp.
Well I can tell you I get 32 average mpg with the 2.0 fwd and a top so far at 37 mpg. I love this truck
The XLT seems to be the best for my needs, but prices are creeping up quickly. It would be nice to see another company jump into the small truck segment at this price point. Hyundai is in the game, but their prices aren't competitive against the Maverick.
rumors are Toyota and GM, Subaru will be there soon or 2025.
My 22 XLT Hybrid w/ CP 360 & lux package took 18 months to arrive and was converted to a 23 model. Getting 43 MPG everytime o drive a mix of freeway and streets. Awesome little truck for the price (as long as theres no dealer markup)😂
Feels like my fully loaded 2022 XLT FX4 was a bargain at MSRP back in November 2021 now 😅 If you can still get a 23 and 24 at MSRP, this is still one of the best vehicles for the price in the USA. Absolutely love mine; no complaints.
I ordered a 2024 XLT Tremor. I don't like leather seats so the XLT was the way to go for me. Going from a 2009 Ford Ranger Super Cab Sport 4x4. Love the size of this truck so I passed on the new Rangers. Glad to see the Maverick fill a void left behind.
Your videos are always entertaining, relevant, and truly a pleasure to watch. Love the music too! Keep up the great work guys!
Thanks so much!
Had my Hybrid XLT for a few days now and loving it so far. Had to wait almost a year but happy that my price and interest rate were locked in last year. Perfect truck for my general weekly city driving and weekend warrior/running errands.
Do you see the rear license plate while driving it?
The reason for the offset plate is specifically for the police. In some states, it's illegal to block the plate with the ball, meaning the plate needs to be relocated to the passenger side by law when pulling a trailer or mounted on the trailer by the trailer plate. This saves you the hassel of having to swap your plate.
Also, I should mention in Michigan where they designed it, has this law. It only applies to Michigan resident's so if you're from out of town they usually let you go but if you're not pulling a trailer you still cannot drive with the ball in legally, if it blocks the plate. I've been pulled over and given a warning about the law and told the officer that if he can remove it, he can have it as it's been stuck on there for 25 years.
I just bought my custom order xlt awd ecoboost from Jack Kain the same day you released this video. I love it!
Great timing haha. Congrats!
just picked up a XLT hybrid out of the blue, and paid over MSRP which is a first but I am really enjoying my new truck or trucklet as others have called it. So far 40 mpg even going to the local mountains for a weekend trip.
Fabulous video of the Ford Maverick!!! Great job guys!!
Thank you! 👍
Cool and very comprehensive video, thanks for making this! This Maverick would be a car I could seriously use, but since here in Europe we're being forced to buy small and often inadequate electric cars nowadays, I can't see the Maverick ever being offered here. Unless it's grey import and about 6 times the money it costs in NA, that is...
Excellent review of a great little truck!😸
Thanks! 👍
Both of your brothers are excellent and giving car and truck reviews. I’ve been watching you for a long time and you both do an excellent job. God bless you both and good luck in the future.🙏👍
JimmyUSAF 🇺🇸✈️
Thanks so much! We appreciate the kind words 😁
Wow! It’s very nice and great price! I love pickup trucks!!
Now my dream truck!
Sell a kidney or keep dreaming 😂
Don't buy one off the lot you will pay a $10k mark up. You can order a 2024MY Maverick right now from a dealer that charges msrp. I have suggested builds on my videos.
No fog lights? Is the bedliner a spray on type? Nice looking interior. Like the color combination. I really nice size truck with a lot of space, and a fair towing capacity. Good fuel economy. Thanks for the review guys.
With some of the newer LED headlights, fogs aren’t needed.
@@rustlesee The brightness of LED headlights on low beam don't do much good with fog. I live along the coast in Northern California, and it is very heavy fog at times. I would not buy a vehicle without them.
@rustlesee that's very far from true. I have some of the very brightest headlights ever tested. My fog lights aren't crazy bright but they make the headlights look totally worthless in fog or snow.
How does this compare to a Bronco sport badlands?
I love my lariat Tremor.23 city 29/30 highway 26 average, I highly recommend.
Drew & Mason you have both created a CZcams channel that is impressive and most excellent.
Thank you, John!
Hey guys. I was your driver in Monterey for the Toyota event!! Denny. Hope you guys are doing well!
Hey, Denny! Hope you're doing well also and happy holidays!
Nice car, but I ain’t paying 38 Grand for a small truck, but the base model, hell yea such a great deal
I will never understand why anyone would get expensive leather seats in a truck. I want something that's easy to clean mud and dirt out of, not something that I'm going to be afraid to get dirty.
I love the maverick and in that color ,trim I live in the s.f. Bay Area dealers are asking $40 to $ 45 grand for this !!! Screw that go online look in south or east coast for dealers
That is more than my 2022 Ranger Lariat... Too bad about greedy dealers....
Toyota has the Costco Cruzer not a Land Cruzer
you have to be a millionaire to get a maverick nowadays
Amazing pricing, if you can get it for less than a $10k+ markup
let’s go toyota! we need a corolla truck
😂 No
Not happen, maverick would still be the better truck.
Sadly ford is raising starting price of this every year, mark ups make it more expensive than some used f150s ive found and production is still not at high as it needs to be
Also known as Bidenomics!
Doesnt the lariat come with bedliner? This doesnt show it.
It would be sweet if you could get any of these new vehicles. Ford is dropping the ball with all their new vehicles. They haven’t been able to produce nearly the amount wanted. Ford get your shit together. Also stop dealers from marking up trucks like this to well over 40,000. It’s bull shit.
Isn't the hybrid now the optional engine going forward? MY 24 features the turbo engine as the standard and I believe the hybrid is a $1,500 option.
Yes
Interesting! But does that mean you can finally get an AWD, 4K tow hybrid? Or is that still not the case?
Some of your gripes make no sense. This is a cheap truck, if you want luxury go to a F150 or change manufacturers. This is perfect for the price and what you get
Meh but far better than a Hyundai. It’s giving generic airport security fleet vehicle vibes. I was expecting much better. I hope its crash test ratings aren’t as horrific as the Bronco.
Never pay any mark up on a entry level vehicle like this defeats the purpose and the motor sounded like $-T
We need to cut out the dealerships who add on overpriced packages that we don’t want or need.
Maverick great truck who cares about all the water bottle holders all the storage reliable
00:45 What's that rattling noise? Is that the compressor? Loose rocker? Bad vibes?
A lot of injectors sound like that my dude.
I was interested in these until I found out they were front wheel drive. A truck should be rwd.
Sync 3? You've got ro be kidding.
I recognized Keeneland!
Mid-size trucks were always about $2,000 less than their full-size counterpart at the same trim level and options. Now both sizes are so overpriced ... hopefully the economy collapses to force the price of everything down. I was very happy to get my Maverick with no dealer markup at all. Just MSRP + tax & title was about $38,000 for a Lariat with all the options including the hard tri-fold tonneau cover, but not the moon roof or the FX4 or the First Edition package.
The price they sell these for with everything you want in a truck comes to the same price as a ranger...
Not as capable as a Ranger, but not as pricey either. Supply lines are getting back to normal, so Dealer premiums should subside with time. Ford has raised the base price about $3k, but still cheaper than a Santa Cruz and much more capable. Hybrid no longer being standard, I think, hurts more than the price increase.
Why cant Ford build 60/40 split rear seats. I swear it’s their kryptonite
There is no such thing as 23k for Mavrick by the time you do decent options price goes up considerably. The Lariat can cost 37-38k with just decent options as heated seats..ect. Don’t fall for Fords marketing that keeps getting parroted by reviewers.
There are people who actually want the stripped down version. They are happy with the base version at the base price.
@@matthewgaines10 when you buy a 23k New Maverick let me know. I'll get one too. They don't exist.
YES. The Ranger is too close in size to the F150.
!
Who’s that person in the back seat ? Just wondering.
Josh! He videos and edits many of our videos
No. Especially at the price they are going for.
Definitely Is a cheap vehicle, the wait time on orders is crazy , recalls Insane…. But it has well functioning airbags, they will protect you that’s a fact. RIP Cyber orange 2022 😢😢 and thanks to those overpaying at the dealerships , you’ll be better with a total loss 😂.
The recalls aren't that bad.
I'd probably still get a Ranger. From what I know the Ranger can pull more and is RWD or 4WD. The Maverick I think is FWD only. Plus I think the 4 cylinder engines are a bit of a drawback for a truck. Granted these are not meant for towing, but I still think a Ranger or even a base model F150 would be better especailly if you plan to do "work" with one (ie. tow a trailer of any sort). At best the Maverick might be able to tow a 3,000 lb trailer but that is probably about it (the Ranger I think ranges from 3500 to 7000 lbs, and an F150 gas truck a bit more). And with the ecoboost motors, if your turbo(s) go out, the vehicles are practically useless as they have almost no power if the Ecoboost system goes out. Not a big fan of turbo-type engines to be honest. This is why I'd say get a V6 or V8 instead. Don't buy a truck for gas mileage, buy it to do work and buy accordingly.
People buy a truck for work. If your work involves smaller towing limits or just needing an open bed (pool, yard work, construction foreman/inspection, etc), buying a v6 or v8 is just a waste of money.
For heavy work, I would recommend a bigger truck. For occasional home owner work this truck does absolutely great. I've towed two giant waverunners with no issues. I've hooked up a trailer with a rzr and also had no problem. I would highly recommend this truck at msrp pricing or less. These dealers are asking stupid prices for these.
Get the 2024 Honda Ridgeline trail sport!!!!!
Make it a 2 door with a longer bed, and I’ll consider it
I absolutely despise the wheels on the base model. Could they be more ugly? Huge miss by Ford. That’s my air ball.
And, I completely agree that the small screen is also unacceptable. Make that two air balls.
Great job reviewing the truck.
Thank you!
The most ridiculous thing Ford has done is REFUSE to put a hybrid on the AWD model! Wth..
Refuse? Have they said that? As far as I know, this hybrid system was all new. So I’m sure they are working out some logistics for AWD.
Ford is jacking up the hybrid price... booooo!
Can't wait for competition. Toyota and Honda need to get in the game @@Brian_Eugene_Lee
Ford Off
anther nice thing about the Maverick is you do not have to plug it in or have a special outlet to charge it. It charges as you are driving along
The only reason to get a Ranger is if you need to tow more than 4,000lbs. The Maverick is the real classic Ranger replacement.
Hilarious for sure!!! This will Never replace the Ranger...
Sorry nope. Even the old rangers were tough. This is more of a truck for "truck wannabe" owners. Get a real truck. Even a Ranger is a "real" truck. An F150 is even better (as long as it's not the EV model).
@@HR-wd6cw lol get a real truck? It does as much truck stuff as I need and most people need. Holds my family of 4 comfortably. Only paid 25k out the door for an XLT hybrid. I have moved everything in a house with it while getting over 40mpg. The only reason I would ever need a full size is if I had a boat or trailer to tow that's more than 4k lbs.
Small trucks like this are in almost every way shape and form are what 80% of truck owners really need. Only reason these get hated on from current truck owners is due to egos that blind them from this exact fact.
Unless you're in heavy construction, towing massive trailers routinely then obviously a larger stronger truck is worth it. But many of the currently cruise ships truck owners barely do truck stuff and if they do the maverick could do "most" of those needs just fine.
It's got a short bed sure but that doesn't limits it's capabilities if you put your brain cells together and plan/think.
Ow there removing the V4 & putting aV6 engines init , which I dislike both the only engine that good & reliable is the v8 ……
V4? 😂 bud, I don't think you know enough about engines to decide what is reliable and what isn't.
I have really tried to like the maverick but it's just to ugly, just a Kleenex box on wheels.
Stop sampling sounds systems…!!!
Sounds like an old sewing machine. Talk about noisy.
The display looks terrible coming out over the top of the dash. Hideous design.
Oh I hate the front-end looks just like a trailblazer 🤮. I get 24 mpg in 2000 3.0l 4x4 5 speed ranger. So no improvements in 23 years that amount to hill of beans. Real truck people don't care about gadgets n gizmos that'll just break anyway. I'm sticking with ole trusty 300k and still rolling everyday.
The hybrid system in the maverick is known for lasting 500k, gets 50 mpg, and will dust your ranger in a drag race. That's definitely a step up 😂
And you speak for the so called “real truck people”? Then why are so many “real trucks” with so called “gadgets”.
Bland
Nice Dirt Hauler until the Frame rusts out ! Sorry FORDs total failure in their EXPEDITIONs means NEVER buying a Ford again. NO EXCUSE to use rust loving cheap pot metal steel in 2020s... Aluminum alloy and Zero Rust in so many cars and trucks now, Ford is behind the time with cheap 4th rate reject steel.
I would like to point out the maverick has lane centering.... not even the ranger or f150 has this, it only has lane keeping assist. Why is this a big deal? You need lane centering if you want a comma 3... a device that gives your vehicle autopilot.
